Are trp hoses prone to making noise in frame fitted dhr evos on a levo know have a tick noise
@@callumcopley6780 not necessarily. When cables are run through a frame that doesn’t have cable routing a “churro” should be used which is a foam sleeve to stop the brake lines from rattling. The Levo should have a routed tunnel the whole way through so this shouldn’t be necessary. The tick may be coming from something else.
I was interested in this but seriously what are you guys doing? 9k for this a 20.5lb gravel bike? If It was a hard tail front suspension bike sweet, but I didn't know you could get a crux over 20lbs. Can't say I agree with this when you're not far off money wise to just building an S Works with 13 speed XPLR sitting around 15lbs and having some resale value when you want to move to something else. Not my money, not my bike. Quality video just what a weird way to spend close to 10 grand
In many ways this bike is more similar to an S-Works build, we never claimed it was a “cheap” build. The dropper post adds $675 and 1.2lbs to the build so that is a large portion there that a stock S-Works build doesn’t come with. Additionally we opted for a mountain bike drivetrain which we earlier explained the reasoning behind it but this is also close to 2 pounds heavier. Lastly, the 5Dev titanium cranks added weight and a good portion to the overall cost as compared to an s-works build. The goal of this build was not weight driven. We could absolutely put together a Crux sub 16lbs if that was the goal but for this build there were other priorities.
Hola que tal .. Queda muy bonita me podrias pasar el ling para comprar los tornillos , he comprado la misma bicicleta pero no encuentro todos los tornillos Saludos
Send an email to support@betterbolts.com and we can help you build a kit. We also have a Bolt Kit Builder on our website that will help you submit a request for our staff to build a kit for you. These kits need to be built specifically to you bike since some parts may require different hardware.
Running the water bottles lower makes room for longer, bigger water bottles for those that need more water. Plus it leaves more room inside triangle top tube bags.
Any chance of making Ti bolts for SRAM shifter clamps?
Definitely a possibility. We have talked about it in the past and have a few ideas rolling around.
Please make an instructional video about caliper body bolt change
Beautiful bike. I’m tossing up between 56 or 58. Do you mind sharing your saddle height and setback?
Whats the weight of this build?
20.5lbs
Do you have a link to those brake line foam tube thingies? I couldnt make out the name in that accent.. 😮 thanks!
They’re called brake churros. They come with the frame but you can find them from Jagwire and many other brands.
It’s a bit of overthinking between 50-52😂 otherwise great setup
My apologies if I missed it, but could you estimate how much weight your bolts saved? I am trying to lighten all of my bikes, and numbers matter. Thank you so much!
It really depends on how many bolts you are replacing. Titanium is half the weight of steel and on road bikes all bolts are either steel or already titanium if your parts came ti already. On this bike we saw roughly 65 grams of weight savings however on road bikes we typically see anywhere from 50-75g of savings. Titanium also bings many benefits with being stronger and corrosion proof.
@@betterbolts thanks!
$675 is for one red lever and one red caliper, the set is ~$1200 😢
We noted this mistake in the description sorry for any confusion!
Did you use the matt or gloss ridewrap for this frame? I have the same color coming in but since Specialized calls it satin I am a little unsure which to order :)
We used the matte RideWrap!
@@betterbolts thanks a lot for clarifying. I will have these videos on repeat while building the bike! :)
15kg is crazy.
what size is the bike?
It is a size 54cm.
Over priced absolutely! But it’s a beauty, that saddle is worth every penny, I have the CF version and never going back
We touched on it in the video but custom builds always get out of hand. There were definitely areas where this build could have cut costs but that’s not what the rider wanted.
I bought all my Red AXS brake caliper bolts and mounts from you guys in oil Slick matching colors, plus you're Local too..great
Great part 3 video butvis thread lock really necessary,if the bolt or screws are tightened correctly they should come loose,I've never used thread lock.💯👌🏻🚴♂️✌🏻
Thread locker is definitely necessary. If you take a look at your user manuals you will see almost every bolt calls for thread locker from the manufacturer. Thread locker helps to stop bolts from rattling loose over time.
200$ Ti Bolts, what a joke. You guys like to overpay and make your clients overpay everything 🤣 Calling this a budget build is a joke ! This is one of the most ridiculous overpriced bike i have ever seen, a 9K$ 9kgs alloy bike 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Agree, but without that hate😊
My trek Domane AL weighs 17.5 pounds with scram rival. This build is a joke. Not to mention it fits 42s
@@kimwarner6050 fits 47 officially but can take up to 50.
That computer mount looks super interesting, what kind is it?
The computer mount is from K-Edge
Telling us you got your red levers for 1/2 price 😢. I am confused on that price vs others like the saddle are basically full price. I guess sram vs spesh
The price listed is the MSRP of the SRAM Red levers. I totally read the website wrong. That price is supposed to be per side, when I pulled pricing for this part of the video I thought it’s was sold as a set hence both Jake and I’s surprise at the low cost of the Red brakes and levers
All prices listed are MSRP
Make sense 👍. Really great video series.
Gosh I miss my industry pricing😢 currently riding a dented trek checkmate😅
I have the same bike as well. Did a xt build.
