Darkness | Jam #77 | Polyend Tracker
So I've recently been made redundant and have had difficulty in finding work. This has led to not being very happy right now and I felt a desire to work on a jam. This is the result and I feel it's quite appropriate to my current mood.
Either way, maybe some of you would enjoy this. Some may not.
I would highly recommend a decent set of headphones or studio monitors, as a lot of the audio is quite low frequency/deep.
PS. This is my first jam using my Polyend Tracker! What a lovely machine to work with! For this jam I also used the radio feature and recorded some perfectly appropriate vocals that matched my feelings.

I was interested in using the Microfreak as the only sample device to record into the Blackbox, hoping something useful comes out of it. So just got my hands on a Boss RC-505 MK1 and thought I'd try my hand with my extremely limited skills and knowledge to use it with synths, instead of my voice. Believe me, you're better off with that. I used the MPC One as my virtual synths and drums and live recorded them into the RC-505. I'll need a drum machine for them and I was looking at RD-6, but may be the Volca Drum is the better choice for that? It can do anything the Behringer RD-6 can do , right,? And much more on top of that.

Can you export patterns as midi files to import into a DAW?
As far as I'm aware, I don't think so..
There's definitely an "Audio Export" in the system menu settings, which can send each track as a stem.... i was assuming that if the track was a midi track, the midi pattern would be the thing that would come through, but IT doesn't actually say this in the manual 🤔🌌

Very cool soundscapes. Very dark and minimal! This is pretty what I'm looking to do to accompany my Digitakt/Digitone combo for Tribal dark Ambient music; just something to play very long sampled field recordings and some one shots for elements. Would you suggest the Blackbox over something like, say, the Roland SP404mk2? I know the Blackbox has tons more storage space for audio than the SP. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for listening! The blackbox has it's uses indeed, but I think the SP404mk2 would beat it by far with FX. I guess it depends on how much you use those FX. I don't have one so can't compare unfortunately. Other than that, the blackbox is excellent for many reasons. I've not tried using my 'takt with the blackbox, but that's an interesting thought...
@@SenseiJams What's tipping toward the BB is the 1 terabyte max storage. I could potentially keep all my preset files and a whole library in there without going back and forth to a PC for more stuff. Longer soundscapes WAVs can get pretty big and I would not have to worry about space, ever. I could also have more that a 16 min cap for audio file playback on the BB which would be great for a lengthy jam. As far as effects go, I would probably route my pads appropriately to one of the three outputs of the BB and effect them with my outboard pedals as needed. I'd have to see if it would be more of a hassle doing it that way compared to the SP404mk2 and it's internal effects. The 16GB + 32GB on the Roland might be enough space, but when projects build up... who knows. Just wish the external storage could be upped a bit, then I'd probably be sold in the SP

I was looking at both machines together. How is the sound design possibilities on those 2 ? Easy ? Limitless ? Are the drums good on the 8bit warp ? Im looking for a FM machine to go with my MPC One, which one would you suggest between the 2 ?
I think the M:C has a distinct FM tone but overall sounds great. The 8Bit Warps only has a 2 OP FM but is still fairly good, but different. I think they work well together really. Depending on your cash, I'd rather splash out for the Digitone or the new Syntakt.
