    I forgot to mention that you can put 1 channel in passthrough then right-click on it and select “apply to all channels” instead of doing all channels one by one 🙂

    So what about... tesselation? Can we dynamically subdivide the mesh where more detail is needed with the displacement?

      this is an old video, needs nanite enabled for tessellation to work properly in 5.3. In 5.4 it's enabled by default (experimental).

    Hi, great video! I was wondering how you would do this with normals instead of decals. I have an prop which I plan to sculpt but want to use tiling materials. Is it possible to apply the sculpted normals and apply the normals from the tiling materials at the same time using 2 uv sets? Thank you

      Hello, yes of course. I've used this technique several times. For example I had a fountain with 2 Uv Set, the first for normal baked (for smooth edges and small details like cracks etc) and the second uv set for the trimsheet :) You can see this example here : www.artstation.com/artwork/6b8Kg5

      @@JustFun-tv5er In your Material shader, you can : 1) plug your first Normal map (tiling material for example) in a "BlendAngleCorrectedNormals" node 2) After that plug your second normal map (baked details for example) in the "AdditionalNormal" pin of the Blend 3) Make sure to also plug a "Texture Coordinate" node in the "UVs" pin of your second normal map and set the Coordinate Index to 1 if your using your second UV Set for the baked details :) It will blend the 2 normals, one on the first uv and one on the second uv. (Unreal start from 0 so UV 0 = tiling material and UV 1 = baked details for example). If you don't want to do 2 UVs, you can do a classic high to low baking workflow and just blend a tri-planar normal on top of your baked normal with the same "BlendAngleCorrectedNormals" node. (For the tri-planar normal, the simpliest way is to convert this normal to a "Texture Object" with a right click on it, plug it in the first pin of the node "WorldAlignedTexture" and plug the XYZ Texture pin to the "BlendAngleCorrectedNormals" ) Hope it helps ^^

      no it will not work because UE4 does not have the new input system in UE5
