Sometimes big churches be like that, some of those churches only preech about prosperity and peace and everything is fine God is love hehe haha. Yeah. Judgment day is coming. Paul spoke to his audience, a lot of the time he's speaking to high ranking officials in society, military, Jewish sec. He was very educated with the Jewish tradition and portrayed that in his writings and was able to lift the veil from his audiences eyes.

I just read a book in the bible. When im done ill go watch a video to help explain it to me. Then off to the next book. Im in psalms as of now.

Paul was speaking to the Israelites who went into gentile way to bring them back to the god of Israel he is not saving gentiles

Pauls words have a lot of wisdom behind them. Keep going brother. I usually spend an hour on 1 chapter. Its better to fully pick apart the gospel than just read it. Keep going brother. Praying for Christ to give you understanding!

The Bible happened in real life but it also speak on what's happening to your body as well God works on all level that's why you can easily lose your way when you don't follow him

Paul was an extremely educated individual prior to becoming a Christian he knew the O.T. Inside and out, upside down and backwards. In some parts he spoke in layman’s terms and in other parts he spoke to challenge the Jewish leaders of the times. No judgement to people in the comments but it’s not about pushing through. If you’re struggling with a math problem you don’t rush it and move on. To learn it properly you slow down, break down the problem piece by piece and put it back together so it makes sense. Same with scripture. Sometimes we read so fast we miss what’s right in front of us. Also, join Bible studies, talk to folks in your churches that have a greater understanding of the word. It doesn’t make you less of a Christian or a person to ask for help that just means you’re human. 🫡

This is not mainstream but if you really want to understand Paul, just read the old testament. Start in Genesis and read it all the way through and understand it. Then read the new testament. You'll find the Paul is not teaching something different or new but is in fact encouraging you to continue in the foundational faith that God established. Too many people leave the old T out of their understanding which is why they either confuse Paul's words or interpret it as everything other than what he's saying

Watching The Bible Project's videos on each book of the bible helped clear alot of things up for me

It does get easier over time and I struggle with reading comprehension and so far reading the Bible more helped me, especially reading the NIV is easy to read because it’s more modern English. But When I can’t read or don’t want to, I have an audio of David suchet read it for me while work or right before I sleep.

just take your time and read slower.. and meditate on the word if you dont understand.. dont think you just have to blaze through it like any other book

This chapter, Corinthians 15, is one of the deepest chapters in the entire bible. Might I suggest reading “O Death Where is thy sting?” by Alexander Schmemann In the context of anything in the bible being confusing, it’s always necessary to turn to the sayings and interpretations from the church fathers and saints who by the grace of God have magnified the true meaning of much of the scriptures for us all to understand correctly.
