Is v2.0 coming out soon? Maybe some Slick Sequence shennanigans? xD
@twofox_albion No prospects for this deck in Duskmourn. It's still moving me up the ladder quickly. I'll come back to it when there's new cards for it. I've got a new brew that I'm working on. It'll be dropping as soon as it's tuned for everyone to win with. Can't give you guys boring decks or decks that don't win, right? 😅
@@fredosawce Nice, excited to see it. I'm gonna pull the trigger and get this deck this weekend. Considering running it with: -1 island, -1 talent, -1 virtue, +3 slick sequence.
@@twofox_albion Let me know how that works. Slick Sequence is a fun card.
“What in tarnation!” That was an interesting deck
@@l0lan00b3 Thanks! It hasn't been updated since Outlaws of Thunder Junction. Maybe it's time to revive it. 🤔
@@fredosawce yes put the goyf in it too for max. If only there was a way to give them trample though
@l0lan00b3 Goyf isn't in standard, though. 😅
@@fredosawce yeah it’s like lurgofy or something … had to go look it up! It’s called urborg lhurgofy! It’s from DMU
@l0lan00b3 Oh! He was in the first version of this deck. I took him out because of the "creatures in 'your' graveyard" clause. He was often inefficient compared to the other creatures. 😅
It seems that I'm not understanding the Chandra/Ral mechanic. From reading it, I would imagine that if you have the Ral Emblem online and Chandra is in play, you should be able to cast lightning bolt, copy with Chandra, then both the original and the copy should each fire once more due to the Ral Emblem, for a total of 12 damage. However, in the end of your final game in this video, you have Ral Emblem with Chandra online, yet your lightning bolt hits for only 6. What am I missing here? How does this work?
@@twofox_albion I got cha. 😁 So, Storm looks for the number of spells cast, then creates x copies of the last spell cast where x is the number of spells you cast during the turn. Chandra, Hope's Beacon copies the first spell you cast each turn. The copy isn't being cast. Hence, we don't get the extra spells. Does that help you understand it better? 🙃
@@fredosawce almost... under that logic though, shouldn't we get 3x activations per shock? Cast it out for one, storm copies for two and Chandra copies once more for three. I want to love this deck, because it feels like it'd be so very good in the current meta - i'm just trying to fully wrap my head around it before committing wild cards xD
@@twofox_albion Haha, no problem. I barely have wild cards, too. I know the feeling. So, in this case, we get 2 shocks. Chandra copies the first shock. Storm does nothing because we haven't cast our second spell yet. Throw another scenario at me if it's still confusing. 😁
@@fredosawce Sure - so if storm does nothing on the first cast, then I'd assume this means we get 2x shocks out of our first cast, then upon casting a second shock out of hand, Chandra does nothing, but X=2 for the storm counter, hence we get two copies for a total of 6 more dmg? OR is X='number of spells cast before this one', thereby making X=1 for a single copy, dealing 4 more dmg? I figure its probaly the latter, since Storm obviously did not trigger on our first cast out of hand. If indeed the latter, I suppose this would make the third shock cast out of hand hit for 6 dmg.
@twofox_albion Yes. It is the latter. Storm is cumulative, as you said. It only counts the number of spells cast before the last. Basically, x starts from 0. 😄👍🏽
why is this deck ok, but all others you mentioned not ok? i'm new help me understand
All decks are okay. Play what you like. 🙃
How would you Update this Deck with duskmourn cards?
@Oetzi90 Hm... I'm not sure yet, but I would consider posting a version 2 for you if you really enjoy this deck. 😁
@@fredosawce yes please 😁
@@Oetzi90 Will do! 😁 Let's see how the meta shapes. Keep in mind that there aren't many new instant or sorcery spells in the Duskmourn set when you're in the lab.
@@fredosawceI added the rollercrusher and get the price. Not optimal but so much fun 😁
@Oetzi90 I'm interested in testing this card, too. It sounds fun. You'd have to include a few more card types to make it viable. Perhaps the deck becomes a "noncreature spell" deck instead of focused on instant and sorcery spells. Let me know how it goes! 🙌🏾
Great Deck! This is my Style 😁 i Hope duskmourn still allowes this playstyle😅
@@Oetzi90 Well... turn 2 mono red is around the corner. 😵 Let's see.
Feels like this would do quite well against Leyline based Rakdos Flick decks. The abundance of cheap removal completely dismantles the pump and dump strategy with Leyline
@twofox_albion Yep. You're absolutely right. After running into Rakdos Fling, I realized the same thing. Keep hands with plenty of removal. 😎
Let's just take a moment to appreciate how you dodged drawing three lands in a row at 20:50
@@walkermcmullin8665 😆 There's no worse feeling than losing to the shuffler.
Where is it written when you get storm on lignting strike you can use it 4 times? 4:11
The "Storm" emblem counts the number of spells cast during the current turn and casts that number of copies of "Lightning Strike" in this case. The ability is cumulative throughout the turn.🫡
Love your deck
@mr.mardoc8651 Thank you, Mardoc! 😁
@@fredosawce I got to mythic with UW control Jace win con or lands for damage if necessary, how do you do vs red
@mr.mardoc8651 Nice! Mono red typically has about 2 or 3 creatures in their starting hand. All you have to do is wait for them to pump those creatures during the damage step, then remove them. They almost always scoop after that. It's always a mistake to try and outpace red. You just can't. Prioritize defense until they run out of ammo. Then, light 'em up. 🤠
Did you update this for duskmourne or are you playing another archetype?
@mr.mardoc8651 No updates for this one with Duskmourn. It is still performing well on the ladder, though. There's some new brews coming very soon. Stay tuned. ✌🏽😁

