The BEST and WORST D&D Show
Просмотров 7221 час назад
Dungeons and Daddies is a fantastic show with heart and comedy. They just don't care all that much for the rules of D&D, which let's be honest, none of us should. #dnd #dnd5e #dungeonsanddragons #dndhumor #dungeonmaster Chartable stats: chartable.com/podcasts/dungeons-and-daddies Dungeons and Daddies Website: www.dungeonsanddaddies.com/ Buy dice: www.onlycrits.com/

Unleash Arcanepunk Speed in 5e: Dive into Guillman's Guide to Speed
I made a joke for one of my dnd groups that was basically the same old joke about bard being horny for everything and i regret it every day
The video info overlay covers the captions
Is Jack Black the new Chuck Norris
he will be back in 2 weeks the itching in his veins to dm will get to much
You should do bill and teds excellent adventure next
My firs character is a bard currently 5th level that has a pseudo dragon the magic item heart string wich is a lute infused with dragon heart strings that turns the user semi Dragonborn when activated and did I mention he is a lightfoot halfling so emmagin the terror when a halfling vicious mockery’s you and threatens to suduse your gf then starts flying and casts dragon breath on you and the first time I used it my dm said I could get proficiency on it because I can use any dragon breath and the enemies where covered in water after breaking through my party members water wall and they where goblins 😂 oh and I have two (explaining them as best I can because I forgot the name ) snake demon eggs that I saved after the mother wouldn’t let me befriend her, for context my character name has the animal handler in it, so I try to befriend the mom 3 times it doesn’t work and I take the eggs home and a npc in my party wants omlets and I don’t let him but there like a better version and the hole reason I got them was for intimidation when they hatch but now we started a new campaign that I’m a fairy rouge Druid in
Like 3rd bar i got it right
Literally me
Smash
I have flipped through the player's handbook so many times that I instantly recognized even though I have not really paid attention to the Paladin portion of the handbook I instantly recognized that you stopped on the Paladin's front page sorry if this didn't make sense I can't be bothered to type so I just used voice typing
Pretty sure that Gelationous Cubes don't care much about bludgeoning damage...
"I will change my answer, Super Smash"
Dw the bards blunt object wont even be felt by any of them to small to do any damage
@@le7633all bard attacks deal psychic damage. Either to an opponent or bard himself
Path of the grave cleric + huge crit
Depending on how "thicc" you are, it could be piercing damage.
This is why I like what blades in the dark does
Jared Keeso talks about D&D
naddpod is my favourite dnd podcast not gonna lie. the chaos of naddpod and grumpy DM dad is such a good comedic buildup. not to say that when someone who's more along for the ride and chaos does isn't bad. like even when caldwell did trinnyvale the characters just ended up getting ridiculously op really quickly cause Caldwell is all about chaos, rewards and comedy even above narrative most times. but murph keeps the narrative moving and keeps people on track even when they're being chased by a purple worm or just scooping up a lil guy or rigging a duel to let sad dad get a win. plus the fact the show is short means i can actually keep up with it and its not a chore so that's also a plus.
I really hope murph dms a d20 season
🥳❤️👍🏿
I am a little guy. Too bad I’m not that funny. I will be very prone to pyrotechnics
Honestly, I love hearing about how the rules work together to make absolutely insane stuff happen.
no refence to the older editions amulet of ooze riding?... huh. I think it was the 3.0 arms and equipment guide
Just a funny little guy
This video is 100% right, and to piggyback off of it, Hurwitz is a super underrated player. He creates amazing, complex characters with devastating emotional beats, and radiates "main character energy" in a way that doesn't detract from the other players at the table.
Oh, I expected a person from an actual play game, rather than someone from a hyper produced show.
I am somehow playing all of those in a single character (basically)
#4
I once became the final boss to a campaign. so I played a thief but due to some technicalities and shenanigans and some nat20's in a solo side quest, I obtained the power and dark desire to steal, people! which I would steal given any chnace and opertunity when the party was distracted or I had distracted them. during a banquet I hired assassins to "distract" and stole the king, whom I later on a different quest fed to a dragon while the party was resting. honestly it was unhinged. it was great! one time another players character said, "you know its weird, this guy is a thief but he never seems to steal anything" to which I responded "oh I do, you just dont see them...eerrh see it" they started to regard me with suspicion with these occasional slip of the tongues and eventually well, things got real dark when I was revealed and became hunted for my countless crimes. I started off being goofyand light hearted but ended up progressively becoming truly evil...like I couldnt stop, the king was a dick so that was ok but I think things got out of hand when I started stealing orphans
Tbf, a thief you see stealing isn’t a good thief
Too perfect
Last one too funny
Glad to see some DM Murph love. He's also THE BEST at coming up with creative encounters. Hands down. Brennan does a great job too, but I've got mad respect for Murph. Like in C1, the sketchy goblin airship ride? Perfection. The wild multi-faceted combat in the Hells with a rampaging god and hordes of goat men? Seemed like it should have been complicated as fuck, but somehow this mad lad made it easy af to follow. Dude's a genius.
NADDPOD has legitimately ruined other DND pods for me because Murphys dm style is so well balanced and the story telling is so good. Like, even WBN is behind Naddpod for me because WBN is more theatrical, more heavy story-wise. NADDPOD is so refreshing and even when its heavy there's such levity. Theyre a great crew
Sark from Nerdpoker is my favorite.
I'm a big fan of both NADDPOD and Critical Role, and I was surprised to see that Murph is considered a "rules stickler". Mercer feels way more rules-centric to me---and this isn't a value judgement. I think Murph strikes a good balance of not forcing mechanics onto "flavor moves", but I don't think anyone is served well by a GM who doesn't following the rules in a high-stakes situation. It's boring.
