Some personal animation I have been working on during Christmas and New Year holiday, making use of the skills I've learned at work by observing and learning tips from my peers, mentors and superiors.. I'll come back to clean up and color FX some days.
Question. Did you have to animate the character's shadow, too? Or did you just the 3D animation do that?
It’s a bit of a hybrid. Most of the form were duplicated from the animation, rotated and placed in correct perspective. After that I animated and mask in additional shapes so it wraps correctly on objects it passes through
@@LiemNguyenAnimation Alright. One last thing, when you started to work on the 2D character animation. Did you have to render the 3D reference without the camera movement?
@@daanimegoatman6683 this really depends on the shot. This one is fairly simple and linear so I only need a still from the CG. But if the shot has more complex cam movements it’s usually better to render out the animated cam sequence. Having something like a 3d model as a placeholder will greatly help referencing character’s scaling and position.
