When I wear a fake or knockoff of kislux , I feel proud knowing that I am not spending unnecessary money and I can look good while proudly supporting my family. As for the owners of designer brands, they have it all. There is no need to support them.

Well, I guess it’s still pretty warm in the beautiful Georgia area because my linens are folded and packed up because there’s no way with it being like 30° out whatever degrees that I will find the opportunity to wear those and I want them to be in good condition when the warm temps return. I am so in love with your oxford shoe collection. My favorite look this week. The first outfit is not appropriate for school. The top is too seethrough for school. Being well dressed includes wearing the appropriate outfit for the occasion.😢😢

Love your style!! I would get a lot of compliments on my style at work. I recently retired from the school district in my city. I miss finding things to wear to work. I never let the fact that I worked with kids stop me from wearing certain things.

I love shopping at thrift shops as matter of fact i was brought up on second hand clothes. It's not that my parents couldn't afford new ones. But, my mother just enjoyed the ideal of taking something used and making it her own. We were very stylist going to school.

I retired from teaching, I was told by a few teachers when I transferred to a school near my home, that we( other teachers) don’t dress like that here. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I wore dresses , blazer jackets, nice slacks, pumps , necklaces, bracelets, suedes, silks and leathers. They wore scruffy jeans and tshirts. I dressed for my students. They tell me now that’s the norm in most schools now., teachers dressing like they are going to a little football game or the laundromat.😢

I always said that the saying about giving something away or donating something that you haven't worn in 6 months to a year was a myth. The fact of the matter is, you may still actually like the item so why give it away when really, you are going to wear it eventually? Provided the item fits and it's still within the scope of your style, I say keep it. I love vintage and dated / classic clothes so for me nothing is ever old whether I bought the item 20 years ago and just now getting around to wearing it (like yesterday evening when I put on a vintage dress I bought about that rime range on a night out with my husband) or whether I bought the item over the weekend and making use of it within the same week. If it still your style and you love it keep it in the closet because the day will come when that very item comes to mind. Plus, I can always and do shop my closet(s) more frequently lately in order to make use out of my massive wardrobe.

I could not agree with you more in regards to dressing in the way that suits your style. I work in an environment where pretty much you can wear what you want provided you're within the office dress code. I am of the era where it was mandatory to wear business casual or professional/business attire when I gained my first professional job in the late 90's and into the early 2000s. The only time jeans were allowed in the office were on Fridays, which even then, it's not as though they meant jeans and a t-shirt or sweatshirt. I watched my mother wear her very nice skirt suits ranging in many colors to work, and she added her own flair to her look. I also watched my aunt dress for work and she had dresses of many colors and patterns and she added her own flair to her look as well. As I got older and found my own style, not to mention my exposure to working retail, it was nothing to me to get dressed for work. It's not a burden for me. Yet, over the years, as workplaces became more relaxed in their dress codes where employees can dress more casual and relaxed, my fellow co-workers and colleagues either looked at me as an oddity, overdressed, or they simply admired what I put on. I've actually had a couple of people approach me to tell me how "I don't have to dress up for work since we're allowed to dress casually" or how one "chose to not continue wearing his suits as he did in the beginning and began to dress casually for work since everybody else is doing so" as though I'm to conform to what everybody else is doing because of HIS choice. I've also had other people tell me how they like my shoe collection and how they also love shoes and have a nice shoe collection. Yet, when I encourage them to put some on to wear to the workplace, they retort to saying "Well I only wear them on weekends and not to the office because I want to be comfortable..." Look, when all is said and done, as long as we are all dressed appropriately per the office dress code, we should all leave each other to do what we want to do in the name of style. If I want to wear my stylish clothes to work that's within a more business casual or professional/business attire suited to my own style and flair and of course, even my "casual Fridays" have some flair to it, allow me to be me in my own style as well because I'm certainly not minding anyone else's style business.

Someone once asked me why I get so dressed up, she then went on about her dad doesn't pay attention. Then I said, I've been like this since Elementary School, I won't even go get 'just milk' without looking classy. She pretty much said, oh. I then told her, I don't even own jogging pants (I do now, I just bought a pair to wear with heels, lol). I remember back in highschool and my boyfriend wanted to come visit me, I said hell no, I'm still in pjs....lol.... I told my mother about the remark, she's like, honey, this is you, you have always been dressy.... I was the little girl with a dress on, always....and I wanted earrings on too. So this is me, over the top gal just to grab milk, lol....

I agree with you about not getting rid of stuff just because we don't wear it regularly. I do agree on donating clothes that no longer fit, or are a tad bit too worn or stuff that make you feel uncomfortable.... I use to hold on to so many clothes to the point I started storing it in other closets (invading other closets, really). I have a very hard time letting things go, but slowly I've been donating and I'm ok, I haven't been missing anything I've donated... Thanks for sharing your haul, always a pleasure to watch. Also, wanted to let you know that I think your ootd are lovely.
