I have American Home shield, they charged $0 for AC tune up, but something had to be repaired so they ended up charging $100. Everytime they need to come out to check on a service its a $100 service fee 🙄 . So the warranty for me was $750 so far im at $950. Its ridiculous.

Does it make sense to pay $900/year for home warranty when you can buy a new dryer or washing machine for about $600? Makes no arithmetic sense to me

More blue states and possibly red will be doing the same. More tax income for the government. No parking for cars. In my opinion, this will not help low income in the future. Ruining single-family homes. Some areas in Seattle started this years ago. Big companies will purchase for more money.

Should be comparing cost of living in SC to: Cost of living in Los Angeles and San Diego, for example. Not compared to "the national average". No one coming from an area that is the "national average" of anything is moving to SC--that's just the facts.

American Home Shield warranty is a scam! They will only replace broken appliances with the cheapest possible version, will charge extra (in my case, and additional $3,700 for a furnace) and often send unqualified people for service appointments.

Great vid. Open a high-interest savings account and put $700.00 - 800.00 in the account every year to cover the cost of appliance repairs or purchases. Truth be known, you won't have to repair or replace your appliances that often, and the big stuff (E.g. HVAC, water heaters) will only be covered marginally by the standard appliance warranty. As with most extended-type warranties, home warranties are a rip-off. Why pay for something with a marginal possibility and a low probability of breaking?

This is a very biased report of Proposition 19. The type I would suspect from a Realtor. Nothing about how Prop 19 destroys family generational wealth taxing your family out of their properties should they not be able to occupy the place as their primary live in residence. But, for Realtors it puts those properties out there on the market so you guys can make commissions and as a Realtor that's probably all you care about.

I think he is realtor. Realtors try to get you into this scam. I can tell you from my experience - I’d trust a random guy from Facebook over a Home Warranty Company. I got my leak fixed for one fourth the price a plumber sent from Choice quoted me. Had a terrible experience recently. They will even refuse to give in writing why the claim was denied when plumbing is covered. Every time I spoke on call, they gave three different reasons for claim denial. They are a scam. Stay away!

Prop 19 is horrible as others have mentioned in some cases. The greedy tax legislators and realtors slid this in for the victims of fire but sneaky changed the amount of tax on reassessment on transfer to children. Shame for not telling this.

I just cancelled my CHW plan after paying for it for nearly two years. I realized they only want to do small jobs that don't require detailed work or a major expense. When you file a claim they know right away if it's something they are going to cover however they still send a tech out to your home only to deny your claim costing you a 80.00 visit. This happened to me twice after the second time I stopped payment on the 80 00 scam and cancelled the policy. You are better off finding a handyman and building a trusting relationship with them over time. Most of the things you pay them for you can learn yourself on RUclips. Trust me!!

Don’t do it. Liberty Home Guard was rated best and they were absolutely horrible. Loaded with double-speak and excuses. Plus when you inquire about signing up, you’re dealing with Americans. Don’t get used to it because from then on it’s foreigners who are difficult to understand. Never again.

Keep Prop 13 and vote no on Prop 19. Keep property tax based on the purchase price. Not the shell game of Prop 19. Prop 19 mostly benefits the rich trading up. Y wouldn't want to keep your current property tax if you moved into a place a lesser value. Prop 13 is better protection for homeowners. Don't undo it's protections.

Don't use American Home Shield. They will keep you on the phone and try every trick in the book to keep you from cancelling. I canceled one day after they took out a payment and they wouldn't refund.
