Historical graveyards. Car tour of small towns. Your playback is best at 1080p or higher for these videos.
Exploring small towns in the Northeast United States, specifically New England, with all its rivers, lakes, coastlines, bridges, old buildings, old cemeteries, and wineries and breweries. Multiple car cams, plus GoPro for foot explorations.
Also, trails and state parks with my dog, with usually nothing but nature sounds, my footsteps, and the dog's breathing.

Foliage Dog Walk--Howe State Park, Spencer Massachusetts
Foliage dog walk through Howe Park, Spencer State Park in Spencer, Massachusetts.
Neat step waterfalls. Two different halves to the trail I took. I had to give up on both only because they were repetitive, not so great for video. But for pushing on for extra steps in your routine, carrying on for either half of these trails would serve you well.
Nice nature eye-candy from various bodies of water. Some great colors from foliage.
Make sure to change your RUclips Playback settings to 1080p/HD or higher for best viewing results. And please leave a LIKE and SUBSCRIBE if you like this type of content. Very much appreciated!

Autumn Foliage Drive--Connecticut to Massachusetts

A fall drive from Woodstock, CT through the Massachusetts towns of Dudley, Charlton, Spencer, Paxton, and Rutland. Starting at Roseland Park, and passing through Buffumville Dam Park, Rutland State Park, and Howe State Park, along with some quickie footage on foot. This is the final foliage video for this season (might post a short version of this video, however). The final five minutes is high...

Autumn Nature Walk, Lincoln Woods State Park in Rhode Island

Beautiful Park in Lincoln, RI. Great beach. Not much bug activity, but not much nature sounds, either. My dog Jackie leads the way as always, as we circumnavigate Olney Pond. Whether it was allergies or sinus flair-up, I was stuffed up that day which resulted in a lot of unfortunate mouth-breathing, sometimes fairly heavy and noticeable in the video. Apologies for that. Also, there is a fairly ...

Exploring the more rural route from the Hope Village area of Rhode Island to one of her marquee state parks: Lincoln State Woods. Great driving views of the reservoir, passing over the earthen dam, as well as the countryside, until arriving at Lincoln State Woods. Ends with a car journey through Lincoln State Woods which lasts just under three miles, followed by some highway footage, leaving th...
Nature Dog Walk at George Washington Camp Grounds, Rhode Island

Great camping grounds with trails for those just passing through. Nice reservoir with a tiny beach. Trail is a bit of a challenge, with shifting elevations and tree roots to walk over. This was kind of the Found Footage video from my collection recorded in June but forgotten until now. The main problem was the non-stop barrage of bugs (likely for that time of year). I swallowed a couple, but ed...

Autumn in New England, and a terrific park for a dog walk. Multiple trails, but I followed the RED trail that circumnavigates White Hall Pond. Great foliage colors, great pond scenes, and a couple of dog interactions... one good, one troubling. And you'll see the handy work left behind by enterprising beavers. Exploring just the RED trail, a little more challenging than beginner, mostly because...
Killingly, CT Autumn Car Tour

A quick autumn drive past some of Killingly's lakes and reservoirs. No history this time. No popular stops or local points of interest (well, maybe just one). Just a leisurely drive, starting briefly in Foster, RI, then into Killingly, CT. Three different cameras provide three different points of view from the car. This was recorded before peak foliage. Other videos to come for foliage watching...
Quick Drive Through Boston, Over Stunning Zakim Bridge
Просмотров 1342 месяца назад
Driving over bridges, through tunnels, over the Zakim. Why is the so-called "Smalltown Explorer" driving in Boston? Good question, glad you asked. It happened that the quickest route between two particular towns I wanted to explore, required driving through Boston. Not by its vast (busy) streets, but by its multiple highway, tunnel, and bridge system. Naturally, I had cameras rolling. If you en...
French River. Autumn Nature Walk. Thompson, CT
Просмотров 1182 месяца назад
I DO NOT RECOMMEND MAKING THIS WALK. It's a quickie, colorful walk along a small section of the French River. It's not a proper trail. There's an off-road scenic car stop, and I followed the terrain against the bumper along a main road. Why? Because this section of river is beautiful this time of year. But it's not the safest. So I made the short walk with my dog, of course so that you don't ha...

I love this cemetery. We were there a few years ago. You must have been there early or off-season. It was so crowed when we went.
You are correct! I went late September, but midweek. Going anywhere in Salem in October, especially weekends, would be a challenge I could not meet. Hope you enjoyed the video. And thanks for the comment! Hoping to visit another Salem cemetery soon for another video, in case you are interested.
Great quality video. I like the music too. What is FUTR?
Really appreciate the comments. Thanks. FUTR stands for Further Up The Road. I thought it would be a cute way of suggesting that an (very particular) accompanying video edit had cut to a time further ahead on the same road or highway (and that it sounds like FUTURE geeked me out). I guess I had a silly thought that it would catch on, but after almost two years of using it, you're the first person to ever mention it. What do you think? Should I drop it or continue using it as an inside secret or "code" to people who like the channel?
What a beautiful day you had.
Highly recommend that car ride if you're in the area. Even in the fall it's nice. Thanks for watching!
Relaxing drive me friend!
It really was! Thanks.

