Rocky Mountain National Park staff are seeking the public’s engagement and input on the park’s long-range Day Use Visitor Access Strategy. RMNP has experienced a 44 percent increase in visitation since 2012. Rapid growth in day use visitation and changing use patterns in the park have degraded natural and cultural resources, diminished quality of the visitor experience, increased visitor and st...

Thanks for the update. It will be great to have this whole area mitigated. We appreciate all the work that is being done to keep Estes Park protected from wildfires.
Thank you for this. I live just a mile from this burn, so will be watching it closely and will be grateful for any updates.
I ride motorcycle 50 years in rockey mountain park. With the weather always changing. It's difficult to reserve a time that is favorable to ride across trail Ridge. Rd.
Well geez, don't people steal from them? I was wondering if I needed to bring a lock.
👎Horrible music beautiful footage 👍
Thank you!
This brings back memories, it really doesn't change up there. Climbed this circa 1980.
Wow
RMNP has an extremely low population density of bears compared with the rest of North America? I guess it’s one of the worst places to see a bear in Colorado? Weird.
Would love to hear his side of the story.
Grizzly bears did not just leave Colorado.....they thrived there until the 1940's......then we're wiped out by the 1950's.... Due to extreme hunting!....🙄
I realize this is a very difficult task. However, the timed entry makes it extremely difficult for those who have come to RMNP as part of a family reunion group. Varying entry times, difficulty of getting a reservation, long lines at entry etc. really affected our group this year. Plus, the weather is always a consideration. One group had a reservation on a day when it was raining all day and would not have chosen to enter the park that day at all. I would like to see entries controlled by number in, number out. No denial access until a certain number capacity is reached. Then, no one in until some come out.
First visited the park in 1975. Obviously there must be changes to protect this treasure with so many people visiting. But the timed entry is not the best solution. It discriminates against those people without ready access to an internet connection also the placement of the Bear Lake entry point is very poor. It should be farther down the road. Currently people are denied access to moraine park and many trailheads needlessly. When we visited this summer moraine park and many other sites were virtually deserted. This is not at all equitable or fair. You should also be more sensitive to the people who have left the ashes of loved ones in moraine park. When you allow folks to place sacred ashes there you have an obligation to allow loved ones to pay respects without extreme and severely limited access.
Scattering ashes requires a permit. You agree to limitations.
@@flynn1a You don't have to agree with every policy the park makes, even if you have a loved ones ashes set in the park. Timed entry is a new policy and wasn't introduced until 2020, and although the park has the right to do whatever it wants, that doesn't mean they're immune to criticism or backlash over controversial policy. The park is a governmental body that uses our tax dollars in order to sustain itself and I think it is our right to challenge what they choose to do when we fund them both voluntary and involuntarily.
@@pinksoup8548 I agree with you that you can dislike policies of governmental agencies; however, when you agree to something, it is expected that you will keep up your end of the bargain.
Why on earth would anyone dislike this?
Thanks for sharing this online. It was very informative. May y'all have wisdom as you protect and preserve our Rocky Mountain National Park!
Nicely done. Longs has more deaths than Capitol or Maroon Bells. Your advice will hopefully prevent some. Thanks.
This looks so fun!!!
Sorry don’t like music
Very beautiful sinery with beautiful mountains.
Love RMNP but was this made in the 80s lol
Thanks
Found the right video! Nice meeting you yesterday Everett! You’ve had that backpack awhile it looks like!
It's June 24 and the road is closed...for snow.
Thank you ranger Yost. I seldom enjoy nature videos because of boring, long winded commentators. You, Ranger Yost were to the point, honest, humorous and told me a lot about bears, their needs and care, and how to successfully interact with them. Thank you Ranger Yost, great job, great video!
The Park Service also has an excellent brochure about the Keyhole route: www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/upload/keyhole_route_2011a.pdf
Why do people feel they must put stupid music with videos ? I would rather hear the machines working
I noticed how bears do climb trees. Certainly black bears do, but I read that grizzly bears can't always climb trees because they're too heavy for many branches and too large to fit between branches while trying to climb.
Saw a black last week with her cub! I'm from Lincoln Nebraska the experience was tremendous.
Very informative. Looking forward to climbing Longs this weekend.
How was it?
Love the music what's it called goes great with plowing
But will the bears attcak you?
Lol HI
What date do they typically start snow removal and how long does it typically take to make the road passable?

+ChillyMama OK. I usually see it referred to as RMNP.
I love Colorado.
Take 1% of the defense budget and devote it to National Parks.
I love this route. RMNP is just a little west of where I live.
Wait for me, the one who lives too far.
Music is a bit heavy. A better score is needed.
Love this place!!! It's God's country for sure! We go every year to hear the elk!
Coolest road ever!! Drive it all the time up to grand lake in the summer months!! Indescribable beauty!
Awesome! Peaceful & Restful! JOJO ♡ AMEN! & AMEN!
