This looks like a blast to fly. Whole different skill set on energy management compared to fixed wing?
@@workshop719 throttle management is crucial on this model!!!way more than anything else I’ve ever piloted!
@@workshop719 with an Rc plane you can power out of almost any mistake (given you have the power and skill to do so). One can make very snappy maneuvers to fly in tight spaces and you’re not INCREDIBLY AFFECTED by the wind (to an extent). This Rc paramotor is a different animal. It’s SLOW into the wind and unexpectedly fast with a tail wind. Your turns are not what I would call snappy but can be made aggressively with practice and a lot of timing, coordination and altitude. It cannot fly in tight spaces unless you REALLLLLLY KNOW what your doing and even then your just gonna fly in a tight spiral 🌀 that eventually slams you into the ground. It’s an absolute blast to fly and with the control lines dialed in perfect it’s aggressive if you tell it to be and very capable of some awesome maneuvers. I freaking love mine !!! The weather has to be perfect or it can get real sketchy REAL fast! And it requires ALOTTTTT of space if you can find it!
@@workshop719 the biggest thing to get used to is the delay between the trike moving forward first since it reacts immediately to the thrust from the prop, but then it take a brief moment for the lines to stretch then the wing above the trike to take into affect whatever control input you gave it. It’s a domino affect from control input on sticks to the wing actually doing what you tool it to do. This can quickly turn into a word pendulum effect that can be very hard to get out unless your extremely sensitive on the controller. EXPO is your best friend here!!!!
@@Line-of-sight-cinema Thanks for the input on controlling the paramotor. Very helpful tips for learning a very different skill set. I did notice it seems very easy to get into pilot induced oscillation.
Great tutorial. In a previous video you had also mentioned the brake line length spec is wrong in the manual?
@@workshop719 that’s correct!
@@workshop719 that’s correct. It says it’s supposed to be 32 inches but that leaves way too much slack in the control lines, giving little to no control authority. The control lines needs to be shortened to the point were if the wing is naturally hanging underneath the trike (if your holding the trike upside down), there’s no slack in the line. Start at 32 inches as specified and see what that gets you. Then dial it in half an inch to an inch at a time depending on how much additional adjustment (shortening) is required for your length.(I’m convinced there is potential for slight variations in length from kit to kit due to quality control issues)

Hi, I'm assembling the paramotor v2 now but I can't align the servo arms, how did you do it? I'm trying not to force the arms to insert them so as not to ruin the plastic thread but if I align them the thread doesn't match...
@@gianluca387 OK so here’s what you do first you have to get them as close as possible on the servo horn head then you can dial them to perfection with sub trim ! You can get them pretty close mechanically, but to get them absolutely perfect it must be done with sub trim on your transmitter! Also, you should center the servos by plugging in the battery before installing the clear arms to the servo horn heads! Hopefully that makes sense. If not, I can make a video detailing it.
@@gianluca387 actually I just wanna make sure that before you install the clear arms onto the servos, that you plugged the servos and ESC into the correct slots in your receiver and gave them power by plugging in the battery.(before installing the clear arms.) you need to center or 0/home the servos. Then install the clear arms onto the brass gear pinion teeth. I forget exactly what the correct terminology is for them. I’m pretty sure it’s horn or sumthing. The top hole where your string goes through should line up as close as possible to the hole where the silver clevis is getting installed. Then to get it really perfect The rest needs to be dialed in on your sub trim in your transmitter. I’ll go ahead and make a video this evening about it for you!
@@gianluca387 ruclips.net/video/kkRKWqH-zSA/видео.htmlsi=sAd438ZMaeLFY_J8
@@gianluca387 I know they'll be a tight fit mine were tight fit that just made sure I didn't cross the thread that's it
What is the length that you tied your knot on the brak lines?
@@jonathantholen919 I started with the specified 32.087 inches( let’s just call it 32 for simplicity) that still left quite a bit of slack which I wanted none of. Ultimately I landed on 28 inches. (4 inches shorter than the manufacturers specifications, which would have left way too much slack and given very little to no control authority over the wing!) 28 inched long was perfect for me! One must take into into account the possibility of any imperfections or discrepancies from the factory and quality control your lines may be shorter or longer from the factory than mine. my 28 inches might not be your 28 inches. My recommendation is start off with the specified number of 32 inches and see how much slack you have in your line. then continue dialing this in as necessary till all the slack is gone.

