WHY DID YOU SAING WILBUR GOLD MAJE ME SO MAD LIKE I JUST YELLED IT WILLIM GOLD
yoo this is a good video!!!!
I swear I thought life is strange 1 had the brothers and life is strange 2 mad Max and Chloe, and that everyone hated LIS2 because Chloe was insufferable.
06:50 I only now noticed George in that video ...
U know this video won’t make sense when it has residential evil on a franchise and gameplay that has nothing to do with it mechanics way to diff too
watching this after shelby spoke out about him is so interesting. its funny how for all the manipulative traits he had, he was able to convince his fans that he was either "just acting" or that it was from his past and that he had completely moved on from it.
Darkest secret is that wilbur bites people
It was never a secret.
That’s funny you mentioned that to save the series the devs need to continue LIS 1. Cause that’s what they decided to do it seems lol
I couldn’t get over the fact how stupid the entire premise was. Even if the cops are super racist, there was no way in the world they could pin a cop murder on Sean (a 15 year old throwing cars upside down and causing minor explosions with no evidence?), so him running was plain stupid and unnecessary. And then him still getting 15 years at the end of the game is just bs
Weellllllĺllllllllllll
wilbur gold lmao (its william gold no offence )
Nuh uh bro .isten to a qna
Holy sh*t that makes so much sense!!!
Bro called it
With the current situation about him, the songs really did reveal his deeper feelings.
"Abused while i learned" "while i ostracized the ones who loved me" now we know what he meant by that.
It’s incredible how much Wilbur has been through. Even more incredible to see how it’s expressed through his lyrics
WHAT? I THOUGHT THE LYRICS FOR YOUR SISTER WAS RIGHT WAS 'abuse thats our love'
I relate to the emotions in the songs. I relate to Wilbur in general, honestly. I also like the stories in the songs. Idk, I feel like the only non-fangirl lol.
Off topic, but i’ve never heard someone say Sex Sells was their best song
I find this funny because iirc in Wilbur and Quackity's most recent wine stream, Wilbur said he wrote Sex Sells in like, a short car ride or something. It might've been One Day he was talking about, I don't remember, but it was one of the two lmao
Someone needs to tag Wilbur in this video
I loved Lis 2 the most of all Lis games and I know a lot people don’t really like it but this game has a special place in my heart. It changed my perspective of life the most and I’m still not fully recovered from the end. Bro I cried like a little kid for an hour. I had the most fun and emotions with lis 2 and I don’t really care if you agree or not (Thanks for the video❤)
I agree 100% with just about everything you stated in this video. My personal problem about this game was that it in all honesty just lacked all of the elements that LiS 1 and Before the storm had; fleshed out characters with their own interests, passions, just in general lives, personalities, et cetera. Suspense, as in how much your choices will effect you and quite literally your motivation for one or the other and how it is never necessarily easy because both/all options have their own weight. But like you stated in the video, there literally isnt any reason to surrender at the end of the game. If you pick to kill the cops your just repeating what you did for several episodes. There isn’t anything making you want or feel the need to surrender, so much so that it isnt even an option. I didn’t even feel remorse. thats how much it didn’t matter. Unlike in LiS, at the end of the game, when you are burdened with the choice of saving Chloe or Arcadia bay, its really something you have to think about. Both of the options have their advantages, saving Chloe would mean you get to live your life with your best friend in your comfort, but having everyone else you cared about in die (Kate?, Joyce, Warren, etc) or saving Arcadia bay and having all stated people and more live, but at the cost of having Chloe, one of the most important people in your life, die thinking that you left her without looking back. Like the rest of the people in her life. And for that, makes it such an incredibly well-written yet difficult game. You have to put thought into your decisions or else you will LITERALLY have consequences, unlike in LiS 3, where you kind of just do the same thing per every episode and your choices really dont have much an impact on you or the people around you at all whatsoever. Also, im not sure who actually survived the storm, i know david did, but i assume most of the characters died. Which is still horrible to say the least.
I’m at 0:01 and wth resident evil gotta do with lis???
I tried to like LiS2, I think I got to maybe the start of episode 4? (I remember hanging out with the hippies) but it just didn't quite hit like the first game and I found it kind of boring to not play as the one who has the powers. I played True Colors and enjoyed that well enough to finish it but maaaan, LiS1 and Before the Storm just hits all the notes that are perfect for this style of game. Which isn't to say LiS1 is a masterpiece as the main character and Chloe have their faults but the story that played out with them was something; I still think about the Kate Marsh roof scene years after I beat the game for the first time.