@@ajdd1859 Hi. What problem are you running into against that archetype? I'd like to give you a realistic answer. 😁

@ajdd1859 You can try swapping out the Skullcap Snail for Deep-Cavern Bat in order to see your opponent's hand. When I face discard decks, it's usually the removal that does me in, not the discards. They can discard all they want, but they can't deal with our threats. You could also try using "Pond Prophet" for card draw, but it will slow you down. If I can make a faster version of this deck, I'll post it and/or tag you in the comments. Thanks! 😁

Hi, sweet deck but I wanted to know how much you could scale ranks at plat? 3 out of 4 games I lose to sheoldred, so was curious about your win rate. Thanks for the video
Thanks! My win rate from Platinum 4 to Platinum 1 was 68%. To date, the deck stands at 59% with 34 recorded matches. This doesn't include unrecorded matches played on Android. It got me to diamond. I usually put enough pressure to keep them from dropping Sheoldred on 4. Otherwise, I ignore it. You can still race them. Yea man this deck is sick, did u think about putting the new creature lands in it? Might be worth it with the life gain.
@nijalgriffin1981 It makes me so happy to see someone enjoying the deck. Thank you for your comments and input. I did think about it, but I had a rough time getting the mana base to work. Hence, there's so many pain lands and no utility or creature lands. Drawing a tapped land is no fun when you're trying to curve out. But, if you are good friends with the shuffler, go for it. It seems to hate me. Haha!
No problem man, shoot you got yourself a new sub for sure. I do agree that the land base is a bit tricky I will see if I can throw one or two in there and see how it does

Yes, a party we shall have! 🕺🏽
Love Izzet and love the deck :) I have a question though... I feel like in 4 out of 5 games I am playing against a deck with black that has Shelly on turn 4. And I am thinking what to to against that. Maybe throw in a Nahiri's Warcrafting or three? Or, to keep the deck budget friendly-ish, Frantic Firebolts? They don't go face, but at least they proc all your creatures. What do you think?
Thanks! It sounds like a good idea. I like Twisted Fealty instead as it could give you lethal while still getting your procs. I usually play around Shelly by making sure to drop more than one threat early on to force them to take a turn to answer them. Keep in mind that you'd have some odd turns where it'll contend with dropping a second alchemist or flamethrower. Let me know how it goes!
I've been trying to find a good deck that uses that otter. I like the look of this one a lot

Have you thought about adding murcurial spelldancer? I do like how your version is artifact based tho
Thanks. I built it around Covert Technician. I think the card is underrated. It combos into itself with Yotian Frontliner. I thought about Murcurial Spelldancer. Unblockable is sweet, but Suspicious Stowaway would be better in that case as it cycles for you. Otherwise, it slows the deck down.

This deck is pretty awesome.
You think any blade of the oni would be worth?
Thanks! I love making decks, but I don't have much of a collection yet. I'm grinding to build it quickly to get more content out. ✌🏽😁
@Matt C. I thought about Blade of the Oni, but the cost to reconfigure is too heavy and is only at sorcery speed. Menace is nice, but having an extra creature with unearth is better value. You need your mana open for combat tricks. Hence, the super low mana curve. You can try taking out Transmogrant's Crown for it, but you'll lose the draw. I've been experimenting with a few new cards and will release an updated version of the deck soon.
