Meet MBE’s Big 9 - a true game changer for anyone racing a Chevrolet big block. The Big 9 is all about moving the most air and fuel possible into the combustion chambers. Improved parts not only flow more air, but they also rotate the valve location inside the combustion chambers. This makes it possible to stuff the largest intake valves ever into a Big Chief-style cylinder head. The intake val...

I realize this was shot and published 4 years ago... yet I have seen it more than once... for a reason. Matt is among a half dozen gents that I know, that are so extremely passionate in their areas of expertise, and pinnacle integrity that it is addictive to me. Everyone who views the weekly updates and those of us who constantly review these excerpts of his dedication... are sure glad he is in the business... and will stop at nothing to bring us the best he can create. I amongst others... share.in saying once again... " KUDO'S to you and the crew... and thank you for sharing your talents with us " ! Respectfully, Seth ( " You too Mr.Biggs " ! )
Awesome!!🎉
Now THAT's a side-by-side flow comparison that makes sense. What do the velocity/energy and discharge coefficient numbers look like?
Thank you kindly, Sir. Although I am into Harley M8 builds, your advice crosses over. And I'm sure I'm not alone by saying, your content is not boring. I had a similar experience with the company (J.E.T.) I went with. During my assessment phase I shared that I had purchased a set of Kibble White valves and springs. They cost more than the discount I would have received. But I decided to not use my Kibble Whites because I detected a little disappointment in Robert Johnson's voice, the King of the Bagger racer and owner of JET. I had to make a decision, go with the my setup or go with JET. "Don't hold on to a mistake no matter how much time and money you put into making it." I went with JET. The Kibble Whites I purchased were 550 lift +1 valves. The Scream'n Eagle heads were finished with 650 lift springs and +2 valves. Trusting your guy can be one of the best decisions in a sea 🌊 of decisions that is engine building. Thanks again brother. SKWID Rider’s Shipmate ET1(SS/SW/MTS) US Navy, Ret. Who makes the cam with the 'symmetrical' intake/exhaust lobe swap?
Port shape & air speed port energy
All depends on piston in the hole and head gasket thickness I use play do for a double check after measuring 38 thou good ballpark
a special camshaft required ! = insn`t that right ? with the changed spacings of ports ! - where and what cam is required PLEASE !
I was wondering is it possible to use a stock block with any of your 18,15,13 or 10 degree heads? I’m sorry if that’s a dumb question but ive only built 23 degree stuff so I was just wondering if I could buy a set and put on the short block I already bought. It is a stock 4 bolt main 350 that has splayed mains and I’m using a scat 3.75 stroke crank with crower 6 inch rods and Mahle forged pistons which are 13 to 1 compression with 64cc heads. So any help would be greatly appreciated. The quality of your parts look amazing and I know if I start using them lots of racers around my area would start buying them also. Because right now most are using dart 220 heads I believe and the video of your heads flowed way better then the heads we have now.
Thanks for explaining this to everyone! Seen engine builder put material back in gain performance cross sectional .
480 cfm is insane for a SBC. The ports look like a sr20.
What do you know about 7.3 Powerstroke turbo diesel heads, porting, valve diameter limitations over the stock 1.675”, flowing heads with a way to mimic boosted applications verses NA engine heads? I can’t find hardly find anything so I started the Coast to Coast Diesel Enthusiasts RUclips channel and I’m trying to bring others some kind of information and explanations of how helical ports work verses conventional ports. No local machine shop has a flow bench to test diesel heads, I’ll probably have to drive from Fort Mitchell, Alabama to another State to finalize my port work. There’s a Tremendous Void in the Diesel Community when it comes to port work knowledge. I’m going to Pioneer a way to fill that gap.
Blg power
How many cc is picked up with that 5 degrees? (Roughly)
Have a 632/860hp 4:11 boat now. 107mph. And a brand new 632 tall Dart block on a stand that I'm building. Looking for more power staying under 10.5:1. What's the complete top end kit cost for this application?
Manufacturers make hogged heads because they sell on myth. An experience builder and racer knows different. All about matching the proper application. Generally bigger ports... bigger cubes. Need to keep that velocity constant.
To BDMD ...Its called an inside adjustable spring caliper .
That intake design is perfection! RUnner plenum size just fn wow! Afraid to ask what a top end setup could run, 4.040 sbc Just cant swing a dart block but this sr383 is just about right...but more more more shiny stuffs!
My God who would bolt that on a junk block? Wish I could afford a set
just imagine a Small Bloc Chev wearing Bigger block Power Heads. that's how you go 0 to 155 extremely Quick !
Seems to me measured cfm is the important factor
I need to know what port shapes are better for engine size and RPM im looking for best port shape for a rock crawler on a 706
Wow ! Incredible details to make the concepts come to fruition! And competion leaders. Love your channel, Matt! Congratulations. Now I'm heading back to watch your latest vid again! 😅
Looks similar to a sb2 head. What nascar ran In the 90's and early 2000's
MBE appears to have the Best available cylinder head packages on the planet... if you can afford em'? most of us are DOOMED to the 24° stuff for financial reasons.
Lets see the dyno results.
I learned a lot
Great tech videos👍
You made my day: WE ARE ANTI 23 AND 24 DEGREES HEADS !! 😎😎😄😄💪💪👍👍👍
That 351 Cleveland valve angle Substantially Improved the heads performance 😁
You don't know what you're talking about.
Sometimes doing this i have lost 25 CFM , thats why you test
10 Degree MBE First run ruclips.net/video/wvlHLTquizg/видео.html
Hey Biggsy... lol... I have learned more from Matt's and Bob's updates than I ever learned in ONE OF THE TOP FUEL UPPER ECHELON'S... IN 22 YEARS!!! I look to Matt and the boys for anything worth knowing for heads, intakes, pulling on the boosters, etcetera... all PINNACLE LEARNING MOMENTS, THANK YOU MATT AND THE GUYS, RESPECTFULLY, Seth
Holy marcral!!!
From what I see... 30° 40° 50° with the 40° being 20% greater in length/width, looks to be a good starting point.
What do you have for big block mopar ?
I just finished doing an intake it was a 40hr. project I think half of the time is for appearance it seems to occupy a lot of the time.
Disagree...
holy crap, that stuff is automotive jewelry! Very, very nice!!
When the quench is in the sweet spot .030-.040s, it is quite beneficial, .050 and larger a liability, and measures should be taken to alleviate the knock it causes - as the video shows
It's confusing information. On one hand you say it mskes no difference on a Dyno and on the other hand you say it's less prone to detonation which automatically means more power can be made unless all these heads are not knock limited (which can't be the case)...
How to put 351 Cleveland heads on a small block chevy so it's finally competitive.
These arent for the cheap crowd...its for the guy that wants something different to smoke the ls turbo guys NA People who buy this dont care that much about cost. On that note I wishh I could afford it. But late on the power bill.
Not for the average car guy $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I saw one of those manifolds on a rear engine dragster in Spokane last year. I was SO amazed at the manifold, I do not even know if it was on a SBC, or BBC!!
These heads are gunna require very high rpm from a big inch small block that has too long of a stroke to do it. N/A that is.
My uncle has the heads on his pro 632 car and is running with the top racers on the first pass with the engine
I know this video is 2 years old, but would this be a good idea for my sportbikes? Im rebuilding a project 07 GSX-R 750 and I'm trying to all the tips & tricks. I'm probably going to run a thinner head gasket, Intake cam on the Exhaust, detail the head and maybe a 3 angle valve job.
Sometimes but not all if u want the best u pay a little more
