I married a school teacher in the early 2000s, she made a good income ($47,000 a year), i made a little bit more ( about $49,000). We when only married about 2 months before she got in a car accident, so she didn't work anymore. I worked for a great company that let me work more over time, so i was making about $55k a year, while she stayed at home because she chose to. Now our income went from 96k down to 55k, and she wasn't happy. Not about the money, but about how much time i had to work. Plus she was mad that i didn't do the things she thought a man should do, like work on the car, cut the grass, or do home repairs. I've always said as a kid when i made enough money to hire people to do the things i didn't want to do i would. She had credit cards to travel back and forth to see her family in other states when she chose for as long as she liked. She wasn't a divorce because she said i don't like doing things that other men do ( yard work, car repairs, roofing and painting). I made enough money to cover everything, plus keep her pockets with spending money. I said cool. She ended up receiving $800 a month from her disability check to live on ( we didn't have any kids together). Just because a man doesn't want to do manual labor outside of his regular job, doesn't mean he doesn't want to work or doesn't care about you. I'm living in great comfort in the Philippines now with none of those problems 😊😊
