    Hi, I have a question I’m hoping someone can answer here. I broke a stem on my monstera albo a couple of months ago, above the node (I’m still upset about it tbh, it was a perfect leaf right about to unfurl). From what I read online, I cut the stem an inch above the node. After it healed and grew a new (much less nice) leaf, it also grew a new node. So now I have the original node, a new node and new leaf that grew from the new second node. The old stem piece has mostly shriveled and disappeared, but that node (has an aerial root btw) now doesn’t have a leaf and stem, so the plant looks leggy now when before it was a thick short plant. So my question is will a new leaf grow from that second-to-last/top node after the old stem material is fully gone, or should I just cut the two nodes (and the leaf, and a couple aerial roots) off and propagate it?

    Came back to watch, remembering this tip at 8:48 +/- for that potting in tall pot (mine is new with four leaves and one on the way so I have time :-). Wide leaf var. Thanks. Every potting vid is just what I do with most potting but the leave tender roots alone is a good one and being lazy ...

    Interesting what you said about watering the Vetchii more when it’s pushing a new leaf. I typically do the same for my monsteras and it seems to maybe help them unfurl faster/bigger.

    • @rousseauplantcare5908
      @rousseauplantcare5908 Месяц назад

      Yes, water carries oxygen to the root zone. In my experience watering frequently helps speed up growth and size. Many of my plants are watered daily

    The burle marx flame isn't a slow grower. But it's an extremely light-hungry Monstera. They really love to be blasted with high light. Mine, even though it's mature, pushes a new leaf every ~4 to max. 5 weeks, and when it was smaller did so every ~3 weeks.

    • @rousseauplantcare5908
      @rousseauplantcare5908 Месяц назад

      In a couple different environments, it’s been slower than all my other plants. Temperature was the difference maker for me. It got way more light in the winter when temps were cooler but it hardly grew. Now that temps are reliably above 75f it’s pushing a leaf about every 4 weeks. Even then, it’s still slower than my other monsteras.

    Yeah that was funny with noise break. I bought a small plant on Ebay, tried to ask whether it was narrow or wide and got no communication, searching around for a side by side that is hard to find among the care sites. You shared some good info with care and personal experience, thanks. One of the best is that IF, mine is Wide form I won't be sad :-) as it seems to be bullet proof. I live 5 miles from the beach in West L.A. Ca. and have orchids blooming year round with a large variety of jungle plants under small shade cloth bench so I imagine Wide will suffice with no tears ... I have an Aglaomorpha coronans with 3.6' leaves in that small space so I hope this one will take it's time growing 🙂 Forgot, I have Anthurium hookeri that is decades old, outside all year round with equal amounts of roots as tall outside that pot it grew in with NO soil I just hose it off now and then with no feeding that has dozens of leaves and flowers regularly in shade and direct sun. I had to search to remember it's name, as I forget what species it is.