Thanks for reminding me that Nadpod has 3 campaigns, I'd only finished the 1st Bahumia one. Imma go start S2 :D
He's my fav DM! NADDPOD's campaing 1 is PERFECT!!!!!!!!!
I love Brian but we gotta see him on camera and without any post production work to truly assess him.
i would love to see more of this tbh
great video!! got me super excited to watch when it's on dropout!! a bit worried because i still haven't made it through every campaign and i might have to skip past side quests to finish every intepid hero season (i watch them in filming order) but hopefully i make it in time !!
Murph is amazing. Every actual play DM has their strengths and weaknesses. That’s what makes them unique and interesting. And Murph is in the upper echelon of DMs and his encounter design is second to none. Especially in campaign 3 he’s had beautiful unique encounters that are my absolute favourite in the entire actual play space. I love Murph the curmudgeon because he’s the perfect straight man that allows his players goofs, gags and bits to shine. How about a video talking about Emily as a DM? Twilight Sanctorum was so great. It’s a perfect noir story.
As soon as I saw this I clicked. Murph is an AMAZING DM. And consequently NADDPOD is the only DnD actual play show I’ve ever been able to get into (I have a feeling I’d like some of D20 but I just haven’t checked it out yet). NADDPOD should honestly be more popular than it is in general.
Is a DM a genie?
We can grant every wish except the one we truly want: for someone else to DM.
This is some "New hand has touched the beacon" stuff.
when a king dies "accidentally" my characters story will be complete
Brother! Testify!
I've never found him particularly grouchy but you can guarantee that if he backed off even a little those three would run roughshod over him.
he's extra grouchy on dnd court which is hilarious.
@@crunchevo8974 And I absolutely love him being a hard ass on that haha!
This video got me listening to their campaign and I can't thank you enough
same
My guy you'll love it so much. Relistened nearly 3 times already.
I feel like this is actually just Hardwon, the quad god himself, dropping in to do a little causal self promotion
it definitely is
This but unironically. DMing is hella cool!
Love being DM my campaigns are not for kids thoooooo😂
MY DM I LOVE THE 2 CREW NO ONE COULD EVER MAKE ME HATE THE NADDPOD BABES
Just be a plasmoid, you'll take resistance to damage
Blanket
Black dragon mask from the tyranny of dragon campaign, if you're racially resistant to acid say from black dragon born. You'd be immune to acid damage. And the black dragon mask also lets you breathe underwater, which Maybe(?) Could work.
Lore and Background 1. Backstory: Your character, an adventurous alchemist or mage, discovered an intelligent gelatinous cube in a forgotten dungeon. Through experimentation and bonding, the cube, named “Gelbert,” was trained to act as a mount. The cube has developed a semi-solid surface on top for your character to sit upon. Game Mechanics 2. Adjusting the Gelatinous Cube: Here’s a modified stat block for the gelatinous cube as a mount: Gelatinous Cube Mount • Large Ooze, Unaligned • Armor Class: 6 • Hit Points: 84 (8d10 + 40) • Speed: 15 ft. Abilities: • Strength: 14 (+2) • Dexterity: 3 (-4) • Constitution: 20 (+5) • Intelligence: 2 (-4) • Wisdom: 6 (-2) • Charisma: 1 (-5) Skills: Perception +2 Damage Resistances: Acid, Bludgeoning, Piercing, Slashing Condition Immunities: Blinded, Charmed, Deafened, Exhaustion, Frightened, Prone Senses: Blindsight 60 ft. (blind beyond this radius), Passive Perception 10 Languages: Understands Common but can’t speak Special Traits: • Transparent: Even when the cube is in plain sight, it takes a successful DC 15 Wisdom (Perception) check to spot a cube that has neither moved nor attacked. A creature that tries to enter the cube’s space while unaware of the cube is surprised by the cube. • Mount Surface: The cube has been trained to form a stable, semi-solid surface on top, allowing a rider to sit or stand without being engulfed. The rider is treated as having half cover due to the partial encasement by the cube’s semi-solid surface. • Acid Resistance: The rider gains resistance to acid damage while mounted on the cube. • Mount Bond: Due to the bond formed with your character, the gelatinous cube has an intelligence of 4 regarding commands given by the rider, allowing it to understand and follow simple commands like “go,” “stop,” “attack,” and “defend.” Riding Mechanics 3. Riding on Top: • Mounting/Dismounting: Mounting the cube involves carefully climbing onto its semi-solid top. This takes an action to ensure the rider is properly situated. • Movement: The cube’s movement is slow (15 ft. per round). It can traverse difficult terrain with ease due to its amorphous nature. • Combat Position: While on top, the rider can use their normal actions, including attacks and spellcasting. The semi-solid surface provides some stability but restricts rapid movements, potentially imposing disadvantage on Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks. Roleplay and Practical Considerations 4. Roleplay: • Bonding Time: Emphasize the unique relationship between your character and Gelbert. Describe how your character trained the cube to form a stable riding surface and how they maintain this bond through alchemical feeds or magical treatments. • Mounting/Dismounting Scenes: Narrate the process of carefully mounting and dismounting the cube, perhaps involving a ritualistic or meticulous method to avoid harm. 5. In-Game Mechanics: • Cover and Protection: The half-cover provided by the cube’s semi-solid surface offers a +2 bonus to AC and Dexterity saving throws. • Movement: The cube’s slow movement makes it less ideal for rapid travel but excellent for navigating hazardous or uneven terrain in dungeons or similar settings.