LiS2 definitely killed the series for me. The original I binged all in one night I was up until 6am playing so I was incredibly excited for the sequel! I even played Captain Spirit beforehand but when it came out, I found the game to be particularly depressing. Now I know that the story was sort of a statement about the politics of the time and I have mad respect for the team for even wanting to use their work to say something about that but unfortunately for me it did not resonate. It seems like whenever a story features people of color stories like to wrap the most traumatic parts of that identity with it. I was really excited in the beginning of LiS2 to go to that party and do some normal teen stuff but they throw all that away for the trauma and now they’re on the run for the rest of the game. There’s never time to get comfortable and when you do try to you’re immediately thrown into something else crazy! I could go on (I have to rant about the game for like 30 minutes whenever it comes up lol) but I’m glad to hear that True Colors is received better it actually gives me the confidence to try it out now!
Even though I personally enjoyed LIS2, I do agree with some points you made and also as much as I love the first game I can see the flaws that has as well. The whole LIS series means a lot to me and I have been obsessed with it since I played the first game (I'm autistic so these games have been an obsession of mine for a while) I don't like how so many in this fanbase get their pants in a twist just for you having a different opinion to theirs. I liked listening to your opinion of the second game and as I said before I liked the second game but I can't argue with some of the points you made as well. I always think it's refreshing to hear other people's opinions, so I don't get the hate that people give out just for someone else giving their opinion :/
Hm yes your picture and love for Life is Strange only shows how toxic you are.
@@starlaixystar what does my picture have to do with anything? I only said that people shouldn't hate someone for just having a different opinion than theirs
@@katelouise6404 People like your lovely Max also never should tell people to not party. They can party when they want.
4:13 they made daniel unlikable for most people since they had limited amount of time to show him through 9 months worth of time and every time they showed him was some kind of annoyance. we didnt get to had good moments with characters since they cram character development moments in like every 10 minutes. we get a dog at the end of episode 1 and it DIEs at the begin of episode 2 like wtf although i will defend him since hes a 9 year old going through a lot, like for his perspective he lost his dad, home, friends, dog, and is constantly running around so it’s difficult.
Great vid! Just subscribed.
the quality on this video is so good I really wasn't expecting it I love how u explain ur thoughts so transparently!

Life is Strange never was good game in the first place. Life is Strange always was about hatred towards feminine girls who likes to party. Wear dresses and high heels. Toxic casual girl Max tried to forcefully be potrayed as good and positive character we should like but in reality she is manipulative liar and toxic, disgusting casual girl who attacks every girly girl like me myself and she would like to force everyone to be like her. She is this type of person and people who likes this game and call Max good character are toxic like she is. For all Life is Strange fanbase I wish the worst new year. You deserve everything what bad in your life because you are toxic bunch of hypocrites who hates girly girls and every girl who is not toxic casual girl like Max. And Life is Strange was killed in the moment it was born. Life is Strange 1 is the most evil game ever created just like community of this game is evil!
Your mental. That is . In absolutely no way what they did with max. Or chloe. Even though I'm mot a huge fan of chloe . That's just wrong girl . Hope your doing better

I was so disappointed by life is strange 2 I loved the first one even BTS which had its flaws and I think life is strange 2 had such a good start but it wasn’t good I couldn’t get myself to play the rest of it
Because you are a toxic person who can't like every character who is actually good written unlike Max and Kate who are toxic and bad written characters.
Videos like this one only shows what kind ot toxic people Life is Strange fanbase really are. Life is Strange 2 is the only actually good Life is Strange game where our choices really matter. Character is likebable and really has tragic story and episodes are intense and interesting. Max is piece of crap and easily the worst character ever. Same thing can be said about Alex and Steph. Chloe was the only good character in Life is Strange. You people are totally toxic.
You're hilarious 😂😂😂
@@idontknowanymore I am? More like you and your toxic hatred to Life is Strange 2 and Chloe and Rachel is but in negative way.
your entire sentence doesnt make sense. first you talk abt the fan base then hate on the first game and ite main character which is the reason the fandom exists then you talk how “good” LIS2 is that’s basically lost the essence of the first.
