If you have ever confused a table saw for a deli slicer, get the heck off my dang channel page! I make how-to videos called "Hemingray's Workshop", my flagship video series that caters to those who could do things easy and simple, but prefer to spend half a Saturday working on a project that requires lots of tools, and maybe a run to that big dumpster in the neighbor's driveway.
Anyway, I also have railfanning videos and automotive-related videos, as well as Minecraft and some lightly humorous videos as well. I like being a "Jack of all trades" channel, with all of my interests represented. Just don't ask to borrow my tools.

Burlington Northern Covered Hopper Mystery
Tell me you don't see lettering through the rust. Unless records are inaccurate, (highly doubtful, but stranger things have happened) there is no way this is a CB&Q car that survived the 40-year cull in disguise.

Hemingray's Workshop: Building an Ice Box
Просмотров 272 года назад
In this video, we attempt (key word there) to construct an old-fashioned ice box. materials needed include a small cabinet, a sacrificial metal pan, some blocks of wood, caulk, and piping/tubing of various sizes.Testing reveals the limitations of the design, and ultimately, we ended up making a produce cabinet. However, with more insulation, this could be a useful appliance. I say never use thi...
Hemingray's Workshop: Victorian Child Casket
Просмотров 393 года назад
Finding myself with a scrap board, I decided to build a Halloween decoration, and add realistic elements. The entire casket was built from an 11" X 8' pine(?) board, along with some other scrap I had in the garage. An adult-sized one could likely be fashioned from two boards. As for the window, I used a pane of glass salvaged from a picture frame. I originally intended to take glass from a porc...
Mississippi State University Ballew Hall

Old campus slaughterhouse for the animal science department that has been emptied out. Currently, the second floor serves as staff offices while the first floor had served as auxiliary classrooms (and one room was briefly pressed into service during Covid). This used to be one of my favorite spots on campus due to its horror movie vibe. The place was usually empty on the first floor, and dimly ...
Hemingray's Workshop: Adjustable Pipe Jack Stand
Просмотров 263 года назад
This is how I made an adjustable-height jack stand intended to hold up pipe or other long material stock. I think it's decently easy and can be fashioned out of scrap wood you may have lying around (maybe not; see video). Caution: working capacity 15 pounds. Depending on how built and materials used, you may be able to push 30 or so maximum. If you need it to hold more than that, go buy a steel...
1963 Ford 300-New project!
Просмотров 1823 года назад
The new (old) car I just bought, and don't call it a Galaxie! While it shares basically everything with the Galaxie, it was a separate model, the lowest-end full-size car ford sold, intended for fleet sales, and dubbed the "300". Due to its light weight (relative to a Galaxie 500) and lack of options, many found their way onto drag strips, about 50 actually coming factory equipped with 427/4-sp...
Quiet Night at Rochelle
Просмотров 203 года назад
Taken in July 2020 at the Rochelle Railroad Park in Rochelle, Illinois. Although we always say we'll leave earlier so we can go to an ice cream stand on the way home, we inevitably end up staying past dark. Which leads to scenes such as this. It's hard to capture on video effectively, but there's nothing quite like sitting at sunset in the silence and watching a train go by.
Paradise Theatre Spelling Explained
Просмотров 333 года назад
This is just my opinion on the differences in spelling on the front and back cover of "Paradise Theatre" by Styx. It is officially spelled "Paradise Theatre", but many have noted it is spelled "theater" on the back cover. I believe this was intentional. This specific unknown release can be found of Discogs, runout number SP-03240. Little information is known about this specific pressing, and I ...
Vintage Cars at Acme Auto Parts

The back row of vintage cars at Acme Auto Parts in Kankakee, Illinois. This is just a fraction of the vehicles at this huge yard, as there are many vintage cars and trucks scattered about, this is just where they had most of them grouped. The Chevelle and Cougar I first saw back in 2017, and they've probably been there for several years at least. If someone knows Chevelles, I'd like to hear you...
Hemingray's Workshop: Telegraph Insulator Display Rack
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.4 года назад
Finally, a video that lives up to my channel name. I decided to build a display rack for my small collection of telegraph insulators that imitates an actual utility pole. This can be used indoors or out, and is a great decoration item, but not intended to suspend wires. Do not use valuable or rare/irreplaceable insulators on this rack. Keep those on the shelf! I had a handy supply of vintage fa...
1995 Chevy Caprice 9C1 Review

