TNK is back at Courtright getting Rainbows. This body of water has Brown Trout and Rainbow only, but it sure is beautiful. Full of fish and cooler than the valley!

@TNKTackleCompany I got skunked. Troy got his limit. That lake is always tough for me. I don't think the lake has flipped yet. Although I'm not totally sure how to tell. Got a new to me boat, and that was the maiden voyage.
@@michaelmilton4427 one way to tell is that you will not see a thermocline on your classic sonar screen, also if you notice columns of bubbles coming up this can mean that the lake is still flipping, if it has flipped then it should be roughly the same temp from top to around 100 ft. From my limited knowledge these are some of the factors.

I have been fishing Courtright since 1987 but always from the shore. We have always caught plenty of nice size fish from 90's to the 2000's but within the last 5 years or so the fish has been much smaller. I understand that they probably restocked the smaller fish but I keep thinking to myself that there's no way that people can catch all those fish. Courtright is only open from May to November and the fishing pressure is fairly light. Also, I have never caught 4/5 pounders out of Courtright. The only thing I can think of is that the food source is probably limited at Courtright. I don't see crawdads or other crustaceans as a food source, it's probably just bugs, etc. I would like to hear your thoughts.
There use to be much larger fish there until about 5 years ago they drained it down pretty low to work on the dam. Since then they have drained it down several more times including this year to nearly empty. This has fundamental destroyed the fishery there but the one good thing that came of it is the relocation of the fish to Wishon. There could be other factors that I am unaware of. I hope this helps and wish you a Blessed day.

Can you still use the tiller handle for steering and throttle on the kicker while this is installed? Sometimes I just like to sit back there and till the motor myself.
Yes you can just don't turn on the autopilot system.
