Won’t be strangers in my house!

The murderous once humans were referred to as ‘gouls’ in this film, and the way that this narrative developed seemed to me the way an emergency like this would actually happen. Not a fan of ‘zombies’ or movies that are silly, this one was different. I thought that it was a good movie, and it was taken seriously by the actors. The action unfolded as if this was really happening.

I watched this movie many years ago, and was very impressed with the courage ,integrity, compassion and honour, the Japanese had,but it saddened me when I found out the way they treated prisoners during the Second World War,

I saw this film many years ago. Loved it then, years later Holywood made The magnificent seven. Good for its day but a copy of the Japanese movie.

Next week on November 12th, Criterion Collection releasing Seven Samurai on 4K. I have it on Blu-ray, but might still get the 4K.

Enjoyed very much, puzzled for a moment by a sudden discovery of so many left handed samurai.

Seeing this superb production on TV on a wet Sunday in 1961 inspired my interest in Japan and the taking up of Kendo, then Iaido & Kenjitsu. Now at 75, still my favourite watch, and watched many times! Why is the footage reversed I wonder; copyright issues?
