SEE THE SECOND SOIL GROUP! 2 Peter 2:20, the people described as "escaping the defilements of the world by the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and then again becoming entangled in them" are often interpreted as being like the "seed on the rocky ground" from the parable of the sower in the Bible, meaning they initially accepted the message of Christ believed for a while but quickly fell away when faced with challenges or persecution, signifying a shallow faith that didn't take deep root.

I don't think when James in 2:14 says can faith save him? read 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and we don't give them food or clothes, this is not talking about eternal life, it is talking about being saved from hunger and nakedness. James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point he is guilty of all, so works cannot save you unless you live a sinless life which is exactly what Jesus did for us, because we could not do that. He was sinless and took our sin on him, so that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Romans 4:4-6 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. If it is by works, then it says God would owe us according to our performance. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness, we can see it is faith and not works. 6 Even David also describes the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputes righteousness WITHOUT WORKS. Ephesians 2:9 Not of works. Titus 3:5 NOT BY WORKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH WE HAVE DONE, but by his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. We are saved and born again at the same time through faith in what he did, not by what we have done.

I would point out that you misquoted verse 38 by saying we are to repent of our sins, it says repent and let everyone of you be baptized, repent is change your mind and agree the gospel is true, not stop sinning. Romans 9:11 says an unborn child has not done anything good or evil, but in chapter 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world "Adam", and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. The unborn has not sinned, and many children have not yet sinned after being born because they cannot yet reason or understand the difference between good and evil. The scripture does say in John 3:3 Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. In verse 5 Except a man be born of water or of the flesh and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven. I don't believe anyone can go to heaven unless they have been regenerated or born again of the Spirit. That happens by grace through faith in the word of God according to 1 Peter 1:23. Revelation 20 talks about the millennial reign, the thousand years Christ rules on earth and then Satan is loose for a season, those that never had a chance to believe on Christ will be given that same opportunity, that is my opinion and only an opinion. So, do you believe we are all saved the same way by grace through faith or do the unborn babies and babies that are too young to even talk yet can go to heaven without being born of the Spirit?

I believe Jesus was preaching the gospel about himself to the two on the crosses one on his left and one right side, as he did in Luke 24:13-35 to the two from Emmaus and opened their eyes, of the thieves one believed, and one didn't, I believe the one on his right did, and the one on his left didn't. Jesus was always preaching and teaching in every situation he was in, it was for their salvation, I believe that was all he had on his mind. Paul said that is why Christ Jesus came into this world was to save sinners, of whom he was chief. 1 Timothy 1:15. Romans 1:16 says the gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation unto everyone that believes. As it says in John 6:45 they heard and learned but only one believed and came to him, in verse 47 he said he that believes on me has everlasting life.

I think we should all be baptized by water, but that is in obeying just like being circumcised in the Old Testament. Paul said for in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature, we are circumcised in the heart by God. The same can be said about water baptism, the baptism of the Spirit is what is important not water. Paul in Titus is telling us we are saved by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost, the washing he is talking about is in Revelation 1:5. And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten from the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood. Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. It is through his blood, not water. 1:20 says and, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things to himself, by him whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. We are not saved by being baptized in water, we are saved by grace through faith, and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest a man should boast. Water baptism is a works of righteousness, something we do. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

And you also beg the question that just because water-baptism is practiced, that this also means that it is done for or part of salvation. The Apostle Paul writing to saved baptized believers is not proof they were water-baptized for salvation. And I would contend that other places in Pauline epistles that he does say that water-baptism is salvific. Rom. 6:3,4; Col. 2:11-13; Gal. 3:27; Eph. 4:4,5 are all the context of Spirit baptism of 1Cor. 12:13.

IF* water-baptism is done for or part of salvation, then water-baptism should be prioritized just as salvation is. And only preaching the cross is connected with salvation but the Apostle Paul doesn’t say the same things about water-baptism?

Right, but in the sense that the “rapture” is taught today. Matthew 24:31 is symbolic language of God protecting his people (Isaiah 11:12; 56:8; His 11:12, etc) when he was judging other nations. In this case, that judgment would be His judgement on Jerusalem (Mt 24:1-2, 34). Like I said in the video, 1 Thessalonians 4 is just one side of the story of Christ’s return. When Christ comes ALL who are alive and in the graves (the just and unjust) will come forth in the same hour and some will be resurrected to eternal life and some to condemnation (Jn 5:28-29).

