    Actually, seagulls are found even here in North Dakota. Heck, we even had them in the high deserts of Arizona! They are migratory birds, traveling anywhere there is food. That's why their nick name is "Rats with wings." To prove it's not global warming, Utah named the California Gull, commonly known as the sea gull, their state bird in 1955. And the early Mormons from way back in 1847, long before global warming, speak of the gulls at the Great Salt Lake. Lastly, sea gulls are found in all of the 48 states and Alaska. I would not be surprised if they live in Hawaii too. They are both hunters and scavengers, making them a most successful bird. True story, I use to throw bits of food up to the gulls at lunchtime while in junior high. One day I threw a chunk of cookie to the gulls. One dove to get it, misjudged the angle and it bounced off the bird's beak... It then hit the Vice Principal dead on the top of his head. He turned around with an angry look- trying to see who threw it. Me and my friend got out of Dodge in a hurry. I am sure the VP would not have believed our story.

    After watching this I decided to try it. I put chains on ever 4 Tracks, and the last was 5th track. Just the way it worked out on my tracks. (My Supertacks had pre-punched holes where I can put the bults though already from factory.) So far it helps a lot in biting snow/ice while plowing. I will be trying it out in the snow/tundra this coming weekend. With it every 4 tracks I have between 4 to 5 chains on the ground at any given time. I climb icy roads just fine like this. I used to slip/whip around on ice roads. Now I can control my spin/whip and not slide as much. I can spin and spit snow a bit when plowing to much snow, generally still pushing snow with plow. Unless to much wet snow. Then I take a short running start to punch the snow to get momentum again. So far I am happy.

    I like this, but have one concern...snag. At least, where I go with my argo, there's lots of broken trees and branches on the ground I can forsee a sharp stump or branch snagging in the chains. I probably try it anyway.

    I did the same this wk. I love my 6x6 argo, but with the supertrack, it lacks of traction in steep path.. it really depend on the type of snow. I installed the same chains. It really seems to improve traction, so it is a go. However, it makes a lot of noises...even if they were tight. Please note, don't use 1 in bolt. Too short. I was not able to position them where i wanted because of this and was not able to use washers. Use 1.5in. Thx

    I drilled a 3.5" hole on the side of my metal heatshield box around the exhaust manifold and then bolted a small 4" electric computer cooling fan over that hole then used a 4" to 2" coupler from the fan to a 2" metal flex hose to a custom made 3 way hose splitter for the right side, left side and center vent holes cut into the firewall panel. It gets nice and toasty! Very cheap to do and the computer cooling fan doesn't take alot of power to run.

  • @richvail7551

    I think if I was going to drill holes for the bolts I’d probably just use the bolts themselves as a stud rather than using the chain. My only issue with my plastic tracks is that they slip on various terrane so a stud would be all I would need to get a bite on a log or chunk of ice, I’ve never had any issues in the snow unless I had an obstacle to climb over. The chains seem like it may cause more stress on the bolts and probably cause damage to my track.. let me know how your invention worked. Thanks

    • @richvail7551
      @richvail7551 3 года назад

      @@cocodrilo3975 If you live in a snowy location plastic tracks are amazing and cheaper, I bought a newer Argo last year and it came with rubber tracks. I’d say the rubber tracks are better but not enough for me to spend the extra cash. I don’t use tracks other than in the snow just cause of the wear and tear.

    If you turn the volume up, you can hear the bear fence whining (capacitor, which to me is a predator call ironically), some commentary from my dad, and the actual shock when I touch it! Only now I realize that I may have been inadvertently shocked a second time when my foot comes up in the involuntary reaction, cause you can hear a second click/shock...

    I have a MW 4hp 2 foot wide model. I just went out and fired it up and it started on the first pull. Been debating whether or not to change oil in it or not (it's full though). Have to be careful not to bump it into something too hard or the drive will break (pins). Been thinking of putting a new motor on to go from 4hp to 7 but just out looking at it I dare say the motor that is on it was made specificly for this blower so I don't think it will work. Has anyone ever put a new motor on a MW?

  • @l337pwnage
    @l337pwnage 13 лет назад

    @joek0617 Anyway, yes Gilsons are built like tanks. Very durable machines. I've only personally owned 2 blowers, both Ariens, one an '83, one a 2010 model. They have some weaknesses, but the design and control of the newer blowers is so much nicer IMO that I would not use any of the older designed units unless I got nostalgic for one.