An in depth tour and review of my 1995 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1, including the exterior, interior, drivetrain, and special police-package equipment. This specific vehicle was owned by the Illinois State Police, and hence, has cloth seats and does does not have a cage in the rear. This vehicle also features the LT1 engine also shared with the ever-popular Impala SS.
Hemingray's Workshop: How to Build a Bicycle Jack Stand
Просмотров 3755 лет назад
Removing your rear wheel is something many bicycle owners will have to do at least once. Most of the time, they'll flip the bike over, rest it on the ground, or jack it up on blocks (What I used to do). Unfortunately, this can start to scratch the paint, which can lead to frame rust. The solution: a wooden jack stand that will support the rear frame with the wheel removed. Yeah, I'll admit it's...
Hemingray's Workshop: How to Repair a Hollow Door (Edit)
Просмотров 16 тыс.5 лет назад
Hollow core doors break pretty easily, as many of us unfortunately find out. Most professionals will tell you to replace the door. But now, the homeowner can at least attempt to prove them wrong. As with any hollow door repair video, the results are not perfect, but turn out decent enough. Be very wary of any videos that claim the results to be flawless and completely unnoticeable. Also, as a s...
1948 Chrysler New Yorker at Victory Auto Wreckers

a 1948 Chrysler New Yorker we found at Victory Auto Wreckers in Bensenville, Illinois. I don't really feel bad about it being here considering it's probably unrestorable. If anyone doubts me, I pulled a spark plug from the engine with my bare hands and it stripped the hole. Not the spark plug, the threaded hole in the cylinder head. The Silver paint on the block is still very much intact, howev...
Hemingray's Workshop: How to build a Stereo Equipment Spacer
Просмотров 1077 лет назад
When you have one piece of stereo equipment to stack on top of another, things can get pretty problematic if they're different sizes. Thankfully, a spacer can help with the problem with stacking them. Of course, if you're stacking an expensive turntable on top of a receiver from Goodwill, it may be cheaper to go get a larger receiver. But that's not as fun...

thanks for the video. consider being careful with the lense. try removing the lenses by removing a screw near the temple of the glasses
"Well if you look here"!!!! God damn if I could see I wouldn't be here . lol
You still alive

Solder and frame wasn’t hot enough and you need flux to make it flow smoothly.👍 good try though.
Funny enough, I just bought MAPP gas for a brazing project for my car. What years of learning lead to. But maybe I'll hold off using that on glasses...
Always like the 95s impalas and 9c1s 96 impala is only the floor shifter not a big deal to me
That "rainbird" sprinkler sound was pretty good.

Nice review though you might want to economize with the words. Good display of performance details. Is kinda funny to hear the fuel door license plate described as if were an oddity. Having worked at a service station in 1970s that seems laughable. Fuel mileage was always spectacular on these big Chevys as long as they were well tuned, My 1991cop car could go 35mpg on full highway miles with the 91 octane. The nice thing about a car like this is the drive is invigorating. When you arrive where you're going you don't need a night's rest to make up for the trip like today little cars seem to require. I suspect your higher mileage unit may only be at about 75% of its potential. Should you refresh that engine from the cylinder heads up, especially the fuel injectors and sensors and ignition you would brag about your fuel mileage and have to exercise caution taking off. Would it be worth the $$$ ??? hard to say. The planet might thank you for a better burn on that fuel but I may also be reading this all wrong. thanks for your efforts and Happy Motoring. Looks like I could economize with the words myself HaHaHa
Can you do this with a pencil?
A pencil might be too large, but I do remember kids stuffing the pocket clips from pen caps in the padlock hole. A similar sized object may work. Part of the issue with an oversize object is the latch will not function; essentially, your locker can just fall open.
0:39 Cupola means "dome" in Italian.
😂
Literally sounds so much like the Honda mower
I’m glad he now has tint on part of his lens for that hard sun
Well. Just grind and shape the solder and than paint to match. You can do that and people wont even know. Good job tho for temp.
This just happen when i was cleaning 😭
Beautiful car! fix the rust spots and it looks impecable!
naw cause this actually worked but ofc i found out about this the last 3 days of school

This is the definition of comedy
Almost all ex cruisers have emblems deleted. Its a trim option from factory. Departments often need to put more important information in places where badges might usually be like unit numbers..
GM didn't add the emblems to the car but they should have put them in the glove box with the adhesive on the back
Hey you won because you tried, in my opinion !
I like this character arc.

