    The point of the video was to show how to make the file, not how to print it. The settings differ from machine to machine. However, I printed at 1.6mm layers, 25% infill (it's basically all wall tho), obvs no supports, and no plate adhesion. Good luck

    A good idea, also print mandrel out of PETG or ABS if possible. Nylon and PETG made very good springs, PLA isn't great over time because it micro fractures and water gets into it over time, this is why it suddenly breaks coming off the spool, areas that have been unwrapped prior times.

      Indeed i do. If @user64x still havent figured it out, no it wont. like at all. actually it will make it even stronger, since the plastic will get annealed. it will get a tiny bit wet, but you wont be printing with those springs anyway.

      I’m in full agreement. Keep this up. This is the path I’m going down and you presented some great information. If I might suggest, as I haven’t seen anyone else on this subject do it? Even with the nuts encapsulated in the print, vs heat set inserts and other methods, each supports a certain level of torque. Over torquing the connection will lead to failure. Knowing what level is supported, on each method, is good knowledge when choosing joining methods. I’d like to see that, incorporated as well if such thing interests you. Either way, subscribed, great presentation sir.

    3D prints are fine for dry foods. There was a study on the safety of 3D prints when they were being used during COVID as mask frames and face shield hardware, and the study found that prints are safe if you clean them like you would anything else. It could be argued that it's fine for wet foods if you scrub the print right after use with warm soap and water, use a small enough layer height and program in some over extrusion for slightly better squish; it would also be a good idea to sand the print and anneal it.

  • @reuke
    @reuke Месяц назад

    The last one is incorrect, IMO. 3D printing guns is a perfect way to secure the right to bear arms for Americans and might be the only option for people in other countries with less freedom. I wouldn't call it dangerous either. With today's 2A3D community, the quality of designs is improving all the time. Modern designs of 3D printed firearms are as dangerous as regular firearms. One could argue that sometimes not having a firearm is far more dangerous than being illegally armed. Gun control is dead, in the words of the legend himself: "Live free or die".

    you can optimize the organizer to use less material and time. If you switch to a 0.8mm nozzle and print 0.8mm walls itll be strong, use very little material and print in like an hour or so. that may only be worth it if you make a lot of them. Like if you planned to sell them among other things online

    Printing your own stuff gives you more satisfaction though 😅. I could buy wings for my bike on temu for 20 bucks. I decided to print them using expensive polycarbonate for 40 bucks. But i made them fit perfectly and i did fluid dynamic simulations so they have actual functionality. It just makes me feel better about them even though they cost me 100 hours of design, development, print time and effort. Some.thing are just worth it.
