Probably getting to be one of my favorite locos ~ at least until your next video. But there is no denying the power of Merddin. Great finish to this series. Tom Rolt was coming towards you on the bridge, and not puffing much steam. All of a sudden the steam started pouring out faster until it enveloped the camera at 2:30. Very impressed with that shot. Great eye capturing many distinguished sequences in all your videos. Thanks for the series, Will. Excellent video! Smooth running loco. Sir Haydn was built in 1878. Lovely condition. Hard to believe there are two other locos that are even older. Great legacy from Sir Henry Haydn Jones and all the employees/volunteers, and craftsman that have kept these beautiful machines in top working order. Enjoyed the video. Thanks!

Excellent video Will! I read about the history of the Double Fairlies and Spooner''s involvement with the railroad all resulting in Merddin Emrys being built by the amazing workers at Boston Lodge. Incredible treat to see this loco in service. After looking at a photo from the 1950's ~ it sure appears to be back to the original design. A very grand 144 year old! Enjoyed the video. Thanks!

I can only imagine the thrill of actually being a passenger - feeling the rumble, the smell of coal heating the water for steam, and hearing the sweet notes while indulging the sights of your majestic countryside. Great video Will! Incredible to see Lyd starting from a full stop. To see and hear the change in the flowing steam and smoke is amazing.