@@jailtime402 No you stupid fool. Life is Strange fanbase is toxic exactly for loving Max who is toxic and evil person unlike Sean who unlike Max is good written and likebable character. You hate Life is Strange 2 because it has too serious and dramatic story. It's too much for you and you clearly hate every character who is not perfect mary sue tomboy like Alex and Steph or toxic casual girl like Max. Life is Strange 1 doesn't deserve to be called masterpiece. This game is toxic in so many ways. Life is Strange 2 was hope for this series to finally be better but True Colours officialy ruined everything and this is your fault Life is Strange fans. You are the most toxic and evil community I ever saw.
The characters really don't matter in lis 2. In any way. Because as soon as you finish the episode you never see them again. It doesn't matter. Nothing ever matters in lis 2. Sure hey the final episode has a few different endings. But they are all down to what you do in that last episode. So what was the fucking point in the first 4. The gameplay sucks. Because you do literally nothing. It's a telltale game. And they went out of business.
True colors saved the series, I said what I said. Its the second best game in the series (the first being the first LiS). Sean is by far the worst character who gets himself in trouble and is mad impulsive, Alex was refreshing and actually relatable like Max and Chloe. And the power of empathy was a great execution but I'll keep quiet before the Life is strange 2 fanboys attack me
I fuckin can't. People like you actually killed Life is Strange series. True Colours is the worst game ever. Max is manipulative and evil person but what is the point of explaining this? You are toxic person who hates girly girls and every character who is interesting unlike Max and Alex and your comment literally describs how truly evil and toxic Life is Strange fans are. I hate Max for how toxic and manipulative is. Sean is 100000 better character than her and Alex is nothing more than disgusting tomboy with boring story. Plus Steph is cringe piece of crap.
@starlaixystar ok . Imm pretty sure your trolling. But maybe not so incase you aren't. YOUR A MORON
Max a charather with really no character development Chloe was just toxic and ruined the game in my opinion and lis 1 felt so basic and so boring to me Alex I have no problem with her she cool but man did u really had to say Sean was the worst protagonist of them all, really depends on how u play him man plus I mean My boy lost his dad had to become a father figure had to train him and no matter what he always took the blame Sean was getting blamed on something he didint do which make it real I mean this government it just sucks and I’d say lis2 captured it well tbh plus Sean he’s relatable A teen figuring out his passion which he can only basically do in one ending I mean u can’t hate the guy he alredy suffered to much he number one for me, he’s just to relatable for me as a person I understand max or Alex even Chloe but Sean he’s relatable for me in many ways
okay let me rephrase the side charathers in life is strange 1 felt so useless they literally did nothing while in 2 in 3 they just felt more alive and I just love that in 2 it the decisions u make really impact and change Daniel completely which really makes the game shine
As someone who enjoys watching game plays I found it hard to continue watching each episode for the 2nd and True Colors games. I also saw that my favorite content creators had a hard time riffing, trying to engage. The first one felt like more than just a game.
Glad you enjoy it!
Well for toxic tomboys and casual girls Life is Strange one is a masterpiece because it's the game about their perspective. Max is literally toxic and evil person.
@@starlaixystar and?
@@juliaxotwod And you are a hypocrite for calling yourself a good person when you are actually toxic if you don't care about Max being evil and bad written character.
@darkangel3474 Calling me a hypocrite is a conjecture as I never made the claim that i was a good person. The notion of labeling people as either good or bad based on their actions is oversimplified. The reality is that individuals are complex beings, capable of both good and bad/evil deeds. The main character of a story can be flawed and still appear realistic, as it mirrors the complexity of human nature. By portraying the protagonist as someone who is not entirely "good", the story can delve deeper into the character's motivations and psyche, making for a more compelling and relatable narrative. Ultimately, a well-written character should not be reduced to a simplistic label of "good" or "bad", but rather, should be presented as a dynamic and multi-dimensional individual.
I never understood why everyone bashes RE6 when despite being a full action game it still has refrences and places that are similar to survival horror while RE4 which is highly praised is basically a comedy with one-liners being dropped in every second. This game is fun as hell, has a stupid story like all RE games, has good gameplay, many cool characters in one RE game, probably the best acting in the series and it is overall a decent game with little bugs but thats it. People complain that RE went away from horror and yet RE7 still didnt satisfy alot of Fans because the game has almost nothing to do with Resident Evil. These characters like Leon, Chris and more cant always carry a knife with a gun and walk into an abandoned area like a dumbass. These characters evolve, become experienced and mature so of course they are able to do their crazy shit in the later RE games. I mean even in the OG games lets say RE3 Jill literally gets shot by a huge running Monster that carries a huge Rocket Launcher and yet she gets no scratch from it, how is that survival horror?