Horrible horrible teaching. No, the Bible does not say anywhere that we can lose salvation. You really think you can lose what God has given you? 2 Peter 2 doesn’t say that you can lose salvation. Goodness… brother really? He’s referring to people who learn about Jesus and even walk in His ways but then get entangled back into the sinful world. It’s referring to someone who never had a personal relationship with Jesus to begin with. Learning about Jesus and even doing what He says doesn’t save someone. Salvation comes to those who go to Jesus with their heart in their hands, repenting and denying themselves, and trusting that Jesus’ life and work on the cross paid for their sins.

Curious who you would say that the book of Hebrews was written to? And why did the writer warn them about “casting away confidence which has great reward,” needing “endurance, so that after they have done the will of God, they may receive the promise” and not “drawing back to perdition” but continue to believe encouraged them to the saving of their soul (Hebrews 10:35-39)?

Good question, but I have a few objections to using the thief as an objection to what Jesus says that I hope you’ll consider. #1. Was he really not baptized? Where does the scriptures tell us one way or another? Before Jesus’ ministry even started, multitudes of Jews (common people & sinners, like this thief) were flocking out to John to be baptized which was the will of God for them (Luke 7:29-30) and for the remission of sins (Mark 1:4). Also, was preaching about a kingdom, which this thief seemed to know something about (Matthew 3:2; Luke 23:42). Either way, we’re just not told if he was baptized or not. #2. Jesus had power on earth to forgive sins (Mk 2:10). At the time of this guy’s death, Jesus was still on earth. This was a face to face interaction. But Jesus is no longer on earth, therefore he has given a new way to obtain the forgiveness of our sins (Acts 2:38). #3. Like Jesus, this thief lived and died under the OT (Gal 4:4-5), which we are no longer under. The NT did not begin until Acts 2, after the resurrection, which did not happen during the life of this thief. In fact, Mark 16:16 was spoken after the thief died, and is a passage, where Jesus is preparing his apostles to preach the gospel as his NT ambassadors. #4. Even if this thief was taken down from the cross and baptized, he would not have become a Christian. Baptism into Christ has a meaning that John’s baptism could not have. It's a death, burial, and resurrection that unite us in Christ’s experience (Romans 6:1-4, 5; Colossians 2:12; etc), yet christ had not been resurrected yet. Baptism into Christ saves us through the resurrection (1 Peter 3:21). Hope they helps. just a few things to consider. Let me know what you think.

@@trinitybaptistchurch1888 no, I believe what Paul spoke and wrote came from God (1 Corinthians 2:7; Galatians 1:11-12; Ephesians 3:1-5; etc). But 1 Corinthians 1:17 has a context. No where in the text did Paul say baptism was not necessary or that none of the Corinthians were baptized, or that they did need to be baptized. In fact, there is a suggestion that all of them were baptized, but Paul is just saying he was thankful he had not baptized many of them (only the few he mentions). What's the reason? Because there were divisions among them over who did their baptizing (vs 11-13, 3:4-10). Paul’s point is that he was thankful he did not baptize many of them, because if he had they might say they were “baptized in the name of Paul” instead of claiming Christ (vs. 13). As far as vs 17, His role was not to do the baptizing (it doesn't matter who baptizes you), but His role was to be God’s vessel and declair God’s message (cf. Acts 9:15). Question along those lines. Who do you think did the baptizing of the 3,000 in Acts 2? Honestly, I have no idea, but at some point I have a feeling it was no longer (or never was) the job of the Apostles, because in Acts 6 they choose 7 men to tend to the business of the church so that they could “give themselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” - Acts 6:4 (cf. Hello, I'm not sure what is your intention behind this video but I'm not sure that calling atheists "fools" is gonna help your message.... The problem with fire is that it actually exists and not only you can see it with your eyes but you can also feel the heat the closer you get to it. And it's the same experience for everyone. Now about God, it's very random and if you are not already convinced that He exists, you will never find any clue. Thousands of people, if not millions, are praying for years without getting a sign of Him... It's not very nice to call them fool.

