If it doesn't have access and can use the - Google Play Store - APK's made by independent companies that work on Android Then this sounds like a terrible OS. It is a gutsy move, however that is too much of a loss of all those apps. They don't have iOS's backlog of apps or reputation to get those to build them specifically for that. Will they be as crazy inclusive as iOS as well, demanding specific conditions and requirements to be allowed to make apps for it (probably, it is China and they motitor and allow only specific things...)? I don't believe all the companies that make apps, especially games, will jump right on bored. Some may, like the CN companies, since well, they're in that country, but they'd then ALSO need to make the Android and ever popular iOS versions (if an iOS version exists) for the existing customers across the world too, who I'm sure they'd want to make money from. Huawei is also not the only CN company that makes phones. Will other CN companies be moving from Android to Huawei's own OS? Probably not, as that is another companies. So they'll be sticking with Android (or need to make their own OS too). UNLESS Huawei can at least get ALL Chinese companies to use their OS as the country standard, I cannot see this becoming a lasting thing.

Samsung should adopt Snapdragon for all its flagship phones.

Why are you shitting on samsung icons? the squircle shape is the best for an icon. it has real state unlike the circle google puts on their stock android and it's not that stiff like the rounded squares apple puts in their overpriced trash.

I'm assuming we will get the Snapdragon again here in the US and maybe mediatek for other countries, the Exynos chipset is difficult to produce for mass worldwide market.

foldable phones bring one thing back, that i didnt miss: wear and tear. and iam not getting that back. my current phone is a mate 20 pro, thats 5 years old. my wife has a flip 5, 6 months old and you can already hear and feel the grinding of dust in the folder mechanics.. no thanks i take something that lasts

It’s not gonna beat apples chip maybe in raw numbers but apples chips always perform better in actually games and apps due to optimization and their bare metal api developers can make 2 year old apple chips beat the newest Qualcomm chips with optimization it’s has always been that way and will stay that way unless the snapdragon chips lock down to just a few brands to get the optimizations but due to being so varied with 30 different devices you can never get the optimization a closed platform like apple has it’s also why the dimensity chips perform so bad in games while on paper being the best on the market optimization matters more than raw power every day every time