I get what you mean, Resident Evil is one of my favourite game series, and I personally think RE6 is a better game than 5 but I think a really big problem with 6 is that they leaned too far away from their roots. The game feels like a Michael Bay movie at times with how ridiculous it gets but that’s kinda why I love it. RE has always had this B-Movie horror film feel and so to go in the complete opposite direction was a ballsy move that did not pan out amazingly for Capcom.
I think something I missed from LiS2 was the connections to people and enjoyed True Colors a lot more for this reason. I think at its core, LiS is about the connections you make as a player and how they affect each individual person's life. I think this can be done without the rewind power. I really liked how in TC you were put into the other person's emotional world, I thought it was powerful and I really enjoyed exploring everyone's emotions. In LiS2 we don't get to see much of that, we can't keep in touch with our best friend and are almost forced to like Daniel because he's all we've got. I found it difficult to get through it as well because every episode was so emotionally heavy- it felt like there were rarely any good moments. Plus they HAD to kill the dog ?! I do wonder why people like LiS2 so much and would be willing to hear more thoughts about it.
People enjoy true colours because Life is Strange fanbase is bunch of toxic people who hate every character who is not a tomboy or toxic casual girls like Max and Kate. That's are facts.
I liked LIS2 because of those reasons actually, which made it more realistic to Sean and Daniel's plight. When you're homeless and on the run from the cops, there's not going to be many good times, and it's easy for those of us who have roofs over our head to overlook the reality of that. And yet despite the lack of good times, it does teach you to cherish each moment, each person you meet, and the beauty of each setting more as it comes, imo. How often do we forget to do that in real life? And yes, you're forced to like Daniel because he's your little brother, you kind of have to lol, especially as they're thrust into a situation where they have to depend on each other. It was so easy for Sean to heckle Daniel while they were in the safety of their home, but their dad was shot by a cop and Sean has to take over his role now they're out in the wild. Sean is only 16. He has no other choice cuz you can't just leave a small child, especially one with superpowers that make their journey all the more difficult. It's an emotionally heavy game for sure, but I felt it was a very important one for its time. I especially liked how it highlighted the tension of a mixed-race family with Sean and Daniel being half-Mexican and visiting their white grandparents, the estrangement of their mother Karen, etc. Their family dynamic had so many layers, it was interesting and very realistic, especially considering the kinds of stories I've heard from my own mixed friends. I also love the characters and beautiful settings a lot. They may not last for all that long, but every person and location makes an impact. I'll admit the 'road trip' aspect and the chunks of time supplemented by Sean's diary is not for everyone, but that was part of its charm imo. As for the money mechanic, I've actually come to appreciate that and some of the other things in this game that give you the illusion of choice, because Sean and Daniel are profiled by the cops, homeless, and viewed as illegal immigrants by the racists they meet. You don't have any other choice but to do what's best for your survival and reach the border, because there is nothing fair about what they're experiencing and they have to live moment by moment. And the endings of this game were truly smart. The choices you are given and how you raise Daniel actually does matter, and people still debate for days about the many layers and nuances in the endings. Anyway, this is already long enough and not even my most exhaustive list lol. But it's a few of many reasons I loved this game. I agree about killing the dog though, that was an awful and predictable setup lol.
nah pretty sure life is strange 3 killed it
Eh
It certainly had its moments but LiS1 is just the better game in my opinion.
Agreed!
@@catastrophicytAnd in my opinion Max is toxic and evil person.
Yes Life is Strange 3 killed it. The only normal comment here.
You do have a lot of points, but the "they could have stayed and explained the situation" is a no-no.
I do agree I could have dived more into Sean’s thought process behind the situation, and how he probably wasn’t thinking straight when it happened
@@catastrophicytDude your lovely Max is nothing more than toxic and evil person. If you can't understand that then you are toxic as well and your hatred to Life is Strange 2 is stupid and for no reason. You actually can't stand every character who is actually good written unlike toxic characters like Max and Kate.
