Current Art Podcast is created by Yaching Cheung and artists. Together, we are creating an open space to talk about the vulnerabilities and challenges we face as artists, filmmakers, dancers, and more. We want to share our artistic journeys with a larger audience and hope to inspire people in any creative industry to recognize the value of their work.
The Art of Loneliness - How Can Artists be more Honest with Themselves
When was the last time you felt lonely? Is it important to feel loneliness?
It is a feeling that can be both political and personal. Filmmaker Chenhao Chang talks about the feeling of constantly being threatened when growing up in Taiwan. Moving to the U.S. was a way to escape the complexity of the feeling, but then a profound loneliness invaded his life and taught him the most important lesson.

Great conversation, to the pointz crisp and interesting!.. thankyou
thank you so much for listening!! If you have an art-related topic you want to know more about, let me know!
Two favourite artists!
I loved how you describe about the relationship of self with the objects around and us. I was curious to know how did this experience of podcast and meeting with so many artists evolved you and your relationship with your environement and your own self
that's insane traveler!till next time~ Current,:))
Awesome interview with a very creative lad. We played some fun noise/ambient shows together in Beijing and I hope we can get a chance to do it all again in the future!
Ummm I loved this conversation. So many good points. I think this conversation can be expanded too. There are people who don't know how to utilize their fear and anxiety for solutions and create art. It's hard, feels like being crushed by a slab of stone and we struggle to push it away. Yaching, you point you made about creating art as a way to seek answers ,"to find connection, the need to satisfy what I'm asking from the world." really hit it on the nail for me.
I'm Canadian-born Chinese and I really appreciated this podcast. I cannot escape my otherness either. I'm intrigued by your comment about how Americans can express 120% when they have 100% competency in English. Can you express 120% in your own native language?
I am really happy you like our podcast! I cannot express 120% in my mother tongue, I don’t know if that’s needed!
@@Current.Artpodcast That's interesting. Is it because it's not needed or there is no appetite for it?