Nice vids got the same bike What was the final weight of the Build Many thanks. been on your website i be ordering from you soon.
Final weight was 20.5 pounds! For reference and stock Crux pro is 18.6 with a saddle bag.
I run that crux dsw with shimano grx di2, zipp 303s + 42mm pathfinders, bar-stem carbon, saddle prologo dimension and it weights 8.2kg without paddles and bottlecages
@@crack0nhow does it ride on the gravel. I’ve been looking and everyone says it’s rougher than the carbon?
@@Matthewg-yn9vx I like it. It's a bit like riding a roadbike off-road. It's not uncomfortable by any means. It feels like a Racebike for offroad 😅.But I never rode the carbon frame.
Hi, great series! One doubt: is a flattop chain OK for the 1x drive with 10-50smth cassette? I thought it is only for "smaller" ones like 10-40smth.
The chain used is a XO t-type chain meant for use with the new SRAM 10-52t transmission. SRAM has started making their T-Type mountain chains in the flat top style.
Amazing!
Awesome series gents!!! best on the Tube. Looking forward to finished product and getting some BB for my new Crux build (when I decide between alloy and carbon) Looking forward to what your customer thinks of its ride characteristics.
Did you check the weight of frame and fork?
The Crux DSW frameset comes in at 1399 grams.
Great video! However i believe (judging from the red covers) the bracket you installed is in fact a ceramic version. So quite a fancy model.
Carter here - You are totally correct! I was handed an unpacked bottom bracket and just assumed we put in a standard one. What I said still holds true, the regular bottom brackets are great and there is no real need for a ceramic one unless you plan to do a ton of racing.
@@betterbolts I totally agree 👍🏻
Thanks for the build video! I had a question for you guys. I plan on buying that new crux dsw as well, but I wanna use a sram rival explr derailleur that doesn’t use udh. Would I still be able to use it on that bike? Thanks in advance.
Absolutely! The bike will come with a UDH hangar installed allowing you to use a standard derailleur.
Great build but if that's a bsa BB with a 30mm axle then the bearings are tiny!
It’s a DUB bottom bracket which is 29mm
Do the 5 Dev cranks have offset (angle like a SRAM crank), or are they straight. I tend to hit my ankles on straight cranks.
It does not list this on their website. It appears in person that these cranks are straight but this would be a great question to ask them directly to confirm. We would hate to give out the wrong information.
Love it! Would be nice to see the final weight of this build.
Stick around for part 3!
so nice.. do you deliver to Germany?
Yes we do
hey thanks, one of the rare videos showing how to put the hose sleeve. I was really struggling with it on the diverge evo e5
Glad it helped! We try to explain as much as possible without being boring.
Great detailed video guys. Learned a lot. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Good stuff. Assuming that stem is the Service Course SL, like the bars?
That is correct
Excellent part 2 video, the 5Dev titanium crankset is really beautiful, can't beat titanium crankarms.💯👌🏻🚴♂️
not really bro, classic ones are lighter and serve same purpose. Noticeable difference is not there. There is just 700 things that are a more worthy upgrade. If you need light go carbon, if not then not. but TI en crank makes no sense imo
@@ignaciosevil2157 Was meaning you can't beatTi crankarms especially those in terms of looks but good old aluminum arms are best for price performance.✌🏻🚴♂️
@@reinholdachleitner2069 ohh by looks SOLELY. yeah i can see that. But not entirely sure if thats only when its brand new and then goes south. i havent seen the ACTUAL titanium ones. Ive seen the normal ones that i believe are not TI but are 5DEV.
, Very astonished my heart of cycle master technology of cycle universe.. I am form Bangladesh. ❤ the cycle land excellent work
Love this!! The explanation process is top notch!!! Any question I may have thought you guys covered!!!
Great to hear!
This series is right on time! I just decided this weekend to dump my Crockett to grab a DSW frameset to build up over the winter.
Rad! Make sure to get some Better Bolts on there!
@@betterbolts Absolutely! Now stay outta my head. It's scary in there 😂
I'd love to see the budget breakdown video at the end
Stick around for the final video
Fantastic series, gents 👌🏻
Much appreciated!
What size was that pls
This is a size 54
@@betterbolts On official website I am spec'ed for a 54cm size frame, but reach looks very long. Since you measured the setup for part from the mountain bike frame, can you provide the rider hight and whether you went with recommended frame size or the one that actually suited him best, geo wise?
The rider is 5’9” and is recommended to be on a size 54cm frame. We adjusted stem length and bar choice to give this bike a bit more of a mountain bike feel. That being said we still plan to make some tweaks as he gets comfortable on the bike.
Jake is a rad dude 🤘
We think he’s pretty cool too!
Just when did "colorway" become a thing??
what brand of anti-seize is used in the video?
Permatex Copper is what we use here at the shop!
This is my favourite looking Pinarello I've seen, really beautiful looking Pinarello Prince.💯👌🏻🚴♂️
This was a really fun one to build!
Awesome video and build so far i didn't know you had a RUclips channel, glad i stumbled upon it.💯👌🏻✌🏻🚴♂️
