Hoi An & Bana Hills & Golden Bridge Vietnam

We had a very comfortable two days at La Siesta Hotel in Hoi An. The rooms, the food, the staff, pools etc were all excellent. This hotel is about a 15 minute walk into the old town or about 2 minutes via Grab. The old town was beautiful of an evening plenty of places to eat and drink and the market stalls are great to check out. The river looks so good with boats lit up with coloured lanterns....

A quick trip to Train Street in Hanoi was great fun and really exciting. We managed to watch two trains go past and how the tourists and locals react to the trains. The chaos the trains cause is very interesting. We then travelled by limousine bus to Ha Long Bay. It was totally worth the 2 hour 15 minute journey from Hanoi because the scenery was breathtaking. We have a had a fantastic 5 day holiday in Hà Nội where we experienced many of the must do things while there. We tried a delicious Bahn Mi, local sweets, open top bus ride, Uni Cyclo, the night market and pub street. Hà Nội is a very exciting city.

We travelled across the Port Phillip bay from Sorrento to Queenscliff on the Searoad Ferry. Then after a few days we headed to Drysdale to take the Q Train for a fantastic five course degustation lunch which was delicious. We escaped the heat for a few hours and headed to Level 21 Shopping Centre and Duta Plaza in Denpasar. We called into a number of shops and had a delicious coffee and donuts at J.Co. Karen also had a delicious Roti Bun..

Hi, ive been to bali many many times, but always stay in legian, i would like to try sanur, do u know any reasonably cheap hotels to stay in close to the baruna beach markets, wanting a pool, water, tea and coffee in rooms, prefer a walk in shower and close by to where your doing your videos of places to eat.. tia 🙏🏽

Good morning, there are a few hotels that are reasonably cheap where you can walk to Baruna Market. We usually stay at Bumi Ayu where you can get a room for approximately $65 per night and that is a 20 min walk. You can walk through the new shopping centre (Icon Bali). Vila Shanti is another (we have a video on that) this hotel is approximately $100 per night and is only 10 min walk on the beach footpath. There is a hotel called Inna Sindhu Hotel, we haven’t stayed there but it’s very close to the market and reasonably priced. Roaming Richard (RUclips) does reviews of hotels and Homestays in Sanur. Hope this helps.

Hi Jeanette, the Luwak belongs to a coffee shop just down the lane from the hotel (in the market street), it’s very easy to find and the people that owed it said he was very tame.

Thank you for doing this video. We are doing the Amsterdam to Budapest cruise in September in a T cabin and very much looking forward to it. I was reading our booklet and it mentions that T, T+, P, P+ cabins and the suites have the option of room service. Did you ever use it? Did you have many occasions where your ship was docked right next to another and privacy was an issue?
In answer to your questions, yes we did use room service once but we preferred dining with other guests. We did dock next to other boats but the privacy wasn’t an issue and it wasn’t for very long so if you are close to another boat you could always close your curtains.

Very nice ship. Yes, the rooms may be small, but it encourages you to go to other areas of the boat and meet people. It looked like a great culturao and food experience.
Hi Jeanine, you are spot on, we certainly used all areas of the ship, met some interesting people, sampled some wonderful food and visited some beautiful towns and cities. It really was an experience we would recommend.

Hi Jacqui, there are so many good restaurants on the main road in Sanur. We had lunch or dinner at approximately 30 different restaurants or Warungs and had great food in almost every one of them. Sanurs best dining on Facebook will provide some good insights on places to dine. We will be there in August perhaps we will run into each other..

This was my mum, dad & sisters go to villa in Sanur. You even went into their room #15! They’ve all passed away now. I’ve actually got a dedication plaque near the entrance in front of a temple-like statue. Bought back so many memories. Very emotional to watch, but good emotions. Thank you. 🙏🏻