Very beautiful tour of the cemetery. And awesome information, so, so much work went into this video! When my husband & I lived on the Goodspeed Landing, we built a "Snow-Witch" (like a regular snow-man) in this cemetery. It made the front page (photo & story) of the Hartford Courant newspaper!!! This is a very calming & peaceful cemetery...thank you for this cool video !!!
That's a cool story.
The music seems to add the perfect level of mystery and intrigue. Nicely done!
Thanks for that! I was a club DJ for over 20 years, so I take pride in the music I license for these videos to set the mood.
1st comment on a great video!! Such a relaxing experience!
Love me some TrailStrider! Thanks.

This cemetery may have the most graves of people born in the 1600s than any other cemetery I've been to so far.
Wow.....Graves of those who were born in 1600s.....amazing video...thank you again😊
Thanks, and you're quite welcome. Yeah, so many very old ones here.
Looks like an area i need to visit someday.......especially historical distruct......are you planning on any cemetery visits in the area?
Hey! Yeah, it's a nice area. I did do a cemetery in Newbury, MA, and another in Hampton, NH, which isn't too far from Newbury.
Nice!
Thanks.
Hey didn't know you were in RI. Never really seen it. Thanks for taking me there!
CORRECTION: I've been told that the rules used for this particular game were more like 1864, not 1894. Sorry about that.
I absolutely love the way you do the old cemeterys....taking your time to document the information for all to read and understand. You are by far the best i have watched ..... this cemetery was so interesting....i cant thank you enough....amazing how long people lived in 1600s and 1700s
You just made my day... and night. Thank you. I have a few more I've recorded that I hope you find interesting once I edit them down. It's time-consuming so please bear with me.
Enjoyed your video. I like these videos without the music and the talking, just natural surroundings.
They're some of my favorites to make... but sometimes I ruin it if my breathing gets too loud (very distracting), so I have to walk slower than I like most of the time.
Enjoyed the video! Thanks for the upload. Leaving a like and sub! Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Very kind!

My husband and i used to go to old time baseball games in Hobart indiana at Deep River Park. We would sit in lawn chairs enjoying the beautiful sunny days. They would sometimes offer hot dogs and a woman dressed in old time dress would come around offering a free homemade cooky. Very relaxing and enjoyable 😊
Sounds like a good time.
I certainly appreciate the time you take at each cemetery and each gravestone.......much appreciated
Good video, smooth camera work. Especially like the walking scenes. And yeah, "Waikiki" is a weird name for a beach in Massachusetts!
Well, thank you very much. Very appreciated. Working on a few more "Seaside Town" videos, as well as a few "Trails/Parks" and "Historic Cemeteries."
Where are those two boats, if I may ask?
Sure! It's from the USS Albacore Museum in Portsmouth, NH. I lifted the scene you watched from a longer form video I had made about Portsmouth, NH (really nice place to visit) that's also on my YT page. I didn't walk inside the building--I just shot footage of the two vessels outside (along with other footage from around town). They're even more impressive in person. Thanks for watching!
@@TheSmallTownExlorerI went there
These nature sounds are making me sleepy
What drug are you on I lost a brain cell trying to read what the hell you wrote Drugs are bad for you lay off them
These people lived day today just like we do trying to survive I have more respect for the people back then because they had more respect for others
These people will live in it up I walk the graveyard down the street from my house and I pretty much know every gravestone 200 anyway
I find gravemarkers give so much insight into the individual ....whether rich or poor famous or not.....i can't help but wonder if those who were/are cremated...will their lives be remembered with the same detail as a gravestone gives? Thanks again for taking the time to do this for all of us
You're very welcome. And I will add that everything from the types of headstones, to epitaphs, to the style of lettering, and even sentence structure says a lot about villages and hamlets back then--they seem to copy each other. That creates almost a style or theme for a certain time period, in a certain cemetery, or corner of that cemetery. Or not.
Curious....will you be travelling to Pennsylvania? Or Maryland....love the revolutionary info and earlier grave markers....thank you....
Great question. Yes, those states as well as NY, NJ, and others are in my plans, but it's a matter of time and logistics. So many graves, so little time (that may be the first time that sentence has ever been uttered). PA and MD likely won't happen before 2025 if all goes right. Thank you for your interest.
Good shape, too!
I like the way you do your videos....thank you for the details of the tombstones.....if you ever run into any with the surname Gordon it would be much appreciared
I'll do my best regarding that name... you're the first to make such a request so you're obviously top of the list.
Love the inscriptions on these old stones in New England cemeteries.
No matter which state I've explored so far in New England, I can always count on inscriptions here and there that are either funny, deep, bleak, or even creepy.
My first STE video. Great scenery and great video quality! STE should explore the old cemetery on Green Hollow Road in Danielson.
I'm putting on my list, Mr. James Flynn. Thanks for the suggestion.
