What is the magic in the water?
Water marbling is an ancient art technique where you create unique patterns by floating paint on the surface of a specially treated water solution, and then transferring those patterns onto paper, fabric, or other materials by gently dipping or pressing the surface against the floating paint design; essentially, it's a method of creating one-of-a-kind designs by manipulating paint on water's surface before transferring it to another object.- THANKS google…
But, what is the magic in the water?

Easy to mix and I get great results.

It has changed my life. I love it. It has been tricky at moments. Where I have made every single mistake in the book. But man, I have learned so so so much! I am so thankful to @ mayu silk art for their online program wh...

Your awesome
@@thatgirlaesthetic1740 thanks. The funny thing is that I didn’t make it. My guests who attended my workshop made it. Her first time trying this art! She was amazing!
That very first pass with the rake looked amazing! Like indigenous Haida art! ♡
@@3llevate that’s a comment we get quite often. I believe it has to with the thick black lines. And no colours blending.
Second one is perfect
Second one😊
What do you do to finish it at home?
@@2020patr rinse in cold water, hang to dry. And iron the backside. It goes home in a ziploc bag with instructions. 🥰
Is the ink not gonna bleed through the fabric?
@@Lattefoamart990 nope. The fabric that we print onto is prepared with a “mordant” called alum that has a reaction that causes the paint to be sucked up into the textile. And once it fully wet. It can’t absorb anything else
epic!
@@Grumpr right! #watermarbling has been so amazing. Always different. And every guest that attends brings something unique to the workshop! Where are you watching from.

@@colourdropdesign5361 Do you put fabric or paper on this to capture the design?
@ awesome, I love the effect! 😍 thanks for explaining!
@ I work mainly with fabric. But you can print onto any natural fibre. I started with computer paper when I was learning.
@ welcome!!!!
What is this???
@@inikainika1523 the process is called water marbling. We float paint and you create a design that we print onto a silk scarf to take home and wear. #okanagan #bc #canada
Beautiful
@@lindab91952 thank you!
Does the fabric absorb the dye? Im not familiar with this process, looks really cool!!
@@Tea-KW #watermarbling. The fabric is pretreated so when it touches the acrylic paint it absorbs into the textile. Making a permanent hand washable print! Also check out hydro dipping and ebru. Both have a similar concept. But prep is different.
That's fantastic
Beautiful