You friend need to read the scriptures in context! Heb 10 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, (Received the KNOWLEDGE of the truth, and NOT salvation, or Redemption just a little twisting of scripture throughs it all the way off. The Hebrew writer is making a POINT, not a warning and he even includes HIMSELF if He had not believed BUT only received the KNOWLEDGE of the truth, (( IF WE wilfully sin )) The point is what happens to unbelievers, not backsliders, and or believers that go back to. animal sacrifices BUT those that got the message but rejected it HOW? by ignoring it and going back to their life rejecting Christ's message of the gospel. ) 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? ( SHALL he be THOUGHT WORTHY! someone who thought he was worthy to THINK he could step on the blood of CHRIST that has Sanctified The Lord at the Cross, not the person, stop twisting the scriptures please, Jesus is our sanctification, our Redemption, Our Justification, NOT us, WOW have we got that far to twist scripture in a way to Hate the true message of the Cross WOW! ) 38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. ( Look at the answer in the next verse friend! ) 39 But WE ARE NOT of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Just think about some things he says: #1 - The writer says they were scantified by His blood, but they counted it a common thing. #2 - The writer says they cast away their confidence - How can they cast away something they never had? #3 - vs. 32-36 it says they suffered for mistreatment and Paul says they need endurance and if they did, then they would receive the promise. #4 - How could they draw back to perdition (condemnation), if they had never escaped it in the first place? This book itself is clearly written to Christians and this is a warning to these Christians (Hebrews 3:1, 10:19, vs 26… “For if WE sin willfully”) Question: if these were not Christians, then what former days is he trying to get them to recall? Clearly he's trying to get them to bring them back to after they obeyed the gospel and suffered for Christ, but he's fearful that they don't have the same endurance they did before. All respect my friend, just trying to understand the text together.

@@SpeakingTruthinLove4.15 Paul is recounting the story of how he came to faith in Christ; this verse is a retelling of Acts 9:18. Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus and accepted Him as Lord with the help of a Jesus-follower named Ananias. Ananias called Paul to make his decision official by being baptized in Jesus' name. The language of baptism in the Bible can be confusing to a modern reader; some passages seem to suggest that we cannot be saved without it. The truth requires a deeper dive into the culture. In the first century, Judaism had several sects, including Pharisees, Sadducees, Essenes, and Zealots. To publicly show alignment, a new convert would be baptized into that sect. This is why people were baptized "Into John's [the Baptist] baptism" (Acts 19:3): to publicly align with his message of repentance of sins. In Judaism, baptism followed such a decision immediately. In the professional American football leagues, players selected in yearly drafts put on a hat from that team when they are selected. In a similar sense, baptism in that era was an external, overt sign that one had just then and there become a member of that group. The Greek of this passage was translated by Charles C. Ryrie as: "Having arisen, be baptized; and wash away your sins, having called on the name of the Lord." "His name" means, of course, Jesus' name. Jesus' name is more than the sounds or letters we use to identify Him; it refers to His character, person, reputation, teaching, deeds, and everything about Him. To be baptized in His name means to accept everything about Him and agree to orient one's life around Him. Some people struggle with the wording here compared to Jesus' words in the Great Commission when He says, "baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19). Believers should be baptized in the name of all three Persons of the Trinity; here, however, Paul is specifically talking about Jesus of Nazareth and how He led Paul to spread His offer of salvation to the Gentiles.

@@SpeakingTruthinLove4.15 Acts 22:6-16 continues Paul's defense against accusations that he both breaks the Mosaic law and associates with Gentiles. He has described his early life training to be a Pharisee and persecuting the church (Acts 22:3-5). Now, he explains how he came to follow Jesus of Nazareth as the Messiah. His accusers show polite interest in his story until he arrives at the point in the narrative where Jesus tells him to give Gentiles the way of salvation. Paul's conversion experience is also recorded in Acts 9:1-19 and reiterated in Acts 26:12-18.

James 2 speaking of faith without works is dead. (Believing alone isn’t enough, even the demons believe). James 5 also mentions bringing back a straying brother. If a follower of Christ couldn’t stray they wouldn’t need brought back. The need for repentance is also very real! If one is “saved”…. They must live faithfully unto death to receive the crown of life Rev 2:10. Must love God and live for Him. If you live for self, one could be saved and live a very sinful life- plenty of verses in NT showing if you sin you shall not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. You must keep on keeping on until the day of physical death. “Once saved always saved” is nowhere in scripture

Amen! You’re absolutely right. There are plenty of passages that shows God did the work of salvation, but now it’s up to us. We must choose to be saved. We must choose to endure and remain faithful to receive the end of our faith - the salvation of our souls. Plus, there are plenty of warnings about what happens when we (Christians) abandon Christ and His sacrifice after being saved, we abandon all that Christ’s sacrifice has to offer.
