Thanks for this - you also need fully charged battery btw. But Panasonic's site doesn't even mention how to install the firmware! How stupid. Probably in the manual but no idea where that is...
Hi, i have downloaded, unzipped and copy .bin file to SD card (after formatted the SD in the camera) and fully charged battery. But when I press play button and tried to upgrade I got message to "no valid picture to display'. The firmware version is 1.0. Any ideas? thanks in advance!

@@1LaDyPhReSH that was 7 years ago. I have moved on to Fujifilm XT, a much better cameras, lens and firmware updates etc.
@@hannahyun0 ouuuu ok! I was just wondering because I still have mine and it’s been in Japanese for as long as I’ve had it 😩 I just want it English because I forgot the modes and my Japanese is real bad.
@@1LaDyPhReSH oh, you meant the menu in Japanese?you should be able to change it to English in the setting of the camera right?
just turn off your viera link, it could be works
@thannyisazombie Yes just copy it to your SD Card which you use for your LX5... Format it before use (which is what the website instruct us to do), after that copy it to the 1st page or root hierarchy when you open your SD Card with your computer... With the .bin file in your memory card, insert it to your fully charged LX5 and switch it on... Press the REPLAY button and choose YES... Wait for about less than 30 secs and your LX5 will restarts itself... Then ENJOY IT!! ^.^
After I double click the .exe file, .bin file appears. Is that the one I should copy/paste to my memory card?
