Abandoned FC RX7 first wash in 10 years restoration project!!!

In this video, I give my abandoned FC its first clean in years. This car was pretty caked in dirt although it may have been hard to see on camera, A lot came off this car, and was looking a lot better. However, the paint is still in bad shape hence why we will be repainting this car in the upcoming months. Stay tuned for the build!

      I’ll be releasing a video in the next week or so but depending what your country’s regulations are you can’t run the rear brembos unless you weld a bracket onto your nuckle. So the solution is to either get r33 gtst rear big brakes or r33 gtr brembos but everything els your correct on. Think you can just run r33 rotors on the rear if you don’t go brembo brakes

    Been wanting to do a stroker build of my own for years (have had a 530whp VET in my own S15 across the ditch in NZ since 2014) and been discovering that strokers really aren't what theyre cracked up to be , at least not if you plan on running beyond 8000rpm on a braced OEM cast block

    • @Wannabe-Club
      @Wannabe-Club Год назад

      Yeah I guess everything I’m doing will be a first for me and will be a learning process and will show all the positives and the negatives that come with this build. I’m also based in NZ!

    • @WraithDeath
      @WraithDeath Год назад

      @Wannabe Club it's the piston to rod ratio that's less then ideal as once stroked, it's an extremely low number so when trying to rev these things, you'll end up chewing bearings and or rod bolts pushing them any further then 8000rpm . Been wanting to otherwise do one for years but learning this over the last year completely turned me off going that route and will instead just run a 90mm bore with sleeves on the oem 86mm stroke. Just can't decide if I use the oem cast crank or go to a billet crank

    • @Wannabe-Club
      @Wannabe-Club Год назад

      @@WraithDeath Oh okay. I know of motive garage who have a 2.2 nitto stroked sr20vet who use theirs as a time attack car have had no issues and make 700hp aswell as horsepower academy with their sr86 which made 650hp but don’t think it was stroked. Not sure what rpm they were running but interesting info I’ll definitely look into it !!

    • @WraithDeath
      @WraithDeath Год назад

      @Wannabe Club depending on their revving , it'll just mean that they'll likely be changing bearings and or rod bolts again at regular intervals. It's widespread knowledge that it'll be a regular maintenance practice, but these motors are used in motorsport also where it's just a cause of what comes when you want this sort of thing which is also why you probably won't hear them often, if at all, mentioning this publicly. For example I know that the GT Autosound S15 that's running that 7 second SR22VET gets regular bearing checks and or changes every 5000-10,000 kms as doss PJ'S S13 if my memory serves me right, all because of the extreme revving these motors do whilst being stroked I don't mean to discourage you by any means , there's still benefits of having a stroker e.g faster spool but it just means you're then limited by your max rpm if you want the bottom end to stay together and it's just not something personally I'd want to go through , and not overly beneficial I don't think on a mostly street car

    Finally someone who makes video of a P11 head being used on a RWD block. I made 700whp on e85 on a sr20det but kept throwing rockers and shims which eventually nicked a camshaft and I was done. Going to go with the P11 head and aim for 450psi with VVL! Good luck on your journey and I will be following for sure!

      Yes !! There is almost next to no info on these blocks and heads apart from the old forums from way back but hopefully this will help some people and the videos to come also. Yeah that’s definitely a upside to the head with the solid rockers. Good luck on your build too bro!!

      Shimless valves is the only way unfortunately for now.

      @@BlueRB240 Yeah iv just been reading into that. Quite interesting but will make it even better I’d say with shimless valves

    Ha beat me to making a VE build video. Looks like you've spent a heap with all those bits, I can assure that theres a lot more to spend yet.
