I was a child in the 70s when I first heard this amazing group. I saw them live when I was 25 and laughed so hard I thought I would explode. I’m now 51 and still laugh like crazy. We need them to make a giant comeback…. PLEASE!!

I had a TV show from the 1980s on VHS and it hat had a 'proper' musical number in it too. For those who don't know, their main thing was spoofs & mick takes of popular bands.

Only discovered the Barron Knights, in their second return to fame in the late 1970s. Was even more surprised that they did most of their recordings in my home town of Wellingborough, and I knew their recording studio engineer through my new hobby of Amateur Radio. I actually thought they were a bit naff when I first heard them.....until I really listened and realised how clever and versatile they really were. Since that time, my wife and I have attended no end of their concerts, and every time have come away after a really enjoyable evening. The group are still just going with founder member Pete 'Peanut'Langford, and long time replacement bassist/vocalist Mickey Groome. If you get the chance to go and see them, do it, before they finally retire. Not for no reason did the big stars say that they hadn't made it unless they'd been aped by the Barron Knights, and the group earned the nickname 'The Guvnors' by those groups. :)

They may not have been rockstars but they were bloody brilliant musicians.

Only time I heard them live was at a circus!
