    Tambora's sound was even louder (347 dB), so loud that people 3500 km away fled in fear and called that day 'The day Gods clapped their hands ', or mistook its roar for the eruption of their local volcano. Like Krakatoa, it left entire populations with shattered eardrums and impaired hearing. Nature is majestic and terrible.

    This is idiotic. It means literally "Apple of Grenada". Took me 0.00005 seconds to Google. Normalizing weapons of war like this could also be seen as sinister. Enjoy the comment while I set this on the long list of profiles to ignore.

    • @CuriousFactZone

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts! The name "grenade" does have an interesting origin-dating back to the French term for pomegranate, or "pomme-grenade." It’s a linguistic comparison to how both burst open, spreading fragments, which does seem a little surprising! As for normalizing or glorifying weapons, this video is just meant to explore curious word origins, not to glamorize them. Hope you found it a bit thought-provoking, and thanks again for joining the conversation!

Other human species like Neanderthals indeed had a variety of skin tones, including lighter skin in some populations. It’s fascinating how much diversity existed across human lineages and how complex our understanding of ancient genetics is becoming!

    That’s Because Thetes No Real Money To be Had If electric was free

    • @CuriousFactZone
      @CuriousFactZone 9 дней назад

      That’s true! In the past, the technology to create efficient, long-lasting batteries just wasn’t there yet. Early electric cars had limited range and were less practical than gasoline-powered ones. But as battery technology has advanced, electric vehicles are becoming more viable and competitive today. The next big challenge is improving the recycling of these batteries to reduce their environmental impact.

  • @brucedeleskey8540
    @brucedeleskey8540 22 дня назад

    Thay didn't work than and will not work now as we can see

    • @CuriousFactZone
      @CuriousFactZone 9 дней назад

      While it's true that early electric cars faced limitations, it's also important to recognize that modern electric cars aren't as eco-friendly as they might seem. Until we develop batteries that don't rely on lithium, solve the recycling issue for these batteries, and find a sustainable and clean source of electricity, the environmental impact remains a concern. So, while they may have a smaller carbon footprint compared to gasoline cars, they still have their challenges to overcome.

      When Vincent Furnier, the original lead singer, legally changed his name to Alice Cooper in 1975, it helped resolve legal complications about the band's name, which was owned collectively by its members. By taking on the name, Alice Cooper (the solo artist) did indeed agree to pay his former bandmates a yearly royalty for the use of the name.

    If the USSC ruled them unconstitutional, then there is no need to have them removed. The Supreme Court did that with their ruling.

    • @CuriousFactZone
      @CuriousFactZone 29 дней назад

      You're absolutely right that the 1961 Supreme Court ruling made these provisions unenforceable, which is why they can't legally be applied. However, the fact that they still remain in the state constitutions can be seen as a symbolic issue. Many people feel that outdated and discriminatory language, even if unenforceable, shouldn’t be part of a modern constitution. Removing them would be a step toward fully reflecting current legal and social values. But as you mentioned, from a practical standpoint, the Supreme Court's ruling does override them.

    • @CuriousFactZone
      @CuriousFactZone 29 дней назад

      It's understandable to be concerned about how current interpretations of the law could affect these outdated provisions. While the 1961 Supreme Court ruling made such bans unenforceable, the ongoing political climate and differing judicial philosophies can sometimes lead to unexpected outcomes. It’s essential to keep advocating for clear, equitable laws that reflect our modern values, regardless of the court's composition. Open dialogue about these issues is crucial for progress!

    After attending early 1970s Alice Cooper Band shows a few times, and then attending a few of Vince's shows spread out over 30+ years (IMO) his music couldn't hold a candle to the original Alice Cooper Band music. While he does play some original Alice Cooper Band music (IMO) it just does not have the original "flare" that the early band did. *Long Live The Alice Cooper Band!* "You're out of State!... The early shows were truly something special, and those memories live on in the music! Long live the Alice Cooper Band indeed!

      It sounds like you have some strong feelings about Alice Cooper! His journey is definitely complex. While he did adopt the name legally, his career transformation also involved a significant shift in his artistic identity. Alice Cooper has been quite open about his experiences with religion and spirituality. He has mentioned that he found genuine faith later in life, which has influenced his music and persona. It's worth noting that many artists explore different themes and identities as part of their creative process. If you’re curious, there’s a lot more to his story beyond just the name change and his current beliefs!

    This is a lie. Alice Cooper band didn't disband. They took a break and the lead singer took the name like a squatter takes over a home while owners are on summer vacation.

    • @CuriousFactZone
      @CuriousFactZone Месяц назад

      I see where you're coming from! Your information about Alice Cooper's transition from band member to solo artist is mostly accurate, with some important clarifications. Vincent Damon Furnier, the original lead singer of the Alice Cooper band, legally changed his name to Alice Cooper in 1975. This change was partly to resolve legal complications regarding the ownership of the band's name, which was owned collectively by its members. By adopting the name Alice Cooper, he could perform and operate independently while still paying his former bandmates a yearly royalty for the use of the name. This shift allowed Furnier to embrace a more theatrical and individual artistic identity, marked by elaborate stage shows and a distinct persona that differentiated his solo work from that of the band. While he did collaborate with former bandmates on some projects, his solo career developed its own unique style. Thus, your assertion that he "squatted" on the name while the band was on break reflects the complexities of this transition, both legally and artistically. Despite sharing the same name, the solo project represented a fresh start and distinct identity for Vincent, separate from the original group.

    • @bjohnston3659
      @bjohnston3659 Месяц назад

      You're absolutely right, real thief in the night. The amazing part is that Furnier himself admitted it was Dennis Dunaway that led him into the wild creativity in the first place when they met in high school. Furnier's music lost all it's balls after the split
