Oh Jamie I feel the same way about being in my house! During the cold months, I live in Iowa, I work in my kitchen island. And it’s so hard when I can’t get away to do my work and not be in the middle of every day life sometimes. I LOVE THE TERM LIFESTYLE POTTER!!❤. Oh my gosh I was putting off cleaning my clay area and literally spent 2 months glazing pots I made over the summer instead of cleaning my area!! It was ridiculous!! I saw the space every day all day and kept putting it off and it literally took 20 minutes to clean!!! How ridiculous but I felt almost paralyzed. Now I’m trying to put things away right when I’m done so it doesn’t get so bad but sometimes I’m soo tired and in pain when I come to the end. But I don’t want it to get to that point again so I’m trying. I love that you took your watercolor to the shop!!! I’ve been making clay canvases lately and was wondering what kinds of artsy things I can do on them with things other than glazes!! With watercolor make sure you use good watercolor paper!! It makes a HUGE difference!! Your piece turned out amazingly well!! When you change things I think we all find that some things work and some don’t so keep in mind that some things you may keep and some you won’t. And whatever you decide is absolutely fine.

Have you thought about making a subscription with each month one or 2 items like a dish and a pendant a mug and a spoon? I am saying this because I own a small stationery shop and it took off with subscriptions. They will make your income more steady and will increase your customer base.😊 I hope you have a nice 2025!

26:18 how you spoke about saying no to things more and yes to yourself more in regards to ceramics has been my moto going into this year for my personal life. I felt so known hearing you say that. ❤

I make functional pottery that people ask for. Needing to plan for spring shows means I will have enough to meet demand and not be in a rush three weeks before a show. I plan for 5 making days and two rest days every week to keep on track. Journal keeping helps a lot.

I just got my day planner pages, which I use to mostly journal in, and sat down Friday and changed them all out and organized the ones from the past 6 years!! I also started a pottery journal! I’m going to try and keep track of the hat I do pottery wise for the entire year. I’ve never been able to track how many things I’ve made so that is one of my goals!❤ I can’t believe how much your green drink matched your green tray! Lol. I’m with you on being a half extrovert half introvert! This next year I am going to focus on extruding!! Handbuilding everything is soo hard sometimes and I got this 5” extruder a year 1/2 ago called Big Blue and I haven’t even tried it!!! I’m so afraid of this dang thing it’s ridiculous! But I know it’s going to help with making more things a bit faster so I’m just going to have to dive in. So this winter I’ve been trying to watch as many videos on extruding and going on Pinterest etc to find things I really want to try and make. What is the Asana? I see you’re using your iPad pencil! I got mine out yesterday and tried charging it and it would NOT charge no matter what! I tried using the cord and my iPad. Ugg. Please know that you do not have to plan your entire life at any certain time! I celebrate the new year in spring when the real new year actually starts when everything comes back as well and Jan because that’s when a lot of people do things like tha! Don’t push yourself if you don’t feel like it hun! Do it at your own pace and when you feel like it. It will come to you!! I started printing pictures off every month becasue I was going sooo long without doing it and it was so hard to do when you have so many months of pics and not having done it for so long. Anyway I’m so glad you shared this with us! ❤❤❤

Oh Jamie I’m so sorry you only sold one thing. When I first started that happened to me and I was devastated but I really found that I was at the wrong types of markets. I LOOVE that you did so well in your last pop up!! May I ask where you did your pop up? Do you know the people who own the business you were infront of? I so agree with you on the vastness of things you can do with pottery. All of the amazing things you can make as well as the enormous amount of techniques you can do to the pot. Oh honey I’m so glad you had the surgery you needed!! Omg when you were talking about taking care of yourself because you feel so good is just amazing!! I’m doing the same but because I’ve been sick for sooo long!! I’m feeling better and absolutely HAVE TO get moving and get into shape. I didn’t know you were married. Lol. I don’t think I’ve heard you say that before. I’m glad you have a partner. I feel like the e selling in person is a HUGE thing!! Being out in the public and talking to people is my thing! I am a peephole person and I want to be out there. I haven’t driven in about 10 years!! I know it sounds so odd. I have to ask. What are the little cubes with the numbers on them? I love the e set up with all the colors separated! It looks really nice! I’d love to know what you use to sand your pieces! I see the green diamond block and paper. I used to hand sand everything but once I started using a lot more slipcasting pieces my making really went up and the number of pots I make went up drastically so now I use grinding and sanding bars that go on the wheel. Even though I don’t throw I have a wheel and have wanted to learn but for now I use it to sand my bottoms. But sometimes I have just a handful of items and I’d like to hand sand them. Also when it’s too cold in the garage to sand the bottoms I have to hand sand them. Thanks. Soo glad the woman was understanding about her order and what a cooool idea!!
