2017 Chevy Malibu bad brake booster/sensor, reoccurring problem
Time to sell or trade in... I bought new pads,new master cylinder, new booster,new brake pump,new sensor..and within 2 months, the problem came back..each time I spent $600-$800...Code P0556...Faulty design by GM...(UPDATE as of 6/21) there was pieces of metal that got wedged in the engine causing the brakes to fail...I spent $1,000 at the dealer to fix...been driving right ever since👍

    I had a car accident 2 months ago, The breaking was hard and griddy when coming to a complete stop but breaks would never grab to stop. Gm refused to fix my damages. Smh I’m in a rock and a hard place because so many ppl are having these problems and Chevrolet don’t want acknowledge their mistake.

    2016 Malibu...This past week 9/27/22 You'll be thrilled to know that Firestone got me for almost $1500. They charged me $800 for front brake pads and rotors. THE VERY NEXT DAY, I was coming home late at night. I stopped at Taco bell directly across the street from Firestone. as I pulled out of the driveway, I was unable to push all the way down on the brake! I heard a clunking noise and scraping metal. Because it was late at night, I had no choice but to make it home. I took the car back other next day. They said my check engine light came on, and it will cost me $99 dollars to diagnose. After I was told there would be no charge to see what was going on. Then they called tell me they got a code P0556 Saying it indicated a BAD BRAKE BOOSTER. I called Chevy Service Dept and they said that part rarely goes out! goes out. So, I called firestone, and they changed it to they got a code P0556 the BRAKE BOOSTER SENSOR need to be replaced for $400, then they had to order it! Supposed to get the car back today. This check engine light has been on almost since I had this car and Chevy was aware. It's an intake code that has nothing to do with the brakes Thats the code Firestone quoted me in the first place. I called them on that shit telling them that I knew the history of that code. Thats when they came up with the pressure code sensor code P0556 and said my car is unsafe to drive! Ater watching this video it could be the problem but NOT EVEN 24 HOUR OF ROTOR AND PAD REPLACEMENT? Something is wrong with this picture. They can tell it to the BBB. As soon as I get my car back, I'm filing a complaint and selling it. NO MORE CHEVY for me, for other minor reasons but one it too many. And btw YT made me edit my true feelings on this post.

      @@drespencer5712 I'M BAAAAACK! Oct. 1, 22. I didn't get my car back today. Firestone says now it's still unsafe to drive and now I need a VACUUM PUMP! Oh it gets better. This is a very hard part to find, and they checked with 20 of their contact/ vendors and no one can help. Let me remind you, these are companies that are older than me (59), and Firestone and Chevy and no help or results. Wrong chick to mess with...... The manager at firestone told me "IF I CAN FIND THE VACUUM PUMP MYSELF, he will install it for free. Real talk! First of all, I called them this morning. I was hoping for a call from Firestone, telling me the sensor was installed and my car is ready. I am sounding all alarms and the claws are out. While online I discovered discontinued parts, changed part numbers, delivery dates month out, lot of unavailable notifications. In addition I found a lawsuit for the 2017 Chevy Malibu vacuum pump and a huge recall for a variety of Chevy vehicles vacuum pumps! As it stands, I think I found three places that I might score a part from. I'll know Monday. If you have a source, please holla. uber is getting rich off of me. Stay tuned, I'm raising roof!

    I almost had 2 accidents because of chevys bad design...so the oil that lubes the brakes comes from the engine then goes down to the brakes...so if your engine is low on oil or your way pass due for an oil change...the black crud that builds up blocks the oil that goes to the brakes causing the pump to break...and that's what happen..pieces of the pump got stuck in the engine causing brake failer...cost me $1500 @ the Chevy dealer...but come subscribe to my RUclips music channel @ TOF...Maaja

    Thanks for your comments...well the problem was a piece of metal broke off the pump that sits on the side of the engine...then went in the engine and started all the problem...got it fixed $1500 at the Chevy dealer... lucky it was at the top part of engine...would've cost $3800 if the metal was deeper inside ...ran perfect afterwards...but I eventually sold it... please subscribe to my new RUclips music channel,thanks for your support.....@TOF...Maaja

    My brake pedal got hard. I watched some videos and replaced the pump. It was broken inside. But the new one made the car work fine again. But the same day on the way home my pedal got hard again. I checked the pump and no suction.im guessing its broken again but why?

    • @drespencer5712
      @drespencer5712 Год назад

      Sorry for late response....the broken metal came from the vacuum pump....that sits on the left side of the engine..from a driver perspective....so if u don't keep the oil clean or keep the oil full this will happen...if the oil gets too black it causes the oil not to flow...then break
