I used this video to try and replace my Moto G7 Power's battery. I was successful, but I had a problem. The screw at the top, next to the speaker was hidden by a sticker with "S" on it. In my first attempt I couldn't figure out to expose and remove the screw, so I propped up the cover in order to unplug and re-plug the battery. Upon closing the phone back up the phone powered up, but failed to operate correctly. So I opened the phone back up to try again. I discovered and removed the stickered screw. Under the cover is a speaker magnet. On top of the magnet I discovered a tiny, mangled, loose switch which was holding the cover from completely closing. On the circuit board a few of these switches are positioned to prevent the operating system from working properly unless the cover is completely secured. I removed the switch, closed the phone, and it worked fine with the new battery. Now there are the questions of who hid the screw, who placed the loose switch under the cover, and why they did these things. Any novice replacing the battery without removing the hidden screw and the loose switch would be forced instead to buy a new phone.

Hey so I replaced my battery and the bottom cable started to get really hot and the battery was getting warm but my phone still wouldn't turn on. Is this normal? Is something wrong? This is the first time I've ever done this and I'm so confused. I've taken the battery out for now, and I'm not gonna put it back in until I know what's going on.

Battery never comes out like that unless it's been previously replaced .Never and I say never try and remove the battery with a metal scraper like this .Use multiple plastic tools to wedge and lift a little more and so on until it comes out .Seen one go up band flash and it was no joke when puctured.Infact don't even look at this video again loads more out that show you the safe way to do it .
