Just for the summer and funny story where a couple of my favorite books of the year, so good! A couple others were The Guncle, The Violin Conspiracy, and The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches.

You guys, I'm reading Zodiac Academy and I love trash fiction. However, the writing is so so terrible. Like it just doesn't set the scene. The author doesn't put me in the moment with the characters. Should I keep going? Do the books get better as you go? I'm almost halfway through book 1 and I currently feel like people who love this just haven't read any "bully romance" before. The Royals series starting with Paper Princess is such a better example of bully romance. I also liked Havoc at Prescott High. Do I stick this out and read on? I love to be on hype trains but this once I'm just not feeling so far.

Alternate perspective: a book that you aren’t enjoying wins when it sucks up too much of your reading time and you don’t end up enjoying it! My general guidelines for myself are that I try to read at least 15% of a book. Usually by that point I can tell if it’s a good fit for me or not. Sometimes I’m still not sure and then I give myself to 30%. Life is too short to read books you don’t like! Huge props to you for finding any time to do pleasure reading during med school! I didn’t do any pleasure reading for about four years from the middle of undergrad through my masters.

This vlog is totally up my alley! Please make more of these...and I don't mind them being longer! Love the dedication you have to exercising and trying to get through a book that is not your cup of tea.
