Excellent talk and presentation. It is indeed a "faith/belief" problem and a "faith/belief" solution is needed. Ultimately it started with proliferation mis-information and the mass does not have sufficient reflection and wisdom to curate. The faithful really need to step up to inform and sow maturity. We have the solution and know what to :do, we just need the will. (ps: interesting 9/11 rememberance, given that the event was related to fossil-fuel and faith)

If "sex is sacred" then ALL sex must be sacred. So you're saying a monster who g-rapes a child is performing a sacred act. A husband who forces himself on a wife. Is it still sacred if it's a pastor SAing a member or child? And you're also defining it as penetration; there are tons of sexual acts (some even outlined in your own book ref Song of Solomon) that are non-penetration so do they count as sacred? Is it always sacred of if a woman is past menopause that makes it something else since procreation can't happen? Or is it just some Bronze Age notion of sex-as-worship act as sacred? A sex act is not 'sacred" or else you'd do it in church or only on Sunday.

I wonder about the practice of little girls dressing as a bride for first holy communion?

We need to address how we deal with coersion when it comes to people's actions that put others at risk. Parishes are often making masks optional at Mass. That is a problem.

I attended Nativity from 1956 through to 1965 - and I remember the teachers there being hostile to me because of the color of my skin. I was even accused of being a communist ! I went on to a Catholic high school where I got more of the same nonsense, and I graduated with a Regents Scholarship to college. I then went to medical school after college, and I left the church not to return because I refused to tolerate their abuse in order to prove loyalty to them.
