    Просто возми справочник и посмотри ,из какой стали делают звёздочки для цепной передачи , фрезы по дереву тоже могут быть сделаны из хреновой стали. В итоге, не имея мозгов, ты зря трудился.

      even lesser. carbon loss through heating... and deformation. Dont forget his heat treating process is not the most controlled, and I'm sure he does not know the exact composition of the steelk he is using... so no heat treatment possible that would be right for the steel...

      Depends on the steel. I worked on presses with lots of gears. They were all softer than the bull gear. A 200 dollar gear is easier to replace than a $15,000 dollar bag replacement.

      no my friend, there is no need to forge the profile. and it would be detremental to some patterns, they would not look as desired... Only some aspects of "compressing" the steel through hammering changes the properties.. like cold forging may have some positive influence on toughness (at a given hardness).. Every modern knife manufacturer, and you cannot say that CRK or coldsteel make bad knifes, cut from a billet....

    Do you know about soaking the blade in STROING INSTANT COFFEE??? Yea after you etch it ferric chloride you clean it off then soak it in hot instant coffee... but you make the instant coffee really strong..... this will make the dark parts of the pattern and make them JET BLACK!!! Like really REALLY BLACK, but you'll still get all the same pattern and detail, and fading, and the light parts.... it just makes the dark areas much darker.... I guess there are different way of doing it, like hotter temp coffee or the amount of time you leave it in (and maybe even whether or not you wipe it down while rinsing off the etching acid 🤷‍♂) I think if you watch some videos of other knife makers on here you9 could find some better details on how to properly do it, but I think you will be impressed with what it does for the looks!!!

    I wanna give you a little tip I learned... when you cut with an angle grinder you shouldn't push down hard to make it cut faster. When you do this you grind down the disc A LOT!! Like WAY MORE than you realize... And you only cut through the steel just a little bit faster, but you're wasting SO MUCH MONEY on the discs only to save a minute or two of time cutting..... How much do those discs cost?? (I have no idea what kind you9 use, so they could be anywhere from $5 to $20) well I can't say if it's worth it for you, but I would rather have my disc last me making 3 or 4 knives than use 1 or 2 discs on just one knife... .. So I just wanted you to know this... the video I saw did good testing... seeing if pushing hard used up more of the disc than just gently push down... and it wasted A LOT... I just wish I could remember who made the video :/ ... I just hope I helped out some how :)

    • @AK-ContentCreatIon
      @AK-ContentCreatIon 6 дней назад

      @jeremyarnold1979 and twisted pattern welded steel is definitely not a good idea, if it should be strong... Too much internal stress, even when normalized... Maybe some cold forging could have some benefit... But no.. Mediocre steel will not become gold / better steel,just because it's welded...