That distortion!
Every 9C1 has different quirks and mods, and its cool to see all the different ones. My 9C1 has the shift interlock removed, so you dont have to push the brake pedal to shift gears. Which is both nice and terrifying, since its means you can technically (I think) put it into reverse while at any speed. I guess so that officers could jump into the car and just slam it into gear. But they also put a metal stopper on the steering column so you couldnt go into first gear manually. Probably so officers dont put it in first gear and starts tearing after someone, ruining the gearbox. Kinda wish mine had the switch yours has that makes it so you can take out the key while running the car.
Mine had a first gear lockout, as well. I think I found a sales brochure on the internet once that listed that as an option. I always thought it was a fuel efficiency thing, blocking one from leaving it in first and thereby revving the engine higher than necessary. Also, that ignition bypass made for some funny pranks on unsuspecting passengers! "Well, this is an interesting problem..."
Still have your isp car? I'm the guy who sold it to u!
Holy Cow! I don't, unfortunately. It got a flat tire right before I went to college and my parents didn't want to deal with it. By that time, I had been driving it without power steering for 4 months because that went out. Since I was away at college, I ended up deleting it and running the lines back into themselves so the pump and steering box wouldn't eat themselves. It was sold to a police car restorer. He told me it was very rare for those to have carpets, apparently. Also complimented the interior; I kept the towels on and only took them off a handful of times for shows and such. Still ran great, save for the power steering. It's still out there somewhere. I still know the VIN, so I always take a look when I see old Caprice police cars at shows!
@@Hemingray1893 still have 2 95s
@@heishongwong2458 I got a '63 Ford 300 currently that's occupying all my time.

One of the tailpipes rusted off right behind the cat on the way through Missouri. Had a half straight-piped car for a year. But the guy I sold it to is restoring it, so rest assured it's probably been fixed by now.
Used to see those all the time growing up in ND back in the 80's and 90's.

What solder are you using?
If you were to wrap a real thin wire over the thick wire and the glasses it would last longer.
I have 1995 9c1 for sale 5k 140k miles
The engines are different to between civilian car Caprice and police the police got 600 horse power engine civilian normal like any other care when they stuck on ice police car engines if slowly going up the hill especially lady ones if they don't keep their wheels straight going up burning tires melting it cause goes 1000 roms on rain and snow than men which women burn on rain and snow now they do it than men in rain i don't know hear tires in rain whining going 1000 miles per hour while going 100 miles an hour and In ice stupider but literally burning tires and rain risking springing speedometer on ice too and making tire marks their engines would make you think demolition derby car of today not yesturyear and or Daytona 500 race car both them cars and this sound similar and quiet when going regular speed Calle with air conditional engine sound called ting sound and other times step on gas more pronounced yes those are street stock crime fighter racing cars and regular cars if supped up like them built can have slow speed street driving ting noise then when racing loud by turning it on but with regular cars buttons police by them selves with out Volkswagen same way button pressed but no longer losing the buttons now i don't know maybe them selves too or the got click gear to do it police cars don't

The engine sounds crown Vic ish to loud engine like police do but police in situation ultra car was same but now for tour and fun
It's customized made it in late 60s used to be police car taxes were made to build it looks like a crown Vic weird looking one by headlights body back sloping down used to use guns that came out of back even in movies but took them out after even making science fiction one from police car called ultraseven an Ultraman series but Ultraman cousin really after show and police took guns out lazar guns they were really machine gun things near head lights and others except lots of buttons to lock doors and possibly shock people who try to steal it is on sort of fulfilment of taking key out still running and putting it back on it is customized defensive like i said except two things taken out and it's doors are crysler empirial and the top but top even in 58 crysler empirial look crown Vick ish alittle if hard top some are convertibles
Even in today's police cars too and doesn't waste gas despite it being a eight cylinder it's like that ultraseven car for Chrysler imperial 58 it got push stater thing like demolition derby it's for sale for generous price 100 dollars and 99 dollars or could be mistaken 99 for car 98 for shipping can't afford it any more selling it cheap on eBay on duck go
