I'm about 115 hours into Palworld and I can only say the gameplay loop and being able build and express creativity in building and designing bases/workforce automation, replaying any bosses at will (after they respawn of course), replay dungeons, breed and train super pals, etc has been immensely more engaging than any main series Pokémon game I've enjoyed and there really isn't any end point - you just think of something new to do or build and go make it happen. It's very much like the loop you'd find in Animal Crossing that keeps you going, the "I can do one more thing". And it's something that can be fully enjoyed solo (it isn't only multiplayer). Pokémon loses me when the game's entire focus now seems to be on making a competitive team and it feels so much more like a chore and grind that anything in Palworld does for me, mining a rare mineral in Palworld is even more interesting to me than EV training or something because its often in a dangerous territory and far out of the way. I will always love Pokémon as the creatures and lore and idea but this game has captured my heart.

@@RocketVet I'm glad you enjoy those types of games. I personally don't prefer it, and can see that it has little to no impact on Pokémon as a whole. They can exist at the same time without issues. I know super casuals that only enjoy Pokémon for the passive turn based style encounters system with Mon collection. I enjoy more of the active encounters and want to see more of a blend of PLA and the mainline open world.

@@A_Gonna_Gaming I agree. I’ve been telling everyone that ark has a better chance to sue than pokemon and ark can’t even sue them. The creators of Palworld stated that they are annoyed everyone compares his game to others and wants people to enjoy it as its own game

@@novikk647 I think the biggest mistake was using the phrase Pokemon with Guns. I am not saying I hate palworld, but that phrase is just asking for it to be be compared to. I would say that Pocket Pair is not the brightest bunch if look at their history despite Palworld being fun.

Any monster catching game is immediately going to be compared to the big dog which is pokemon. I understand peoples dislikes for the game. It's in early access and costs less than half the price of pokémon and runs better with fewer bugs, made by ~25 people.​ With a 6 M budget. It is objectively a better game. Pokemon is under no pressure to improve. People continue to by their games in mass. Only when sales decline consistently will they change the way they do things.

@@cassascorner611There is ALWAYS pressure to improve. The games have improved drastically over the years. In the 3d world, they are clearly not up to standard expectations. BUT to say each generation isn’t better than the previous is just nonsense. Nobody would prefer scarlet/violet in 2D with random encounters. The work they did to create open world is huge, especially considering the number of Pokémon in the games and the timeline from the previous release. They are moving in the right direction, but strict deadlines always means cut corners.
