@@quentinkaalekahi2216 whats so hard to understand about his statement? He clearly stated that in his opinion, kukis (cook island maori people) are the best ukulele players
@@quentinkaalekahi2216 if you come to the cook islands, you will see that there are even better ukulele players than the ones shown here. Even in tahiti there are more remarkable players. This is coming from me as a cook island maori/samoan/tahitian
@@quentinkaalekahi2216 you're wrong. Many polys have the potential to be showcased as the best, but we are a minority and majority of the world are not exposed to our talents. Our strict cultures also restrict us from freely expressing our talents. Your statement is very vague. The ukulele skills you are associating with Portuguese ukulele players are very different to that of polynesian ukulele players. The playing styles vary enormously because polynesian ukulele skills and playing techniques are purely culturally based, whereas mainstream ukulele players go to music institutions to become globally recognized for their ukulele skills. The tahitian and cook island techniques of playing ukulele are very unique in comparison to the rest of the world, but you would not know because you also aren't familiar with the varying cook island and tahitian ukulele players and their skills. Search up "mahuta cook island ukulele". Hes my uncle and his ukulele skills are extraordinary .
@@quentinkaalekahi2216 wrong. This just proves that you have never heard hawaiian and tahitian/cook island ukulele players side by side. My grandfather is kanaka maoli of Hawaii. Hawaiian ukulele skills are definitely more simple than that of cook island and tahitian players. Its already known amongst all Polynesians that cook island maori and tahitians maohi are the best ukulele players.
