On the Biesse Rover 24 with XNC control software, the tools need to be measured manually. If there are machines out there that have a touch-off sensor please let me know. This is a feature I haven't heard of.

I seem to recall that one of the machine PLC start screens has a picture of a world map. If you click on the world map it will allow you to change the language of the program. I hope this helps...

@@thecrazycncguy7500 the program starts automatically when i turn on the power switch on the back of the machine. And also it has a "Launch" and "Terminate" buttons in the windows Start menu. If i double-click them, the CNC applications start or stop.

@@IonutGrigo What PLC software do you have? When the start screen comes up, does it have an "XNC" logo or a "BiesseWorks" logo?

I am working on buying it from the company I used to work for. So I may have it within the next month.

Omar, what software is the Rover 30 running? Is it XNC1000? Is it running Biesseworks? The computer at the CNC machine determines what post processor you have to use. All my videos for biesse deal with really old programs on the machine. I don't know Biesseworks, which is newer. My machine has XNC1000 running at the CNC machine computer.

It all comes down to the G-code your laser controller is running. If you know the make of the laser then start with that company's documentation for what custom G-code is needed to run the laser. Then you'll need to find or write a post-processor that incorporates those G-code commands appropriately. Then add the post-processor into blenderCAM. Then .....I should probably make a video about post-processors, shouldn't I. Since I have a could lasers now I should investigate this. I will update when there is progress. Good Luck! Lee

OMG! I missed your comment! I think this is a problem in the folder and file names. Be sure to not have any spaces or special characters in the names of folders and files for everything talked about in this video. Sorry again for missing the comment! Good Luck!

Thats really weird. I haven't run into that in a successful install. In a few of my earlier attempts I realized that the version of Blender can make the BlenderCAM fail. So the only thing I can suggest is try a different version of the base Blender you install BlenderCAM on. Try installing the add-on on a different version of blender. Good luck!

Hi EdRusi! The computer came with the machine and it already had Win XP installed. What NC software version are you on? What machine are you running? Is a Rover 24 like the one in the videos? I know Biesse sells a new computer but they run XP on a virtual box because the software that is needed to run the machines is so old. I am running NC1000. I don't know what NC500 looks like but I know it exists. Let me know and thanks for checking in!

Hey Rich...I would checka bunch of stuff. Start with the air pressure, make sure you have the recommended pressure to getting to the machine.Then I would check all the mushroom E-Stops, make sure none of them are pushed in. Make sure nothing is sitting on safety pressure mats. My shop-vac "Dusty" sometimes sits on the safety mat and can halt progress. Next, check foot cable E-Stops. These notoriously fill up with dust and can feel like they are cleared but dust is holding them from contacting. This could be with gate latches on fencing, too. If you have an optic sensor, check that it is seeing the marker without obstructions, or maybe it got misaligned. Something is triggering the emergency circut. Good luck and let me know if it helps!

Hey Lachlan! My first thought is that there are two folders named very similarly. If you are for sure the editor is looking in the correct folder my only other thought is the issue that Win XP has with file names. if you have the wrong extentions (yourfile.anc) then it may not see the file. Likewise if the file name has spaces in it like (your file.anc) it won't work or if you have extra dots like (your.file.anc) that won't work either. When I teach young people that have never dealt with XP they look at me crosseyed and think I'm just being OCD about file naming structure. Then they run in to these types of problems. Look for a guide for Win XP file naming rules and see if any of these are being broken. An example name of a file I might send is as follows: JOB_1234_1of4_3qtrPLY.anc which translates as the job name / job number / first of four sheets of code / material to be cut. Hope this helps!

@thecrazycncguy7500 Thanks heaps. You were right. There was a duplicate folder hidden deep in the computer, took ages to find it. Thanks again. I'm using aspire software, any tips on getting the tooling correct. Biesse saying there's a magazine error, programmed tools unavailable, what am I doimg wrong. Any help would be awesome, complete newbie haha

@@lachlangibbs-lz1gb the name of the tool in the Aspire tool table has to match the name in the Biesse. Go into the tooling in Aspire and find something like "tool notes" or "Details" Also - go to the Biesse and find the tool in the tool table and write down exactly how it is named. @@thecrazycncguy7500 Hey mate. From Australia so along way away. I had to type the tool name into the code manually in editor, so not sure what I was doing wrong in aspire itself. Now I have another error code "220. Speed or acceleration nil". So I'm assuming I have to change the code somewhere to set the speed or acceleration. No idea how though. Any tips?

Hi Dennis - There isn't a biesseworks for this age of machine. Did the machine come with AlphaCAM on a separate computer? Email me at lee.bernard@mogpm.com and I might have a work-around for you. Otherwise you might already have a full setup and just need the parts sorted out. Take a look at my other videos, they might help

Hi S Hofer, I don't know on the Rover 37 but on the Rover 24 if we pause the program by stepping on the mat, we push the green softkey "start" button and the program resumes. On the 24 the start button is between "stop" and "reset". Hope this works for you!

@@thecrazycncguy7500 the videos are great! Did you manually disable the floor mats? I’m setting my machine up now and wondering if I need them.

@@garymccraner1129 we disabled one of them. The other one is still functional. This machine makes fast traverses and can punch your lights out if you are standing next to the table. The mats work with a trickle current if I remember correctly. To disable I had to put a resistor between two pins in the pigtail that connects to the mat.

@@thecrazycncguy7500 I operate it using a computer, a screen, a mouse and a keyboard and the machine takes the tool by itself and measure it by itself. I wouldn't even know how to start a rover 24 lol. I got scared a bit at first when I watched a few videos and I see that screen with so many buttons I thought OMG that looks hard , why am i not learing that ?what I am doing doesn't look like that at all but then I realised, it must be an older model. Using a newer one doesn't necessary means better. Maybe a bit clearer and less noisier but the lack of physical buttons might be a downer for some people. All I have is a screen and the emergency buttons
