Huntsville's first performing arts organization was established in 1946. Incorporated as the Huntsville Community Chorus Association (HCCA), it is a non-profit, all-volunteer community organization. HCCA strives to offer the best in choral music and musical theater through the 170 voice Symphonic Chorus, HCC Chamber Chorale, musical theater productions, and other ensembles and activities. HCCA provides learning opportunities for children and young adults through scholarships and sponsorship of the HCC Children's Chorale (grades 3-6) and the HCC Youth Chorale (grades 7-12) and musical theatre productions.
HCCA Alumni Choir Presents "Why we sing"
Welcome to the end of the school year and the start of spring and summer ... And our latest virtual choir for HCCA "Why We Sing".
This virtual choir is labeled "An Alumni Choir" because in the pictures we celebrate the many singers who have participated in the last 20 years. You will see familiar faces we love in Symphonic Chorus, pictures of our student singers and graduates that make us marvel how they have grown over the years, even our directors are included in many examples of special events for all the choirs ... Peace on Earth, opera choruses, trips to festivals, Young Voices events, collaborations with the HSO ... so many memorable moments for our singers.
