Patreon - www.patreon.com/JellyFishMachine I found this engine in a magazine and just had to build it! Designed by the great George Britnell, if you don't know about him, this guy has done some just amazing stuff! craftsmanshipmuseum.com/artisan/george-britnell/ Plans: www.modelengineeringwebsite.com/Britnell_steam_engine.html Some of the tools and supplies I use: These are Amazon Affiliate lin...
I Make This Tiny 2-Stroke Engine From Scratch
Просмотров 2,1 млн6 месяцев назад
Let's make ourselves a tiny little model airplane engine! The engine is 0.1cc (.006 ci) displacement and we will explore two different types of fuel. Thanks to Richard Gordon for the designing the engine and making the plans available! Mass produce the parts, needing only assembly
25:25 you didn’t try limiting/restricting air intake with your finger? sorry, man, but dads teach that sort of thing
I'm inspired!
बहुत अच्छा video है 💗🙂
👀👀👀👍👍
Nice❤😊

Awesome!))

Hoat dong tot
Now make a tiny wood gasifier that could fit inside of a 1/12 scale truck. lol also it needs to be able to accommodate a tiny v8 engine that costs way too much as well.
The best I've done with steam was when I was like 13 I used an aluminum can, sick absorbers from an rc car and some LEGO technic pieces. It did not output enough power to move the assembly though, so I deemed it as a failure. I then got into the pneumatic Technic sets and then mindstorms series of Lego robotics. Man I miss tinkering with stuff now all I mess around with is RC stuff and a lil bit of action figures. I might break out some of my old building sets. Damn I'm rambling, time for bed.
I believe this to be a 1cc engine, not 0.1 which is 10 times smaller..................
Amazing talent
Esse merece meu respeito, conhece muito de mecânica e ao que parece é ourives ou relojoeiro, simplesmente espetacular. Parabéns pelo excelente trabalho.👏👏👏
I don't have much time to watch youtube nonsense. But your videos captivate me each time amazing work and I'm and engineer that dabbles with machine work for a living.
no gaskets needed?
Piece of art
Those little computer diagrams are very helpful.❤
Perfect job!. That lathe is CNC?. What si the brand?. Congratulations for the channel.
So if you want to be a model aeroplane enthusiast, you must also be a superb machinist, must possess high quality machine tools and lots of money and time. A very expensive and exacting hobby.
The coolest engine I've ever seen by far...awesome craftsmanship..id love to buy this myself and put it together
I've flipped over you. You're the best . .❤❤ l am korean
Impressive, most impressive.🤔 good craftsmanship.👌 Boy I would like to stick that to a little model train. Or model Paddle Wheel boat.
Radial when
Excellent!
Thank you. I really enjoyed watching this build. Great work!!
Big frown face at 18:07 😞
Excellent machining video! I noticed that your boring bar setup in the tool post block is something I believe I invented over 20 years ago. I’m a clockmaker and I needed a way to bore out a mainspring barrel bushing. Sherline didn’t have a good setup to hold boring bars, so I flipped my single bit tool post block around and bored and reamed a 1/4 hole and added two cap crews to hold the tool in. I wanted to use cheap carbide router bits for boring bars and it worked like a dream. I shared the idea on the Clocksmiths listserve of which one of the Sherline mucky mucks was a member. Six months later Sherline lathes were coming out with the feature already on the lathe, but I believe they have discontinued doing so now for some reason I don’t know. Your ability to get such a fine finish on the Sherline is a testament to your machining ability.
Now do it blind folded
In 1978, Anchorage AK, my late friend, Frank Gross who was an outstanding RC airplane builder and Machinist would build compression ignition heads for the old Cox 049 model airplane engines. You just pulled the glow plug head off and screw the compression head on. Done. If I remember correctly, Frank was the national speed champion for control line airplanes in the late 60s.
Outstanding work sir. A work of art and function. Well done.
You are something else!! Amazing man :)
You should make a flat twin
20:00 👍
I cut my teeth on engines like the cox 0.049", and later larger stuff, so have a lot of experience with things like worn out engines, and getting things to start. As far as improvements to your work, I feel like you don't have enough compression. Also, an easy way to help you get started is to use a RC starter motor. They make products for about $40. Or you could just make one.
Wow, this was a fabulous demonstration of machining. I am in awe of these skills, a masterclass, by a master. Thank you for sharing.
I will say, I did prefer the talking/narration throughout. It was nice to be able to follow along and hear your thoughts about all of it =)
Yes 👆
making a 4, 6 or 8 cylinder would be insane i loved this video so much please keep it up with videos like this
With any good healthy glow engine you need pinch in the piston sleeve. From what I watched I didn’t see how you were able to machine that in? Look into it and you’ll have that thing ripping in no time.
It could be more challenging if you build a radial engine :)
build a 4 stroke and bit large. so that it can run as long as you want
I stumbled across this channel and I was definitely not disappointed.
Gotta love youtube's new feature, automatic fast forward assistance
Fine Craftsmenship !
These milling machine workshops are like magic, just making pristine mechanical parts from scratch like that.
And your day job is either eye surgery or brain surgery. Wow, what steady hands and such patience. BRAVO
Жаль что многие кружки по авиамоделированию закрылись. Я почти доделал свой кукурузник на радиоуправлении
These engines were a pain to start. OS engines are the best
Very very neat! What is the typical efficiency of such an engine?
