Old Gods of Asgard - Herald of Darkness (Extended Game Version)
Another masterpiece (both the game and the song) that I wanted to make an extended game version. I have included if not all, almost every guitar solo.
The only part I have not included is the jazz part that Alan Wake sings before the end (it would make the song even longer).
The game uses the same logic as Control - as you move through the stage the music changes dynamically.

After the feedback I got from my first attempt to create the extended version from the game, I created this one which has the correct order of the lyrics and some minor changes in the track. I wanted to put the solos together but my thinking was to try and keep the same feeling the game does by playing them a bit randomly. I hope it sounds better! Enjoy! I can't believe this game was already released and I thought it was still in development I guess I thought wrong and still need to get it time is sneaking up on me I still got the original Alan Wake during Windows 7 when it lost the copyright license to it oh snap I am getting older guys.

YES, true masterpieces indeed, the game and the songs!! This Extended Game Version is soooo good, with all these guitar riffs and solos in those instrumental bridges between the main parts! And then when one of the guitar solos from the original version play and I recognize it, it feels so good! And the part at 9:12 is so crazy and emotional!! I doesn't feel like I've heard it before. I know of OrangeC's "Complete In-Game Version" that is 25 minutes long and that should include everything from what the description says, and it looks like it's the same person who you got the stems from! I love that you made your own mix and extended version. It's quite perfect! With how it skips the jazz part and continues directly with the epic finale, too..! Thanks a lot for this, I'm saving it and putting it on my MP3 player for listening ^.^ Long live Old Gods of Asgard!! I just bought 3 t-shirts from their official store (including the Herald of Darkness one!) along with the CD of Rebirth, I'll be patiently awaiting for them to arrive and then I'll be repping the band. In the NG+ of the game (spoilers ahead) Tor and Odin say that they are done with the real world but that they and Saga will meet again soon (probably in the DLCs). Looks like they're spending their retirement playing music in many worlds (including our own, hehe) thanks to Warlin Door and the power of the Dark Place..! The eye of the darkness beckons!
Once again thank you for your kind words. I've listened carefully every file again and tried not to repeat any part from the solos as it would make it "boring" and also to include every "unique" part from the solos. This song has way too many solos than Control's song and it's easy that you miss something. The jazz part is nice too, but I felt to keep the "heat" on. OrangeC's "Complete In-Game Version" I have heard it too. This version is good too but the only issue is that in the end the sound is not very good. If it is the same guy from reddit that posted the stems then he did a great job extracting them and for sure I had to give him credits since this, it takes time to find which files contain those stems.

Thank you so much for this!! This is a new version/edit of this momentous song that I can appreciate now as a massive fan of it! I love all these additions from the "dynamic live mixing" that you can do inside the game, now present here. I only wish that my favorite "extended" part would be present here, I mean the guitar riffs at 3:58, they actually are repeated and that part lasts longer if you wait before passing through that door to the next zone (you can hear it at 5:47 in v=VxL2bMM-JL0). I'm such a fan of those aggressive riffs. But nonetheless this is awesome, I'm saving it, as well as the Re-Edited version that you shared! (wow, uploaded 2 days ago, I arrive here just in time it seems!) Stellar work parsing through all those files and using those programs to build this, truly commendable, this is very appreciated! ❤

The truth is that with the every part splitted you can do almost unlimited combinations with the guitar parts since all parts literally can connect together. Unfortunatelly for me, I'm not that creative to begin with, meaning that my guide was the game itself. Still I'm pleased with the result and that's why I wanted to share. I will make another "extended" version of the new masterpiece from Old Gods of Asgard - Herald of Darkness (from Alan Wake II - it uses the same logic as the Ashtray Maze). The guitar solos there are truly unique. I will try to combine them as much as I can without make the song too "boring" and over-extended.

Oooh I'm glad that you're following up on Alan Wake 2 as well!! Truth is I just finished the game recently and then proceeded to check out all the stuff on the newly made channel of Old Gods of Asgard on RUclips, and also to come back and see if there was new edits for Take Control around, and that's how I found your video. Hello everyone and Happy New Year! First of all, I want to THANK YOU each and every one of you for your comments and constructive feedback. I really appreciate it! Truth to be told, the lyrics may be somehow "scrambled" but this is from what I was hearing during the game so I tried to "copy/paste" it here but it may not sound that good. What I've done is that by staying in certain "areas" for longer I could hear the extended parts of the song before triggering the next part of the song while moving. Due to my very limited time, it is hard for me to edit another video. It will require to re-upload a new one actually since RUclips does not let you edit the sound of an already uploaded video. Things only Remedy Studios and Sam Lake could create. Bummer they hired untalented external writers for Alan Wake II, and they honestly ruined a lot of the game. I just hope Control II and Max Payne remakes will have none of this BS, but it is up to Sam Lake.

This is incredible! I'm pretty okay with music myself, could you tell me how you got these files out so I can try and assemble them on my own end as well? While the editing itself is a weakness of mine, I generally have a great sense for where different musical phrases should belong and such, and some rhymes are swapped in this version, which slightly detracts from the intensity. There are also some minor timing issues, but nothing too bad. Either way, this is amazing! I'd just love to have a crack at it myself, or even as a team project.
