VW manufactures mainly for countries which have very strict carbon emissions laws. South Africa does not have those same laws so we are able to get away with removing exhaust filters. The EGR is designed with emissions and cold climates in mind. The aim of Bypassing these systems to prolong the life of your engine and prevent further damage. You could replace the exhaust filter and EGR but it will cost substantially more and you will need to replace the parts multiple times during the vehicles life span.

If the vehicle has ABS braking system then it will have wheel speed sensors.

We have the software written specifically for each vehicle. We would need to log your vehicle in order to write the software.

The proper thing to do would be to take the throttle body out and clean the carbon off but chances are high that if the throttle has carbon build-up so will the intake manifold. The best way to prevent carbon build-up is to drive the car hard every now and then. This will burn the carbon off.

If your car is a newer model that has an auxiliary water pump you could get away with not letting it cool down as one of the functions of the pump is to pump coolant even after the car has stopped running but if your car doesn’t have an auxiliary water pump or if the turbo has been modified and you’ve driven the car quite hard, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to let your car cool down before switching off.

Yes, the oil in a gearbox with a dry clutch does need to be changed. The gearbox oil, or transmission fluid, lubricates the gears and other moving parts within the transmission, helping to reduce friction, wear, and overheating. Even though a dry clutch system does not share oil with the gearbox (unlike a wet clutch system), the gearbox oil still degrades over time due to heat, contamination, and shear forces. Regularly changing the gearbox oil is essential for maintaining the transmission's performance and longevity. The recommended interval for changing the gearbox oil can vary based on the vehicle manufacturer's guidelines, driving conditions, and the type of oil used but we recommend servicing the gearbox every 60 000km or 4 years (whichever comes first) on most vehicles to be on the safe side.
