Alternate perspective: a book that you aren’t enjoying wins when it sucks up too much of your reading time and you don’t end up enjoying it! My general guidelines for myself are that I try to read at least 15% of a book. Usually by that point I can tell if it’s a good fit for me or not. Sometimes I’m still not sure and then I give myself to 30%. Life is too short to read books you don’t like! Huge props to you for finding any time to do pleasure reading during med school! I didn’t do any pleasure reading for about four years from the middle of undergrad through my masters.

This vlog is totally up my alley! Please make more of these...and I don't mind them being longer! Love the dedication you have to exercising and trying to get through a book that is not your cup of tea.

I highly recommend reading The Island of Missing Trees, Fortunes of Jaded Women, Banyan Moon, and The Paris Apartment. The Island of Missing Trees is my favorite book to date and I read it last year. The author writes so beautifully.

My reading goal this year is 10 books. I’ve already read 6 so far. Props to you for shooting for 50 books

I’m so glad that you loved funny story!!! 💖 My favorite read so far this year has been The Guncle by Steven Rowley. My favorite sequel is just for the summer. Most disappointing book for me this year so far has been what the river knows by Isabel Ibanez. New release that I haven’t gotten to yet, but really want to is the Guncle abroad. It’s incredible that you have had 8/12 five star reads! I’m at 6/31. My average so far for the year though is something like 4.31, so it’s been a very good reading year.

Beach read is so good! It was my favorite Emily Henry book until I read funny story. Now I need to read it again to see, but I love funny stories so so much! I agree, just for the summer is absolutely perfect! 🤩 It’s my favorite in the part of your World Series. I really liked yours truly, but I felt like the miscommunication lasted way too long. That was a four-star for me.
