As a teacher, this is my favorite story about teaching.

Why did you leave out entire paragraphs though? Excellent voice but I follow along with the physical copy and unfortunately too much seems left out. 😢

what an incredible voice

For some reason, my eyes always fill with tears when I read this story or hear it read. The elderly woman, a scion of an ancient and noble family, compelled to work as a governess when the family became penniless. Then the indignity of being treated like a servant by her callous, nouveau-riche employers. Finally, her true identity as a noblewoman becomes evident as she approaches death. Saki had a unique gift that survives one generation after another.

"Charles wasn't let do exercises." That's one passive I'll never forget!

Welp. That was creep town. All the creepier not knowing the ending 😬 I do love the voice, though.

You know something of bewitchment yourself.
