i have a floyd rose so i dont think i can change strings after every time im playing💀
related to 3. and 5. : learn how to correctly stretch new installed strings, for tuning stability
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊
Ew
NGL the SHIRT is what kept me here lol. The way it scram those notes?!?!!!!😂😂😂
I need a full length song ahhhhhhhhh
Change strings every song? Wtf
Rawdog it thorugh the .wav files of a looper pedal and mess up the sound while trying to lower the amp sound in the background!!
3- GET ELIXIR STRINGS. THEY LAST FOR SO LONG! This "bright tone" of new strings are unbelievable
Completely agree. I'm on my two first sets of Elixirs from months ago still. Even after months, they are better than every Ernie Ball Paradigm/ D'addario equivalent I've ever tried. It's literally not even comparable. I just polished one of my guitars frets and it's so smooth. I wish I started with Elixirs a decade ago.
I’ll have to try them out thank you!
I record with a single amp on dry gain settings on both side, copy and paste that delayed by so much and add chorus on the left, and copy the wet track and paste it to the other side, delayed even more to get a reverb and chorus delay without drowning out the tone so much. Merge all that and I have my guitar track. Just a way I like doing it, especially if I record a song that goes into a clean breakdown it is clean tone while being wet on both sides.
step 6, master the recording in your car. because that's where you are going to test it out and find out it sounds like crap.
Mute strings? Just practise enough to have full control over your instrument.
Angus Young did it for the intro to Thunderstruck. Metallica on the black album. It’s a normal practice to ensure efficiency and clean takes.
@fountane a few do, most don't. Just cut them off if you don't use them. Who cares about something ringing out sometimes, that makes it organic.
How did u automated it???
In ableton you click the down triangle beside the on/off button on the ableton plugin box, then click configure on the top right of the plugin box, then click and move the thing you want to automate (the wah), and it will appear in the plugin box as something you can click to automate. Then just press A to open up automation lanes.
I wish DAWs would let you lock tracks together for editing. Let you hide the wet track too or something. Gets annoying having to highlight 2-8 tracks every time you want to edit. Editing sucks
In ableton you can link tracks so whatever you do on one track will affect all the others. And you can hide the others. I think in Pro Tools you can do that too if you group tracks.
@@fountane that works for editing and not just effects?
@@driftthekaliyuga7502 it works for sliding things around and putting them on time.
They change strings for every song, because they're ENDORSED by string company. Do you think we, as working musicians, could afford that.
So many people think I’m telling them they HAVE TO change every song, but I only said it helps, and that bigger bands do it every song.
Jesus, the tone is almost perfect 🙌
🙏 That’d be Neural DSP Tim Henson on the Nylon preset
Take a keyboard, one of those excellent KONTAKT guitar libraries and hit the guitar like a keyboard pro!
Remember, you don't need to change strings that much, I don't have that kinda money to do that and I know some of you guys dont to also I don't got time for that shit I'll use the same strings till they're black
If you don't want to double track, you can get a huge sound just by duping the track, and then panning and shifting the second track a few ms.
Pretty sure it causes phasing issues
New strings every song??
if the recording equipment is worthy of that...
This went unbelievably hard
Ditto.
STRIVE! STRIVE! SURMOUNT THE OBSTACLES, BECOME THE ESSENCE OF YOUR GOALS :D
Plz tell me this is an actual genre. If it is, plz point me to some bands cuz this sounds amazing
It's just Tech playing in a Jazz format
Its easier for a big band just to switch guitars after every song then switch strings after the set.
I’ve been recording a LONG time and I’ll tell you what, recording a D.I. Just for editing purposes is pretty damn brilliant. Cheers!
🍻
I like recording either 3 or 5 tracks, with one or two panned stereo like normal, and then one in the middle, about 6db less than the other guitars
I’m dumb, how does the DI help in the recording chain?
In this example, DI is recorded only so you can see where the notes are, because an amped waveform is a fat sausage of a waveform where you can’t see anything. This makes it easier to edit because you can see the timing of the guitars with the DI. You record the amp and DI at the same time, then you edit the DI and the amped signal together as one. What you do to the DI you will do to the amped waveform. Since you can see the DI, and since you’re editing them at the same time with the same moves, your amped signal will be edited just like your DI. Can delete the DI after. Did that help? Lol
the DI recording is also useful if you need/want to go for re-amping, huge timesaver and safety net
First 2 are useless. You’re welcome.
Good tips!
Bigger bands? Anyone who can afford it. Change your strings kids! They're not that expensive.
New strings for each song is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a long while. AND... Check your tuning after a few takes? That shit takes less than a minute. Check your tuning BEFORE EVERY take. Who came up with this?
1. It’s not. Every band that can afford it changes their strings every song or every two songs when they’re spending thousands to record. 2. Depends if your guitars tuning stability is trustworthy or not. Use judgement.
For recording I use atleast 4 weeks old strings, because I like the organic sound. If a string breaks -> backup guitar, if no backup guitar -> use them until they get dull again.
what program do you use to edit your songs?
Gonna use the earplug tip, not so much the new strings tho 😂
Tease us with metal in the title and theres no distortion drop?! 😠
Or just learn to play and control your instrument.
Double tracking is all you'll need for recording rhythm guitar. Some people just do a single track per instrument it can turn out good too.
Another one: if double tracking- use different guitars if possible. If not, switch pickups.
why the fuck are you replacing strings so often or on a song by song basis just to fucking use ernie ball bro
Just learn how to mute the strings the right way so you can play live.
1) the sound difference cant be heard 2) you need to learn about audio channeling as well as how Hertz and speaker phasing work. 3) double tracking a guitar is not simply two panned guitars, theres more dynamic in the mix than a simple panning 4) theres a better way to import your love audio from the guitar
that guitar is sweet brother man
You do not need fret wraps
New strings every song??’ Nah bro lol
How did you clip align like that in ableton??
Shift-Option on Mac Shift-Ctrl on Windows Add Option/Windows key to slide more precisely.
6. Don't be Canadian
Whats the riff?
just made one up
DI boxes are rare advice, and from my expirience only buy Radial DI boxes
Set your instrument up and tune for the part.
that list certainly can get longer than 5
