Celia is seriously jealous of Nancy! She knows Nancy is sexy beyond her wildest dreams, that men swoon around her, and that Nancy is living a life that is just so baddass that she couldn't even dream of living it. I think Celia is Also suppressing a mega crush on Nancy and her deepest desires centre around her. Nancy's parental style never ceases to amaze me, as she is so incredibly badass, edgy and dangerous, but she tries so hard to normalise things to shield her children. Her response to being asked if she was about to kill Celia, is treated by Nancy as though it is a run of the mill matter, dismissed as "She was threatened Mommy, and we can't have that", before playfully patting Celia's bottom as she makes her exit. Nancy is just so streetwise and strong, that particularly if anything happened to her children, she would deal with it, and as long as she is around, nothing can harm them.

Nancy Botwin became a drug dealer and wilfully endangered her family and risked going to prison which would mean at least one of her kids would be taken into care. What are you talking about? Mary Louise Parker is a charismatic actress and does good job playing this out-and-out sociopath, but Nancy Botwin is not a good person, or a good mother.
LOL! this is dramatized for Tv. This is a realistic way of describing a suburban life mixed with drugs and toxic people. In reality, if you had a mom like Nancy, youd hate your life. She’s toxic and delusional. She wasn’t a good mom and her issues are why Shane turned out the way she did, (Shane clearly inherited mental illness from his mom) and Silas was upset with Nancy’s actions but was more level headed. If you want to learn more, research mental illness, trauma and how it typically happens. This show is fun and quirky to watch but please don’t romanticize it because it’s actually depressing
Nancy was a cool mom in that she gave them freedom and spoke to them like they were their own people but she constantly put them in danger
