Excellent honest review! Thx also for the review of the courtyard Marriott- we are staying overnight. We flew 1st class in 2019 with SA to Japan and it was fantastic. We are flying SA this spring to Singapore from EWR and I really don’t like the footwell/lying on a side angle!! I am 5’2” so hopefully it won’t be terrible for me but my hubby is 6’ and has back issues. Not looking forward to our Ultra long flight. SA needs to redo their hard product. Luckily we are flying on miles as the business class ticket for this huge amount of flying time and horrible angle seat is not good. We are flying Qatar to Africa later in 2025 in the Q suite and IMO the best airline in the world.

I’ve flown on Singapore Airlines many times in my 40 years based in New York City. I’ve flown on the A380, the A340 and now the A350. I’ve found that the menu outbound from Singapore is much better than the menu inbound to Singapore. While the business class seats are the largest in the industry for business class, they are really designed for side sleepers. A trick I’ve found is that if you’re a right-side sleeper, it’s best to book either the D or K seats while if you’re a left side sleeper, it’s best to book either the A or F seats due to the location of the footwells and the way human knees work. The best seats are always the bassinet row seats in rows 11 or 19 in business class on an A350 which allow you to man spread because it is bench-style rather than a footwell for your feet. Another interesting and handy tip is that all the napkins on Singapore Airlines have a button hole that you can attach to your shirt (if you’re wearing one with buttons) to protect your shirt front from any splatter from the meal. Finally, if you want to use your earbuds in conjunction with a Bluetooth transmitter with the in-flight entertainment system instead of the provided headphones, use a two-pin adapter and not a three-pin adapter otherwise the third bigger pin which provides power to the unpowered headphones will introduce an annoying hum to your audio. Hope this helps in future trips on Singapore Airlines aircraft.
