As usual, you are using wrong engine oil with wrong spec. 1.5 and 1.6 TDi require VW 505.01 approval for protection of cam lobes and lifters under high pressure. Shell helix ultra in the open market is VW 505 approval which is very old spec. Only Shell oil in VW service center has 505.01 spec. And 505.01 is not backwards compatible with 505. Best oil in my view is Amsoil Euro 5W40 MS and Liqui Moly Top Tec 4100 5W40. Slightly expensive but engine becomes very quiet and smooth. Do try it at least once.