Agreed. My thought behind that decision was this: even if Sean thought he COULD explain what happened (which he couldn't, as he had no idea about his brother's powers and wasn't even sure what happened), the backup would arrive to the scene and find: a dead teenager, a dead dad, a dead officer, a flipped car, an unconscious preteen, and a dazed teenage boy, surrounded by absolute wreckage with downed powerlines, a busted fire hydrant, damage to surrounding properties, the works, and somehow I don't think they would buy "My little brother suddenly got telekinesis and went psycho mode on everything in like a hundred foot radius".
@@joeymag593 I swear. You people are the most evil community in Internet.
My thinking was that people of color tend to get profiled, and there's the fact Sean just witnessed his dad gunned down by a trigger-happy cop, why should he trust the backup officers will be any different?
Not only does the "new location and characters each episode" format not draw you in, but it also made development longer, taking over a full year for the game to conclude.
It was too ahead of its time. If it came out after BLM in this current hyper political climate, people would’ve been more willing to empathise with a non-white protagonists story.
Actually, it was very of its time. The game itself came out in 2018, about six years after Trayvon Martin's death, and four years after the deaths of Michal Brown and Eric Garner. I remember when it came out, there were already people complaining about it being "woke" or "political".
@@joeymag593 of course but even more liberal people thought the depictions of racism were too cartoony. Only nowadays everyone has realised racists really are that obnoxiously evil
Ah yes but you don't have a problem with disgusting tomboys and toxic casual girls like Max.
No. Just . No. They fucked themselves over
This video was really well made! Keep it up, I can't wait to see more of your work in 2024!
Thankyou so much ❤
My biggest Problem is how disjointed everything felt. Since every episode had some time pass between them and you were always somewhere else, you had to read the diary to find out what happened. Also how they introduce a money system, giving the Player the Illusion that it's an important mechanic in the game in chapter 1 ( like how you get a different amount of money from your dad wether you lie, or how you can steal some money from him) only for the money counter to always reset the next chapter. Wether you buy food or a sleeping bag in the store doesn't matter bc in all of the other chapters, they always have somewhere to sleep and emough to eat. You'd think in chapter 5 there'd be something you could only buy if you saved up enough money the whole game but.. no. It's completely meaningless! Also how we never really see broady or Lyla again.. yeah you can call her and she'll show up in one specific ending, but still. And it kinda sucks how the female dating option is way more romantic and intimate, where for the guy you literally have to do crime.. the male romance options in these games kinda always suck lol
Yes EXACTLY!!! I felt like you didn't really have time to meet and get to know characters, I felt like the pacing was too slow or you really couldn't settle down for a bit. I honestly hated both romance options this game. Both Cassidy and Finn were super iffy to me. I understand that they have their own struggles but Finn is literally the reason why you lose an eye and you have the option to forgive him in the hospital. I wish they spent more time on the storyboard for the game. Like for example LIS 1 took place in the same environments pretty much, you went to almost the same locations pretty much episode but they did things to make everyone and everything feel different from each other, with LIS2 I feel like i didn't get to experience that, even with LIS 1 I remember most of the background characters name, but with LIS 2 I barely remember any of them.
yeah, i dont like how they tried to cram 9 months worth of time into 5 episodes and 16 hours of playtime. like we missed a ton of stuff with daniel and sean (which is the most important thing we shouldnt miss) has well has missing out on other characters. not only that but the endings were depressing asf. like we seriously did all that just to have those terrible endings? the fact theres an option to surrender is wild. considering all the fighting they have been doing. all 4 endings are garbage and completely make you feel like you wasted your time. ofc i still like the game because i do like sean and daniel, but that only adds to my suffering of the amount of bad luck that happens to them along with the fact after you get done play, it feels the character DIE and you have to morne every last one of them because they set it in stone with the fact youll never see them again with those trash time skips. they should have never set it up so the ending could only be told trough YEARS of time skips bc thats so unsatisfying.
@@AdvisoryCookieyeah, the amount of moving around they do + the time skips just DONT work with a game like this, since it supposed to be s story game. these kind of games are supposed to feel like nothing but short. but both LIS2 and LISTC are short and their power mechanics are boring.

this is very interesting to watch! ive had a special interest on wilbur soot/lovejoy for about 3 ish years now, but he has admitted that some of lovejoy songs are based apon bar storys or storys he’s heard. i love analyzed perspectives of his writing though, i personally have analyzed sense i saw vianna in many ways. his writing is so witty i love it. he is such a descriptive writing, with witt to back it up. live, laugh, love lovejoy hehe
