You can’t complain about gender bias and then imply that the company you work for has seemingly incorporated a gender bias into their staffing structure.

Keep your activism out of Journalism should be a good one going forward, I hate seeing an interview with someone interesting full of political pointed questions to trap gotcha moments.

🗣 “I remember I did a World Track Cycling Championships just before 2012 because we were really into it then and knew we were going to win lots of medals. It was a Friday night for the paper and we have early headlines on a Friday night. For a race that lasted 90 seconds, I had to write 900 words in 10 minutes, which sounds stupid, doesn't it? That sounds silly. But the guy who asked me didn't sound like he thought he was asking for anything ridiculous. So I said, well, of course, that's fine. It was like a miracle happened. When you're under that much pressure, you access parts of your brain you didn't know you had! So everything I'd read and learned came to the fore. So I could type very quickly with access to this information. In general conversation, I wouldn't have been able to access the information. But under the pressure of deadlines, it suddenly appeared in my head. And I was able to do it because there's no choice. And I suppose there’s two sorts of people: the sort of person who says, sorry, that's too ridiculous and stressful, I don't want to do that and then there's the person who thinks, well, that's ridiculous, but hey, let's give it a go, see what happens and has trust in the power of adrenaline.