Dude! You are the only one I found that actually explained how to set the split aileron inputs for right and left. I was going crazy trying to figure it out on my NX8. My V2 has been sitting for weeks since I couldn't get the radio setup worked out. Going to maiden this afternoon - double thumbs up for you sir!
If you needed everything to fly it, how much?
let me price it out for you real quick give me a moment.....😎
@@sanfranciscobay well it will be your choice for transmitters/radio controller(same thing different verbiage or terminology) you could cheap out and get a radio and receiver combo for 50 bucks or you could treat yourself nice and get a spectrum radio for 250 bucks for a six channel radio. Long story short you could spend anywhere from $50 up to $1000 on a radio. There’s a lot of options for the radios. I would in vest in a good spectrum radio but that’s 250 dollars. The model itself is 179$ but shipping is free! The 3s 5200mAH battery is $35.99 invest in a good radio and receiver because that’s how you control all your models and program them as well. You want a 6+ channel or higher in general however this model only requires 4channels minimum. If you purchase just a four channel radio, you will outgrow it quickly and end up buying another radio soon so start with a six channel and you’ll have it for a while before you feel like upgrading.
@@sanfranciscobay 214.99 total for the battery and the model. Your choice of radio based on budget and needs. Ranging as low as 46 bucks for the cheapest possible radio and receiver and goes to the moon after that. my DX8 G2 radio is 380.00 bucks. 😬
Looks like fun and easy to fly.

@@plane1994 you are totally right!!! People need to understand the physics behind it and the science behind flight and how these ram air kites create lift and how these wings have leading edges and trailing edges and creating drag, causing it to turn one way or another in combination with proper throttle management to avoid pendulum swinging there are so many variables to be successful with this either on an RC scale model or the real thing. I also have tons of kiting experience with large 3,4,5 and 6 m traction kites. The more you understand about aviation and flight the better! Thanks for watching .
@@Line-of-sight-cinema yes, kites have no torq

My wife and kid, two cats, and dog packed up all our crap and made the trek to Grand Rapids Michigan. Living on my wife’s grandparents Farm has been a blessing and a fantastic place to raise our 1 1/2 year old boy! We miss Maryland. My mom and step dad still live in Maryland plus all my OG homies so I’ll have plenty of reasons to come back and visit! I miss you brother!!
Long time no see
It’s been way toooo long homie!!!! I moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan!
I have this and I had to put some of those sticky weights in the nose to get the CG right. I learned to fly with this plane when they first came out and I still fly it. This is a fun plane and is my windy day plane,
Two things were happening first, I was having a CG issue with the battery placement inside the compartment and the canopy not wanting to close if I put the battery too far forward and I ended up also having to do some mechanical trim adjustments to the servo horn because digital trim wasn’t cutting it
this or the apprentice stol 700mm as a beginner plane?
Honestly, that’s a really tough decision to make. The entire Apprentice lineup , high wing trainers with trike configuration have always been a fantastic starter/first plane. The only reason I would go with the pusher prop configuration over the apprentice is less broken props. Throughout all the years of learning to fly fixed wing RC, making simple mistakes, often results in broken props because of their placement directly in the front, a prop strike is inevitable. Having the prop in the rear is awesome, no more prop strikes when making a simple mistake that you would normally recover from and not break anything else except for a prop. Now with the Aeros out you can potentially have a soft crash or a medium crash and not break anything and never break any props. They both have their pros and their cons.
My first plane was an apprentice. It was awesome. I loved it. I just sold it recently. If the Aeroscout was around 15 years ago when I first got into the hobby, I probably would’ve bought that first.
very nice flying and landing. where did you get those lights?

Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it! The plane flys unbelievably smooth and super locked in! I had to do a small, mechanical trim adjustment on the servo horn for the elevator but after I adjusted that mechanically underneath the canopy which was super easy, everything was perfect! It kept wanting to pitch up(climb), and even with it fully trimmed( digitally on my transmitter)forward to counter act it wanting to climb, it just wasn’t enough. I decided to do a mechanical adjustment instead, which worked out beautifully. Other than that it was perfect! Sooooooooo floaty( great slow flying characteristics) then full throttle and it’s a rocket!!!!
It will do 4s as well! I’m very excited to rip a 4s lipo! It will scream!
Background music! Lol!!!!!
I contemplated not putting any music at all, and just having the sound of the plane and the props raw audio. But I caved and put in some really soft background music which I kind of regret now lol
you think I should’ve done it without it right? It totally takes away from the awesomeness of the plane All the sweet sounds, it makes.
